We have a rewarding new opportunity for a Senior Community Support Worker (Positive Behaviour Support) to work within our new service.

The Early Intervention and Prevention service is based at one of our children’s Centre in Wythenshawe, Manchester, this service is working in partnership with the City of Manchester Local Authority. Successful candidates will work across North, Central and South Manchester.

 Salary - £29,108 (£14.93ph)

              Weekend rate paid at 25% premium of normal hourly rate

             Sleep-in shift - £100.80 per sleep in shift 

The Purpose of the service is to establish a local integrated offer of intensive, therapeutic overnight stays and outreach support.   Focused upon building the capability and resilience of families so the child/young person can experience greater permanency of care with their families, foster care, or benefit from the range of services available to them in their community. 

The Service will focus on improving the outcomes for Children and Young people on the Autistic Spectrum, and other learning disabilities with the aim of reducing the number of children referred for residential care.

The service is designed to promote the following outcomes for children/young people:-

• To stabilise behaviours that may be a barrier to inclusion 
• To improve quality of life outcomes
• To have the opportunity of participating and experiencing a range of activities
• To improve the resilience of their families and parents/ carers
• To develop daily living and self-care skills to improve their health and wellbeing
• To develop communication and social skills

 As a specialist service there is a comprehensive package of training and support either internally within the Trust's Learning & Development Team or externally with our professional partners Manchester Local Authority, IST and CAMHS.

As a Senior Community Support Worker (Positive Behaviour Support) you will provide first line management to a team of Community Support Workers (Positive Behaviour Support), developing their capability through demonstrating the right values and behaviours, mentoring staff, and supporting their ongoing development.

The aim of the Early Intervention and Prevention Service is to work with families that may be struggling with managing the behaviour of one or more of their children, you will work alongside the family and multi agencies to deliver a high standard of care and support.

You will have the opportunity to receive formal Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) training and coaching from qualified behavioural specialists within the Together Trust.

Senior support staff will work alongside management to ensure the service meets Ofsted children’s home regulations and works in line with current legislation.

This service will develop to offer respite care to the families and young people that we support and from the Manchester City Council Local Authority Area. This service will be a dual registered OFSTED and CQC service.

About The Role
We are recruiting for an Events Fundraising Coordinator within the Bespoke Events team. This is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week on a permanent contract.

As Events Fundraising Coordinator, you will support the growth, development, and delivery of our Bespoke events portfolio. You will be involved in multiple aspects of Bespoke events team projects, recruiting supporters, stewardship planning, creation and evaluation and maximising fundraising opportunities for the Society.

In this role you will work with the Events Fundraising Manager and Events Marketing team to plan marketing for selected events. This includes, writing and supply engaging copy as necessary and to agreed deadlines and maintaining and updating internal and external web and social media pages relating to Bespoke events.

The collaborative nature of this role will mean you’ll be building and maintaining good relationships with internal and external stakeholders. For example, you’ll work with the Supporter Care team to provide excellent supporter care and support for all potential and current supporters. You may be required to manage smaller events, including leading on all aspects including logistics and paperwork and ensuring the fundraising database is updated accurately.

Interviews for this role have been provisionally scheduled to take place on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th September.

About you
Joining us, you’ll have experience of working in events and you’ll understand how events work in the charity sector. You’ll be organised, with experience managing a project or process successfully and the ability to prioritise effectively. You’ll bring excellent customer service skills and the ability to answer supporter queries effectively and build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, suppliers and supporters.

Crucially, you’ll be a good communicator who can work collaboratively with others in a team. You’ll be able to complete a range of administrative tasks that might be associated with fundraising, including working with databases and social media.

What you’ll focus on:

- Maintaining and updating internal and external web and social media pages relating to Bespoke events.
- Working with the Events Fundraising Manager to meet both income and expenditure targets as agreed with the Senior Events Fundraising Manager.
- Providing on-going briefings, updating key documents and materials as required, for use by the Supporter Care team.
- Providing excellent supporter care and support for all potential and current supporters using various communication channels – including text, telephone, email, social media and post.
- Developing, implementing and maintaining processes and resources to ensure the effective running of the Bespoke Events team.

Each Support Worker holds a caseload of residents and meets with them weekly to build a support plan and help them achieve their goals.

We are looking for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join our Guildford Foyer team. Main areas of responsibilities are:

Housing:

• Coach young people to manage their occupancy agreement and adhere to house rules, in preparation for independent living
• Promote a credit culture, encouraging young people to keep up to date with all payments for rent
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing and welfare benefits for young people and be well-informed on significant changes to housing law
• Deal effectively with non-compliance issues, such as non-payment of rent or damage to room, using restorative practices and working collaboratively with the rest of the team

Coaching and Engagement:

• Coach young people so they can articulate their aspirations and ambitions and take the lead in acquiring the skills they need to live independent and fulfilling lives
• Ensure young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own personal development, to engage with the services on offer and build strong networks and connections within the local community 
• Ensure consistent standards of safeguarding and Trauma Informed Practice when supporting young people, observing our safeguarding procedures, and keeping yourself and residents safe by respecting professional boundaries
• Maintain client records on In-Form (client database) detailing the young person’s journey in relation to their strengths and needs, any risks, and any outcomes (to monitor service performance)

General:

• Work as part of a team, on a rota shift pattern, ensuring young people at the service have non-judgemental, objective, and supportive staff during the day/evening, along with taking responsibility for personal safety during periods of lone working
• Contribute to a great working environment, with a calm, yet assertive manner, being able to handle potentially difficult situations
• Participate in relevant continuing professional development and utilise Reflective Practice Supervision as part of leading psychologically informed practice

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
 
Service Delivery & Development

• Work closely with the Youth Work Manager and wider youth team in developing and delivering creative, inclusive and needs-led programmes, activities and services for young people that promote their wellbeing and enhance their life chances.
• Actively promote the meaningful participation of young people in shaping the ongoing development of Blend Youth Project service delivery.
• Work effectively across Blend sites and delivery locations in a range of contexts including: open drop-in sessions, alternative education provision, project-based delivery, community projects, detached work, 1:1 mentoring, residentials and school-based work.
• Function as the ‘Lead Worker’ within a variety of delivery contexts and conduct yourself as a role model in youth work practice, providing practice-based support to other staff/volunteers as required.
• Support the planning and delivery of alternative education sessions in a variety of settings as required and directed by the Alternative Education & Post-16 Manager and Specialist Teacher.
• Take a shared responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Branch, ensuring that young people have access to a range of services that meet their needs e.g. employment support, sexual health services etc.
• Take a shared responsibility for the care, upkeep and management of all Blend premises, equipment and resources, ensuring that routine practices and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
• In the absence of the Youth Work Manager, act as a key point of contact for matters such as Branch premises procedures and protocols.

 
Quality Assurance & Communications

• To be responsible for the timely completion of all session plans, evaluation forms, progress tracking documents and all associated quality assurance documents. 
• Track, record and report upon project progress to support funding monitoring reports / SLA requirements as required.
• Actively participate in producing content and promotional material for use in Blend Youth Project social media platforms, website and offline materials.
