Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational growth and strategic goals

• Lead all fundraising streams, prioritising the development of our relationships with trusts & foundations and corporate partnerships

• Agree on income targets, KPIs, and a robust pipeline to meet current and future funding needs

Requirements

We’re growing our strategic people capability and are recruiting two People Business Partners on a two-year fixed-term contract.  One role will suit an experienced, all-round HR Business Partner. About the Roles

About You

You’re collaborative and resilient with the ability to operate strategically while staying hands-on. You have proven experience as a HR and/or L&D Business Partner (or similar role) and are confident building strong relationships with senior leaders and managers across multiple functions.

You stay calm under pressure, manage challenging situations constructively, and juggle competing priorities in a fast-moving environment—planning ahead yet adapting when things change.

You work autonomously, communicate clearly, and make sound decisions grounded in employment law and HR best practice. Proficiency with HR Information Systems is also essential.

You bring the highest levels of integrity, confidentiality, and commitment—and you’re motivated by teamwork, transparency, and doing the right thing for our people.

You hold a CIPD level 5 (or have equivalent experience) with demonstratable HR business partnering success. Previous experience in L&D information systems (preferably Kallidus) will be beneficial, particularly for those wishing to apply for the Learning and Development focused role, though not essential.

You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with business insurance for work purposes. You are willing and able to travel regularly for in-person meetings and events—often to Downton (SP5 3RB) or London, with occasionally travel to other UK locations. Central London travel will be by train.

You are also comfortable staying away from home overnight on occasion, when required to support events or team activities.

Resurrection Trading (known as Resurrection Furniture) is a vibrant friendly charity shop in Alton High Street specialising in recycled second hand furniture and home goods. We need an efficient organiser to lead our team of volunteers, manage the office and bring a creative flair to display and sales.

About us
We opened in Alton in 2017 and in 2022 moved to larger premises at 21b High Street. The charity is linked to the Parish of the Resurrection. All profits from the shop go to good causes in Alton, especially to support youth related projects, people in need, heritage buildings and the community.

The shop is a busy, friendly place supported by a skilled team of repairers in the workshop and a lively band of drivers and lifters on the van. In total we have more than 50 volunteers and the charity is led by a team of Trustees. The shop is open 10 to 4pm Monday to Saturday.

Job Summary
The Manager’s role is typical for a retail high street shop except that there is no head office or back up staff - the manager and volunteers between them carry out all functions. These include:
Daily office administration - communications especially daily emails, Facebook messages and phone calls re furniture donations and sales, discussions with volunteers.
Coordination of volunteers including induction training, support and leadership,
Organising donations – selection, collection, pricing, display and delivery.
Shop organisation, administration and reporting to Trustees including publicity
 

Key Responsibilities:

Office Administration
• Deal promptly with shop communications via telephone, emails, Facebook and in person each day relating to donations, sales, and messages from volunteers

• Promote donations via estate agents, care homes, general publicity and regular house clearances

SHINE is a membership organisation offering free services and support to over 14,700 members living with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), and associated conditions.

We’re looking for a community project officer to play a vital role in our exciting programme Communities Health Action Together (CHAT). This role will be instrumental in coordinating and delivering CHAT’s key strands, leading the development of a volunteer passporting process, liaising with local infrastructure organisations and NHS trusts to streamline processes. You'll also bring together the leads of the place-based pilot projects across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, collating data and supporting with impact measurement.

You’ll work closely with NHS Trusts, VCSE partners and community stakeholders to drive forward collaborative action. From managing project milestones and co-producing solutions with volunteer managers, to mapping current processes, ensuring alignment with safeguarding standards and reporting on outcomes, you’ll help shape a joined-up approach to volunteering across our system.

We think and work a like an agency – we’re not here to simply cross the T’s and dot the I’s. Our work is all about finding the big ideas, so we need this to be one of your superpowers (and you’ll need a portfolio to prove it).

Our team takes on a variety of briefs from across the organisation and things move quickly. One day, you might be working on our Christmas fund-raising campaign. The next, you could be brainstorming ideas for an event or writing copy for a cash-appeal mail out. Whatever the brief, you’ll be taking projects from concept to completion, always working alongside a designer and a Creative Lead.

You’ll need real understanding of social media, an exceptional grasp of brand voice, meticulous attention to detail, excellent proofreading skills and all the versatility you’d expect from a top-notch copywriter.

We’re looking to diversify the knowledge within our team to deliver high quality projects in organisational development based on our Quality Students’ Unions framework and other relevant benchmarking tools. We’re also part-funded by the Scottish Funding Council to provide specific developmental support for College Students’ Associations across Scotland. You don’t need to have worked in students’ unions before, but working in a membership/governance/charity environment would be a bonus.

The Role

Reporting into our Customer and Neighbourhood Director, you'll be responsible for the development of strategies, policies and procedures relating to all tenancy sustainment activities. Being a specialist in this field, you'll also scan the horizon to identify potential significant changes in external policy and financial landscape, introducing best practice from other organisations and sectors.

You'll be the main point of contact internally for all matters relating to tenancy sustainment, working collaboratively across the business to ensure that consistent best practices are embedded within Locality teams and the wider business. Externally, you'll represent SNG and our commitment and vision in tenancy sustainment – influencing and working alongside key external stakeholders and delivery partners, building relationships aligned to our corporate and customer strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

• Working with internal and external stakeholders to provide and source expert advice, and manage the development of services, to ensure SNG meets its commitments, monitors its performance and evidences its delivery relating to regulatory obligations, changing regulations, guidance and best practice
• Developing and leading a stakeholder management plan across local, regional and national government bodies responsible for the delivery to specialist areas
• Piloting partnerships with other services to enhance the provision of support to SNG's customers and developing funding solutions to provide support to core budgets
• Managing large complex annual budgets, ensuring appropriate monitoring of expenditure and compliance with procedures and levels of approval
• Ensuring that the appropriate training and development programs for Locality teams are in place across a range of areas, including domestic abuse, safeguarding and ASB
• Leading on all strategic and operational elements of service development across localities; proactively involving customers through engagement and scrutiny, to help shape and facilitate the co-creation of the service as required  
• Articulating a clear vision, providing direction, and promoting a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement

What we need from you

Ideally you should have previous experience in a similar senior role, with strong experience and knowledge of the latest requirements for housing providers across tenancy sustainment.  You'll also need:

• Excellent demonstrable knowledge of programme development and performance improvement in a customer focussed environment
• Ability to plan, track and forecast income and expenditure against relevant budgets, to deliver a value for money service whilst taking actions to mitigate any risks
• Evidence of delivering on innovative concepts, utilising future changes in policy to support flexibility in a responsive organisation
• Experience of promoting an organisation at a regional and national level to raise the profile of the business
• Ability to inspire, support and develop others to optimise their performance
• Track record of meeting deadlines and working effectively with others in a complex and dynamic environment
• To have strong people skills and be an effective communicator, able to influence and challenge
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite with intermediate or advanced excel skills
• Membership of a professional body – CIH
