An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bank Housekeeping Assistant to join our Housekeeping Team. Role Requirements

Site wide general housekeeping service – ensure that the housekeeping services is of an acceptable level and is consistent across site.

• Carry out a cleaning service in allocated buildings/rooms/areas ensuring that daily tasks are completed according to the standard operating procedures in relation to the cleanliness/hygiene standards.
• Follow infection control procedures whenever carrying out duties and ensure procedures are followed should there be an infection control outbreak.
• Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and House Staff on a daily basis – carrying out special requests in relation to Housekeeping.
• Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials and equipment and sufficient stock is maintained – informing the Housekeeping Supervisor of stock requiring ordering.
• Assist in the cleaning of communal areas on a daily basis and cleaning of carpets, curtains and high dusting on a rotating schedule.
• Ensure that any repairs required to fixtures and fittings are reported to the designated Facilities Helpdesk as soon as possible and any issues are reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Assist in routine housekeeping audits as outlined in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure any works are to agreed service levels.
• Prioritise work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Assist other members of the Site Services and Facilities teams as required.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reports to: Head of Support and Care (Registered Manager)
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, usually Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm

NB Service Coordinators are required to balance management administration with being present in the group's houses. This necessitates some occasional evening and weekend work to be agreed with their line manager.

Salary: £35,000 per annum (with an increment in the second year) 
Place of work: L’Arche London community houses and office (all within a walking distance, based in West Norwood, London)

Main purpose of the role:

- To lead and manage the Oak Group, one of three groups in the L'Arche London community, comprising of a range of services for people with learning disabilities and its team of assistants. 
- To lead the service delivery within this group in line with L'Arche values, standards and the requirements of the Care Quality Commission [CQC]. 
- To play an active role in the leadership of L'Arche London, helping shape a vibrant community of people with and without learning disabilities.

Leadership and People Management:

- Supervise and work with the Deputy Service Coordinator to lead a team of 15 Support Assistants. Ensure each assistant in the group is regularly supervised, trained, and appraised, and that action is taken to effectively manage performance issues.
- Understand the requirements of the CQC and other relevant legislation and ensure that all applicable standards are met including adult safeguarding. 
- As part of the Community Coordinating Team, implement appropriate policies and procedures, promoting the wider L'Arche mission, vision and values.
- Be on the On-Call rota every 6 - 8 weeks, with flexibility as service requires. (Additional pay provided.) 
- Contribute to the recruitment/ interviewing of Assistants.

Provision of Support to People with Learning Disabilities

- Ensure the provision of high quality personalised support for each person with a learning disability in the Oak group, implementing Person Centred Support Plans to maximise independence, personal choice, and autonomy.
- Enable each person with learning disabilities to feel at home, encouraging both individuality and belonging, ensuring that everyone is informed of their rights and responsibilities as a member of the Community group and as a tenant.
- Support each person to manage various aspects of their life, from their personal budgets to their health and well-being.
- On occasion, provide one-to-one support to people with learning disabilities at home or in the community.

Administration and Management

- Maintain high standards of communication and record keeping, ensuring an effective flow of information within the Group, with the rest of L'Arche London, the local community, family and professionals.
- Work closely with the Deputy Service Coordinator to oversee the work rota.

Creating Community

- Attend and organise Community events and celebrations relevant to the role and foster a sense of welcome for all visitors and friends; ensure a regular rhythm of prayer and reflection in accordance with the traditions of L’Arche.

General

- Attend training and personal development courses as required.
- Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post which may be required from time to time.

What We Offer

- This post is offered subject to a probationary period of 6 months; 3 clear references; a completed work history form; a satisfactory and up-to-date enhanced DBS check; and a satisfactory right to work check as appointees must have the right to work in the UK.
- There is no additional pay for overtime, but Time off in lieu (TOIL) will be given and agreed with the line manager when circumstances require the post-holder to work extra hours. TOIL should be taken within 2 weeks of being accrued.
- All Service Coordinators are the on-call rota for 1 week every 6 - 8 weeks. There is an additional payment of £56 a week for being on-call.
- Paid holiday allowance of 33 days leave per year. (This total is inclusive of 8 days in lieu of bank holidays).
- Service Coordinators will be provided with a programme of personal development and training including opportunities to study for QCF qualifications in social care and leadership development through L'Arche in the UK's leadership development programme.

The Responsibilities

The Right Candidate

• A 3 year track record of demonstrable growth in income against targets.
• Experience of identifying and developing funding partnerships using research, networking and delivering timely proposals for funding and engagement with a high conversion rate.

Role:                 Fundraising Database Manager

Location:            The Haberdashers' Schools, Elstree, Hertfordshire but with hybrid work

This is an exciting time for Haberdashers’ Girls’ School and Haberdashers’ Boys’ School. While they remain largely autonomous institutions with their own cultures and traditions, they are undertaking ambitious joint fundraising and alumni relations activities for the first time in their histories. This effort is led by a small but dynamic development & alumni relations team working across both schools.

