As Research Communications Manager, you will set the direction for research communications, developing new ways to creatively showcase the breadth and impact of the research we fund to inform and engage diverse audiences.

You will lead how research is communicated beyond the Motor Neurone Disease Association, using owned and earned platforms, ensuring it is accurate, accessible and relevant. As Research Communications Manager, you will identify opportunities and develop new ways to strengthen understanding of MND research among stakeholders and the public. This is a new role which will rely on collaboration and building strong relationships particularly with research, communications and digital engagement colleagues.

Your work as Research Communications Manager will help people understand motor neurone disease research updates and initiatives, deepening engagement across communities and supporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of external research communications across owned and earned channels
• Develop research messages, content and use of channels based on audience needs
• Champion the involvement of people affected by MND in how we communicate about research
• Create engaging content that highlights the impact of MND research funded by the MND Association and others
• Work with press and research colleagues on media enquiries and proactive coverage
• Build strong partnerships with the Research and Innovation Directorate
• Develop clear processes to support consistent, high quality and inspiring research content
• Support media training and briefing of research spokespeople
• Line manage a Communications Officer (Research) and support ongoing development

About You

• Experience translating complex scientific or research information for non-specialist audiences
• Professional writing or journalism with understanding of media and public relations processes
• Degree-level knowledge or equivalent experience in a scientific field
• Experience managing a Communications function and delivering research communications, ideally within a health charity or similar setting
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and relationship building experience across internal and external teams
• Excellent organisation skills and confidence managing priorities

As Head of Digital Products and User Experience, you will lead the Digital Products and User Experience team in the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of digital platforms and products that drive engagement with our cause. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Digital Products and User Experience team, including 4 direct reports, setting clear direction and high standards

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Service Delivery will be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational management, and continuous improvement of our client's volunteer-run support line. Responding to over 17,000 service user contacts in 2025, volunteers are the lifeblood of the organisation, and this important post will serve as a key point of contact, counsel, collaboration and leadership for our volunteers. With your team, you will handle day-to-day enquiries, support volunteer well-being, lead on initiatives to improve service delivery, while providing an accessible and supportive environment for volunteers. The role will also manage, support, and grow a diverse pool of volunteers representing our client's communities, overseeing the entire volunteering experience, from recruitment, training, support, engagement, and celebration. About the Role:

You will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime and Anti-Social Behaviour, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will also you will contribute to cover for the Helpline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first point of contact for service users referred in to the service, completing comprehensive impact and risks assessments using agreed processes and a tailoring the response to each individual's needs.
• Manage a caseload of service users who require more immediate and short term interventions, referring on those with more long term needs either internally or externally.
• Develop support plans where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and contribute to monitoring information for the service and provide accurate and timely performance information for internal and external use.
• Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns including both child protection and vulnerable adult issues.
• Ensure that everyone is aware of their rights under the Victim's Code of Practice and the Witness Charter..
• Comply and keep up to date with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including data protection legislation, confidentiality.
• Work as part of a team to ensure that all outcomes and Key Performance Measures are met relevant to the local contract.

Ideally you will have:

• Experience of delivering a service and working directly with service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting
• Experience of working in an outcomes focused service
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and the impact of crime
• Knowledge and understanding of Domestic Abuse processes and services
• Experience of engaging with vulnerable victims of crime who may have complex needs

What you will do

You’ll be responsible for:

• Account management and monitoring of progress, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders at every stage

About the Role

As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker you will provide high quality support to victims of domestic abuse and other crimes, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. You will also contribute to providing cover for the local VS Helpline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively managing a caseload of service users, delivering excellent services which support the commissioners and their service goals to victims. Undertake initial proactive contact with victims, explaining VS services and promoting the benefits of accessing support.
• Ensure each victim receives an individually appropriate tailored support and information service that fully meets their needs, keeping complex needs central to all processes and decisions. This will be delivered face to face, via telephone, video-chat, text and/or email based on the preferences of the client.
• Undertake risk and needs assessments to address the specific needs of the client in line with VS operating procedures. To follow relevant safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure an integrated approach to address any safeguarding concerns.
• Provide information and advocacy to enable service users to navigate and understand the criminal justice process and ensure their rights are upheld in accordance with the Victims Code of Practice.
• Identify barriers to individuals accessing our services and determine solutions. Work with multi-agency partners to which victims can be referred for ongoing and specialist support such as housing, social services and health provision.
• Maintain accurate and confidential case records, complying with data protection and all other legislation connected to your work.

About You:

You will need:

• An understanding of the impact of crime on victims such as anti-social behavior, domestic abuse, sexual violence and hate crime.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s).
• Ability to balance competing needs and priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A successful track record of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement. About the Job

Administration:

• Act as the primary point of contact for RFF-related work, both internally and externally, liaising with the nurse team regarding decisions and agreed actions.
• Provide administrative assistance to the Information and Support Team across all areas of service delivery.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of the RFF, including creating and refining processes and procedures.
• Process all RFF applications, including conducting initial assessments.
• Coordinate the ongoing distribution and monitoring of financial awards.

Family Support Worker – Thames Valley

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to deliver a high-quality family support service as part of our Thames Valley Care Team.

Reporting to the Family Support Manager of the Thames Valley Care Team and working in partnership with health, education and social care professionals, you will take responsibility for providing needs-led emotional, social and practical support to families where a child/young person has a life threatening or terminal illness.

Having worked in a stressful and emotional environment you have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and helping people; and having provided bereavement support to families, you understand processes of grief, loss and change - and how best to help others deal with its impact.

This role covers Thames Valley and surrounding areas. The role does require travel, however you have the freedom to plan your own diary around the demands of both the families you are working with, your team, and also any personal appointments you may need to attend.

What we’re looking for:

· An experienced child health, education or social care professional - applications will be particularly welcome from those who have worked in a community environment and those with a recognised qualification in education, health or social care

· A warm, inclusive approach to achieving goals quickly and correctly

· Practiced in child protection, information sharing and the rules around data protection - you lead by example, drawing on your own professional experience and working within established guidelines

· Practical and people-oriented - you will thrive working at a fast pace whilst maintaining accuracy and be a confident user of IT (including MSOffice)

· A persuasive and open communicator - you will work collaboratively with your team and volunteers to ensure delivery of a high-quality service and support fundraising colleagues by writing case studies and family updates

· A practical knowledge of diversity issues affecting children, young people and their families – aware that being responsive to others needs and concerns, is essential.
