About the Bloom Service

Barnardo's Swansea Bloom Service works directly with care experienced young people to help improve their emotional wellbeing, resilience and self confidence. Our aim is to create a positive space for them to explore their identity, passions, and potential. The support on offer includes  the opportunity to take part in amazing activities, life coaching, befriending and peer mentoring.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join Barnardo's as a Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring Co-ordinator (Project Worker 2).

The contract is for 25 hours a week to cover the maternity leave of the substantive post holder until 31st March 2025.

Bloom is a growing service offering a unique opportunity for the right person to develop, co-ordinate and deliver our Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring work using established and innovative approaches. The Co-ordinator will be responsible for recruiting and managing a team of volunteers, befrienders and peer mentors who will help young people to improve their physical and mental well-being by supporting them to access a range of exciting activities, helping them to find new interests and hobbies and engage in healthy activities in the community

You will undertake the role of Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring Co-ordinator reporting to the Children's Service Manager and acting as line manager to the service's volunteers.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out the following duties (in addition to those on the generic job description):- 

• Continued development and delivery of the Volunteer, Befriending and Peer Mentoring element of the Bloom service.
• Recruit and train volunteers, befrienders and peer mentors
• Effectively match volunteers/befrienders/peer mentors to support young people
• Effectively utilise the Barnardo's specialist volunteer management system (Vol 1)
• Provide ongoing support and supervision of volunteers
• Keep accurate statistical information and assist in producing service performance reports for the organisation and funders.
• Support project engagement events and empower young people to share their voice and ensure that Bloom continues to be a young person led project
• Assist in quality assurance of every aspect of the service
• The service requires flexibility of work as we support young people around their needs.

You will have: 

• Experience of working within a volunteering setting preferably at the level of co-ordinating the service this can be in a employment, education, training or volunteering setting
• Experience of recruiting, inducting and retaining volunteers
• Experience of keeping statistical information and completing performance reports for funders
• The ability to line manage  volunteers
• An understanding of the needs of care experienced/vulnerable young people and an awareness of the factors impacting on their lives

Bloom is made up of three elements all of which work together:

Life Coaching - there is a dedicated life coach

Giving young people the power to unlock their own potential for positive change, by providing them with the tools to build resilience, improve wellbeing and understand themselves better. Coaching empowers young people to think about and move forward positively in their lives, by creating and working towards specific goals through 1:1 sessions with our life coach. 

Volunteer, befriending and peer mentoring - there is a dedicated volunteer coordinator

• Volunteers – to help with activities
• Befriending - members of the local community befriend and provide ongoing assistance to service users are moving to independence
• Peer mentors – care experienced adults who can offer invaluable guidance to care experienced young people by drawing on their own experiences

Activities there are 2 engagement workers 

Giving young people regular opportunities to get together to experience activities not easily accessed by care experienced young people. Led by the expressed wishes of young people they could be experiences such as sports, adventuring, outdoor events, gardening clubs, cooking clubs.

Teaching

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

• Proven successful track record of planning and delivering high quality teaching of accredited and non-accredited provision in a relevant subject and at appropriate level(s).

• Experience of devising course outlines and schemes of work.

Job Description: Training and Events Officer

The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.

You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes.  Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.

Duties include:

• Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members 
• With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
• Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
• Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
• Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact

• Delivering and facilitating inspirational and engaging training and events as required (online and in person)

• Developing relationships with partners to produce high quality webinars, training and online events – including SLA members, funders, external stakeholders

To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:

The Community Engagement Officer is an essential role in fostering strong relationships with current and prospective members of the School Library Association community. The postholder will provide frontline support, drive online and in person engagement through outreach initiatives, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the membership base. About us:

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. The free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and by rapid response vehicles.

Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.

They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care, usually only available in the hospital emergency department.

Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land.

Job purpose:

The Compliance Manager role has the purpose of maintaining a culture of compliance across the charity whilst ensuring we adhere to all relevant regulations and laws.

Together with the Governance Manager, you will be the key point of contact for compliance, providing advice and support to the team and ensuring we have procedures and controls in place across all areas of the charity.  This will include training to ensure the team is skilled and acting consistently, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing appropriate solutions.

Internally this role will be titled Assistant Governance Manager and will report to the Governance Manager.

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

• Promote a culture of compliance and be a point of contact for all compliance and data protection queries, providing accurate advice to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Develop and maintain robust procedures and structures that give the charity the ability to fulfil our regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the charity is aware of, and is reacting to, any fundraising, data protection and other compliance regulation changes, by understanding wider implications.
• Work to maintain a culture of compliance across the charity through the development of training and guidelines that are easy to understand and accessible.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure that compliance procedures and policy documents are followed and fit for purpose.

• EHAAT is a patient focused emergency medical charity.  It is essential that all our staff are competent and confident in the delivery of CPR and use of an AED (defibrillator) in an emergency situation. For this reason, you will complete in house, CPR and AED awareness training annually.

Essential

Age UK Camden is an independent charity supporting older people throughout the borough of Camden. This role sits within the Fundraising and Marketing Team, responsible for raising the profile of Age UK Camden within the borough and generating income for the organisation.​

The Press and Communications officer will oversee our press and media activity, writing press releases and building strong relationships with local and, where relevant, national media. About Transport for All

Your responsibilities

1. Fundraising strategy (10% of time)

· Work with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to set and deliver the fundraising strategy.

· Work across teams to identify opportunities to create projects and seek funding.

2. Trust and foundations fundraising (60% of time)

As Senior Finance Officer, you will play a vital role at World Heart Beat, ensuring the effective day-to-day management of finances, financial administration, and bookkeeping, as well as informing future business planning. About the Role

As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for setting up and updating all property and resident accounts on the rental ledger system and for ensuring that rental income in correctly reflected on both the rent and finance systems on a timely basis.

You will work closely with project staff and housing benefit departments regarding rental income queries and ensure that rental income is received in accordance with the charity’s internal financial controls and all legal regulatory requirements are complied with. The role will involve some sales ledger work, under the supervision of the Rental Income Business Partner.

Some Key responsibilities include:

• Rental Ledger and rental collection

• Responsible for reviewing the rental income bank account and accurately reflecting all receipts onto the rental income system