Overview

The Fundraising Database Manager plays a key role within the team, with overall responsibility for the administration and oversight of the Raiser's Edge donor/alumni database, gift processing and alumni networking platforms across both schools. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of the data and ensuring it is up to date, optimising the database for fundraising appeals, generating reports and queries, providing professional support and training to users, processing all gifts and claiming Gift Aid. The database manager is also responsible for ensuring the department complies with all relevant data protection regulations

You are a motivated and highly organised self-starter, with a knack for methodical problem-solving, enthusiasm for the potential of data to drive effective fundraising and alumni relations, and a meticulous attention to detail. Beyond optimising and managing the database, you will also take the lead in implementing new financial and operational procedures which will make our fundraising and alumni relations work more efficient and effective, and which will be easy for less tech-minded team members to adopt and sustain.

You are comfortable extracting, interrogating and reporting on data to help inform strategy, always looking for ways to use and improve your skills and experience to make an impact. You will have a sophisticated understanding of how to export, import and (where warranted) merge multiple datasets. Finally, you never forget that behind the data are real people, and that ensuring the integrity, accuracy and protection of their data is vitally important, both for them and for the schools.

Location: Borehamwood, 15 miles northwest of central London. A flexible work schedule, including a mix of remote and on-site working, will be possible for the right candidate.

Sense are in search of a Trusts and Statutory Manager to join our fantastic engagement team based in London. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering Sense’s strategy to reach 50,000 people with complex disabilities by 2026. Central to this strategy is our plan to deliver growth in our charitable projects and to build several new multi-million-pound hubs in Belfast, Leeds, and the Southwest. These hubs will significantly increase the number of people who can access our services, helping to bring forward the day when no-one is left of life.

Sense has a strong track record in Trusts fundraising over several decades. We have recently secured several 6 and 7 figure statutory partnerships, and we have talented colleagues in post, but there is room to grow, and Sense is investing. This year, we have also welcomed new corporate, major donor, prospect research, and special events colleagues to the team, and this new role is part of the same planned investment. 

This is a full-time, either hybrid or homebased, permanent role, working between home and our offices in King's Cross as required. We are open to hearing from candidates who want to work 5 days or 4 days a week
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a robust portfolio of prospects and supporters to meet income targets 
• Research and identify potential funders for unfunded Sense projects/concepts
• Work closely with key stakeholders, sector partners and leadership to grow pipelines, this includes monitoring of Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funding portals
• Lead on funding applications to a range of Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders, including coordinating inputs, writing narrative applications and application budgets
• Lead or support the grant management of key Trusts, Foundations and Statutory funders’ grants. This includes: ensuring compliance against contracts, quality assurance, and submission of funder reports

Skill, Knowledge, and Experience:

• Experience of generating income and achieving financial targets in a high value role
• Experience of working with a Trusts and Foundations pipeline, or a Statutory pipeline, making sure opportunities are identified, recorded, and taken forward 
• Direct experience of developing and submitting six figure plus proposals for Trusts Foundations, Statutory funders, or equivalent 
• Experience of working with Senior Volunteers and/or Leadership to engage prospects and supporters
• Able to write strong, persuasive narrative for six figure plus proposals and reports

Reprieve is a UK charity founded in 1999. Reprieve uses strategic interventions to end the use of the death penalty globally, and to end extreme human rights abuses carried out in the name of “counterterrorism” or “national security”.

 Reprieve works with the most disenfranchised people in society, as it is in their cases that human rights are most swiftly jettisoned and the rule of law is cast aside.  About the Role

The Africa Death Penalty Team Project Manager is responsible for coordinating Reprieve’s litigation and advocacy in Sub-Saharan Africa. At the moment, the team works on death penalty casework and abolition advocacy in Malawi, Tanzania, and Kenya. Our casework includes work on individual cases on behalf of people facing a death sentence; large-scale projects, such as the Kenya resentencing project, wherein we support stakeholders to ensure 5,000+ people are able to access a chance at reducing their sentence from death via a new sentence hearing; and  long-term regional projects, such as our strategic litigation before the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, which challenges the mandatory death penalty, torture, and other associated violations of the African Charter.

Regional context

 There is a trend toward the abolition of the death penalty in Africa. In recent years, countries across the continent have taken the decision to limit the application of the death penalty or to abolish it altogether. This has been seen as a turning away from old laws and systems that were imposed by former colonial governments, which obstructed alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, and were designed to remove discretion from the local judiciary. African lawyers and judges are now at the forefront of a wave of progressive jurisprudence on issues related to the death penalty including methods of executions, torture, sentencing practice, conditions of confinement, and intersections of gender, disability, and socioeconomic status with criminal justice. This jurisprudence has become a model for the international movement to limit the death penalty, and is being held up as best practice in jurisdictions around the world.

Contract and location

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model with staff working part of the week from home and part of the week from the office. Applicants must have the current right to work in the UK, which will be checked prior to interview.
