• Proven experience in Supporter Care and income processing, ideally within a charity environment, with confidence in handling sensitive or escalated supporter interactions. 
• Strong working knowledge of CRM systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge), with a solid understanding of data accuracy, Gift Aid, and Data Protection legislation. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to manage multiple tasks while working collaboratively across teams.

About You

What You’ll Do
This role enables the DEC and our 15 member charities to effectively respond to humanitarian emergencies and provide timely, quality, community-focused assistance.

As an Accountability & Learning Officer, alongside your efforts to contribute to our learning and growth, you will shape our work to influence key policy agendas. You’ll be working across such areas as climate adaption, flexible funding for humanitarian action, and locally led humanitarian responses.

Overseeing our monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities, you will support the set-up of projects, build relationships, and co-ordinate activities in all our current operational theatres.

Specifically, your role will involve:

- Assessing humanitarian crises for DEC appeal eligibility
- Maintaining and improving reporting templates
- Setting up and overseeing key learning activities over the appeal cycle
- Overseeing our Collective Initiatives and Shared Services portfolio
- Supporting a range of DEC research and learning projects and reviews
- Helping members to achieve their climate and environment targets

The Role

The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising is responsible for the majority of income generation for our charity. The Switch raises income from corporate volunteering partnerships and through grant applications to other trusts and charities, which together contribute circa £800,000 per year. This is a role that requires strategic thinking, relationship and negotiation skills, and the ability to meet income targets.

This role will manage and grow our current key corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and longevity in our partnerships. The person will be responsible for communicating effectively with corporate partners on a strategic level, to understand how we can improve our volunteering offer and communicate impact to their business.

The job-holder will seek new partnerships in diverse industries where we have fewer stakeholders, to ensure our young people work with companies and volunteers from wide-ranging sectors.

In this position you will scope fundraising opportunities from grant and trusts, and be adept at assessing our viability so that applications we submit have a higher rate of success than average.

As Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, you will create new income streams which The Switch has not considered before, for example legacy funding, individual giving, corporate match funding. This will improve our financial stability.

In addition to income generation, this role will lead the Partnerships team and manage two to three staff as follows :

1. Our Corporate Partnerships and Volunteer Manager - oversees all volunteer logistics, including maintaining volunteer records and distributing relevant briefing materials to ensure volunteers are well-prepared for their role. Some time dedicated to fundraising too.

2. Our Communication Coordinator – leads on our regular comms including our digital newsletter, social media pages, and bespoke comms for projects or funders.

· The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising leads the Partnerships Team and reports to the CEO.

· Working hours are typically 9am – 5pm Monday – Thursday, and 9am – 4pm Fridays.

· Working from home (WFH) is typically 2 days a week, with Wednesdays mandatory in the office.

· Flexibility will be required to cover meetings or events outside of these hours and WFH days.

The role of Parks Volunteer Programme coordinator in the Enable Parks team will allow you to demonstrate your skills working with stakeholders and local communities to deliver park improvements, habitat management tasks and one-off volunteering opportunities. You will assist with developing working relations with existing corporate partners and increasing our reach by creating new partnerships in the local area and beyond. 

Your responsibility will be to manage and deliver volunteering sessions throughout the entire portfolio of parks and greenspaces.  You will develop a volunteering program which is established but in its infancy, working with key managers and the team around you to create a purposeful and output focussed programme of opportunities for local groups and corporate partners.  The potential to develop volunteering is significant, and therefore the most suitable candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to ‘make things happens’. 

You will be responsible for creating each volunteer session as it addresses improvements or enhancements, and manage the needs of all volunteers throughout their experience.  You will have responsibility for Health and Safety, external and internal contacts and be the lead person co-ordinating all associated admin tasks to create enjoyable and productive volunteer sessions in Wandsworth.   

Another key aspect of the role will be strengthening links with businesses and organisations in the local area and beyond to develop a consistent pipeline of volunteer sessions that help improve Wandsworth parks and provide opportunities for people to give back.

Skills and Experience:  

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) or appropriate experience in a directly related post.
• Experience of working in a volunteer management, coordination or programming role, or similar work delivering practical biodiversity, habitat or landscape management. 
• Proven ability to organise, plan, and manage projects effectively (including budget management, Health and Safety oversight, and environmental monitoring data). 
• Experience of managing / supporting volunteers (delivering soft/hard landscaping improvements with volunteers is desirable.)  
• Experience of developing annual outdoor educational/volunteering programmes for a wide range of participants.
• Entrepreneurial and customer service focussed, to allow the volunteer programme to develop into a sustainable, profitable and scalable service area.

• Use a coaching approach to engage young people in challenging conversations that will enable them to take responsibility and overcome significant barriers to employment

• Liaise with relevant staff regarding site operations and work to resolve any issues as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies
