The role will support the Chief Strategy and Governance Officer to manage, measure, review and analyse our performance against the governance and risk frameworks and enable the organisation to achieve its strategic and charitable objectives.
 

The role:

Head (Governance & Risk)

Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Governance Officer, you will lead on the day to day delivery of the charity’s governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. This role provides expert support to the Chief Strategy and Governance Officer, Board of Trustees and senior management team and is responsible for embedding a proactive, organisation-wide approach to risk management and accountability.

About the role 

The Hepatitis C Trust is a charity run by and for people with lived experience. We work with people who often find it hard to get healthcare, including people living with hepatitis C. 

This role is part of a new structure within the Hepatitis C Trust and will lead the revitalisation of the Cheshire & Merseyside peer programme, ensuring it remains fit for purpose, resilient, and responsive to both community needs and funding opportunities. 

The successful candidate will drive forward a renewed vision for peer-led services across Merseyside and Cheshire—building on strong existing foundations while delivering innovation, equity, and measurable impact. This will encompass both the core Hepatitis C peer model and the peer-led Needle and Syringe Programme (NSP) alongside developing new opportunities. 

The Peer Services and Development Manager will:

Gaddum provides therapeutic support within the CYP Bereavement Therapy Service and the Complex Care Therapy Service across Greater Manchester. Our CYP Bereavement Therapy Service is delivered across Manchester and Salford. Our Complex Care Service is delivered across Salford, Rochdale and Stockport. Our Kentown Support Service will be delivered across Greater Manchester.

Role Purpose:

Working as part of the Gaddum CYP Bereavement Therapy and Complex Care Team, your role will be to provide effective and efficient administrative support to ensure the smooth running of Gaddum’s therapy services. You will be responsible for ensuring that all administration tasks are completed with a high level of accuracy and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.

You will demonstrate appropriate professionalism and empathy towards clients both face to face and over the phone. A keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise is key to the success of this role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

· Processing referrals: adding them to our database as well as our waitlist spreadsheet, sending out therapy agreement emails to gain consent from families, communicating with referrers/other professionals where needed

· Screening referrals: for any unsuitable or high-risk cases, identifying those 16+ to help us build list for trainees

· Completing follow ups where needed - such as awaiting carer response to agreement/consent email, or we are waiting to hear back about something

· Responding to queries from professionals or service users

· Monitoring email boxes and supporting to monitor waitlist

· Completing IA’s with families who are due to start therapy

· Assisting with therapy bookings where needed (may be contacting schools or community venues on behalf of therapists)

· Liaising with professionals and assisting with onward referrals

· Keeping records up to date

· Communicating cancellations/scheduling changes to therapists or clients or both

· Support therapists with collecting feedback from parents/carers

· Attend team meetings, assisting with minutes where possible, helping to share information with the team

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

This is a UK based, full time (37.5 hours/week) permanent position, reporting to the CEO. AmplifyChange is based in Bath, and we operate on a hybrid working model. The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is recruiting a Senior Policy and Campaigns Adviser to join its policy and campaigns team in the new year.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the RCP as the organisation seeks to finalise and implement its new strategy.

The RCP represents around 40,000 members and fellows in the UK and internationally. Our members and fellows work across over 30 medical specialties such as cardiology, neurology, infectious diseases, geriatric and respiratory and acute internal medicine -working in hospital and community settings.

With the 10 Year Health Plan outlining three shifts for health policy in England, the senior policy and campaigns adviser will play a critical role in developing policy positions rooted in physician experience so we can effectively influence the national agenda. You will develop and deliver policy work on a range of high-profile topics such as the NHS workforce – including issues facing early career doctors – health inequalities, digital and AI and clinical research.

You’ll need a sharp eye for detail and be able to quickly and accurately interpret and communicate complex information. You will have experience of analysing policy developments in the external landscape and making recommendations for how to evolve and progress policy positioning in response. You will be as comfortable speaking to officials and other stakeholders as you are writing policy reports, consultation submissions and briefings.

You will brief the president, senior officers and senior staff and play an active role in engaging external stakeholders in NHS systems and the wider sector. You will provide lead support to an RCP advisory group, working closely with the chair to set and deliver a workplan.

The policy and campaigns team – and the wider communications, policy and research directorate – is a fast paced, collaborative and innovative environment. You will help us shape our objectives and continuously improve how we work.

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering policy work across a range of topics within the RCP’s policy portfolio.
• Delivering robust horizon scanning and policy monitoring to proactively identify key issues and opportunities to evolve our policy positioning and further our aims.

We’re looking for an SRHR Policy and Advocacy Adviser (up to the end of June 2026) to play a key role in the final phase of a donor-funded programme as part of the Countdown 2030 Europe network. In this short but high-impact role, you will help deliver key influencing opportunities on the UK Government’s commitments to SRHR, while maintaining influential relationships across government, Parliament and civil society. You’ll also lead political influencing on major advocacy moments — including the Commission on Population and Development (CPD) and the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) — in meaningful partnership with young people.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with a fellow SRHR Policy and Advocacy Adviser and the Senior Policy and Advocacy Manager, combining strengths to maximise our influence and deliver real impact for girls’ rights.

