Job Title: Deputy Service Manager

Location: Based within the Non-residential service in Wembley, working within communities, homes, and other residentials. This service does have step free access however we are unable to guarantee this at some of the other locations where the role is based such as homes and community based locations.

Salary: £31,700

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota working 09:00 - 17:00, hours may be extended 08:00 - 18:00. You may also be required to work outside these hours as per service/participant requirements. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota for managers.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Wembley. You will support the Service Manager to ensure high quality service delivery, being a key contact for staff, helping them feel supported, skilled, and empowered within their roles. In this role you will be based within a service which is at the heart of delivering person-centred support to vulnerable adults who have been, or are at risk of homelessness. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Line Management and Leadership, supporting your team providing advice, guidance and support throughout their employment lifecycle
• Support the Service Manager in leading the day to day operational delivery of the service
• Risk Management ownership, ensuring processes and policies are followed
• Financial Management, including petty cash and budget management
• Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

Someone who is knowledgeable in the needs of our residents, particularly around homelessness and complex needs, able to support the team in delivering their daily duties. • Understanding of homelessness and complex needs of people from different backgrounds

As a Support Worker you will be expected to undertake duties and work as part of the staff team to support customers with daily support to achieve personal goals by using person centred approach.

What you'll do:
* Work proactively with the team to handle the service caseload and support an effective team approach to meeting each customer's identified needs.
* Contribute to a positive service environment, ensuring the service is supportive and a place of safety and stability for customers. This includes working flexibly and being proactively in delivering, reviewing and arranging effective support for emerging needs and risks in order to prevent escalating concerns.

ISWAN has recently reorganised the management of our helpline services and created this new role, which will be pivotal to further developing our quality service to seafarers. We have seen significant growth in the number and usage of our helplines and now seek to recruit a second Helplines Operations Manager to ensure we have a management structure capable of coping with further growth.

As one of two Helplines Operations Managers, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of ISWAN’s helplines to ensure our services provide accurate information, appropriate advice, and comprehensive support to seafarers and their families.  

You will manage the development of Salesforce and be familiar with Salesforce reporting, particularly using advanced tools like Power BI and Tableau. You will be confident liaising with our IT support service on system issues and developments. 

We have no preconceptions about where the successful applicant will come from but you will bring experience of managing multi-channelled contact centre operations and best practice as well as delivering user and client service improvements.

You will need to be capable of working effectively within a complex international context and have sound experience of service development. Influential, analytical and collaborative, you will be a qualified accountant with a proven record of leading a team, and you’re able to work effectively with stakeholders, both internally and externally. A natural communicator, both verbal and written, you will also have excellent time management and prioritisation skills, while a flexible, proactive and professional approach to your work is essential. Strong analytical skills along with impeccable attention to detail, and a high level of numeracy are a must-have for this role. About the team

Shelter’s Finance Team sits within the Strategy Enablement Directorate, which also includes HR Operations, Technology and Data, and Governance, Planning and Property. The Finance Team consists of 32 people led by the Assistant Director of Finance. 

This role sits within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team. FP&A produces financial reports and analysis, provides expert advice, and enables collaboration to support effective decision making throughout the charity.

This is a strategic leadership role dedicated to amplifying survivor voices and driving systemic change across the Alliance Partnership and the wider VAWG sector.

The Survivor Movement & Participation Lead (SMPL) will champion survivor leadership by embedding accountability, fostering peer-led services, and building a strong, intersectional movement to end violence against women and girls. The role leads the Experts with Lived Experience (ELE) network, develops survivor-led spaces and leadership pathways, and embeds survivor influence within governance and decision-making. The SMPL will represent survivors and the Alliance in national forums, coalitions and sector discussions, ensuring survivor participation shapes strategies, policy and practice.

Job description 

As the SMPL, you will:

• Lead and coordinate the Experts with Lived Experience (ELE) network, ensuring survivors are supported, resourced and fairly compensated, and design and facilitate survivor-led and peer support spaces grounded in trauma-informed, anti-racist and culturally rooted practice.

• Build survivor leadership through training, mentoring and development opportunities, and embed safeguarding, boundaries, confidentiality and collective care across all survivor involvement.

• Strengthen survivor leadership within VAWG and wider justice movements through campaigns, activism and public engagement, and support cross-movement alliances with LGBTQ+, disability and other justice communities.

• Facilitate survivor participation in governance structures, promote ethical and power-sharing frameworks, represent survivor-led practice in strategic forums and partnerships, and contribute to tools, learning and resources that assess and promote survivor influence.

A social housing provider in the London area is seeking an experienced Planned Works Surveyor to support the delivery of capital and improvement programmes across its housing stock.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out surveys on residential properties to assess planned maintenance, component replacements and upgrade requirements
• Prepare works specifications, schedules of rates and technical documentation
• Manage contractors, monitor progress and ensure works are completed to agreed standards