As part of our dynamic Policy, Campaigns and Youth team, you’ll work collaboratively across Plan International UK and with our federation partners to ensure our influencing strategies remain credible, evidence-based, and rooted in feminist, anti-racist and decolonial approaches.

You’ll bring strong policy and advocacy experience, ideally with a track record of shaping UK Government policy and working on SRHR. Confident in building and managing high-level relationships, including with senior government officials, you’ll be quick to apply your expertise in producing persuasive policy positions and communications. You’ll also be a champion for youth-centred influencing, supporting young people to engage meaningfully in global advocacy spaces.

Experience of working within the UN system and knowledge of SRHR multilateral financing mechanisms would be an advantage.

In accordance with statutory safeguarding and child protection guidance, online searches will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before interview. As part of this work, our People and Operations Team engages a wide range of people in the Trust’s vision for Gloucestershire, and our Executive Assistant is integral to this.

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to deliver high level professional administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer. The Executive Assistant will take responsibility and ownership of office organisation and project delivery, and to provide Trust-wide support for human resources processes and governance processes for the Board of Trustees.

Contract terms:

Summary of key duties:

Executive Assistance:

• Organise meetings and manage diaries for the CEO and COO.
• Prepare agenda, take minutes and keep records.
• Handle communications on behalf of CEO and COO.
• Manage projects and general administrative tasks.

Governance Assistance:

• Organise Board and Committee meetings.
• Co-ordinate and support the preparation of meeting papers and distribute them in a timely manner.
• Take accurate minutes and maintain governance records.
• Support the Trustee recruitment and induction processes.
• Keep governance information on the website and Trustee portal up to date.

Human Resources Administration:

• Support HR processes and recruitment.
• Oversee and manage the IRIS HR system, ensuring all employees know how to use the system and keep their information up to date.
• Provide regular HR reports to managers.

Use of Overton House

• Manage room bookings and visitors arrangements, ensuring policy and practice is consistent with the Trust’s values.
• Ensure external users have the right information and support.
• Work with the Marketing and Comms team to promote available spaces.

Line management responsibilities

• Provide line management to the Operations Administrator, enacting the Trust’s management processes to ensure that all direct reports are motivated, supported and enabled to give of their best.
• Conduct regular reviews and support personal development for direct reports, providing open and honest feedback on performance, setting personal development goals and plans.
• Ensure that all direct reports work within clear and effective safeguarding practices and in accordance with all other Trust policies and procedures.
• Ensure that wellbeing, sickness and absence are managed effectively.
• Contribute to Trust-wide people management policies, procedures and team culture as a member of the People Manager Team.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

• Proven experience of working as a Personal Assistant/Executive Assistant at a senior level
• Experience of accurate minute-taking and record-keeping for both formal and informal meetings
• Team leadership, experience managing or supporting colleagues

Desirable Knowledge and Experience:

• Knowledge of human resources policies and procedures
• Knowledge of governance processes

As Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will build and maintain relationships with MSPs, ministers, officials, and sector leaders to influence health and social care policy in Scotland. By bringing together evidence, lived experience, and political insight, you will help shape reforms that improve services and support for people at the end of life and their families. 

Your impact:

• Influence Scottish Parliament and Government policy, responding to legislation, consultations, and committee inquiries. 

• Build relationships with ministers, MSPs, officials, and key stakeholders to ensure Marie Curie’s policy messages are heard. 

• Deliver impactful campaigns, events, and external engagement to raise awareness of end-of-life issues.

Cancer Research UK's Cancer Intelligence (CI) team is part of our Evidence & Implementation (E&I) department within the Policy, Information and Communications directorate. The E&I department is integral in driving impact for people affected by cancer and improving patient outcomes by placing evidence at the heart of the charity's work. Through robust research, the department shapes and drives improvements to cancer policy and practice across prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, outcomes, inequalities, and innovation.

What will I be doing?

• Overseeing the planning, development and delivery of commissioned prevention policy research (PPR) and supporting the development of the new prevention policy strategy

• Being responsible for signing off all policy research commissioned contracts, briefs, and outputs, ensuring they meet the Cancer Intelligence Team's evidence standards, adhering to wider CRUK policies, and aligning directly to the PIC prevention strategy

• Supporting team members to maintain and develop their own knowledge bases and skillsets through appropriate training, horizon scanning and involvement in commissioned work

• Developing and maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the area of cancer prevention to identify common areas of work and identify gaps providing effective and pragmatic solutions

• Leading on dissemination of PPR outputs, including grey literature reports, peer-reviewed articles, presentations (internal and external), stakeholder engagement and press activity

• Liaising with the Cancer Prevention Knowledge Group Chair and other relevant experts to ensure that external insights are sought and appropriately incorporated into commissioned work

• Managing the budgets for prevention policy research studies and working with relevant colleagues to commission work agreed through the existing governance structures

• Gathering stakeholder feedback on strengths and weaknesses of existing team processes, including timeliness of outputs, quality of work and value for money

• Exploring different approaches for commissioned prevention policy research, to inform the development and implementation of a model of working that bests supports the delivery of the new prevention policy strategy.

What skills will I need?

• Education and/or experience in a research methodology discipline e.g. health sciences research

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external parties at senior levels

• Excellent influencing and negotiating skills and experience of building effective working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
