We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Drug and Alcohol Worker within one of our specialist services. We are looking for self-starters with a passion for sparking change in people’s lives. You will have the necessary skill set to empower people and support residents to achieve their goals.

We are looking for:
Responsibilities
· Create a safe and accepting psychologically informed environment for vulnerable residents, whilst following safeguarding measures.
· Develop the recovery hub, embedding the “Rethink Recovery Toolkit”
· Deliver quality training, advising staff and residents on substance misuse and assist on the admin side of negotiations and conferences.
· Line manage a small number of staff
· Attend service user and care programme approach review meetings.
· Create trusting relationships with residents, motivating and empowering them to take next steps.
· Interview new referrals and recovery workers, ensuring your project meets their needs, and assessing physical and mental health for interventions.
· Develop links and effectively communicate with internal and external partners / connected organisations, providing covering when necessary.
· Organise peer support activities, assisting with money management following Finance policies and procedures.
· Ensure residents are assisted with managing their medication, strictly adhering to PRHA’s Medication policy.
· Uphold PRHA’s commitment to Equality of Opportunity, and managing Diversity.
Carry out other duties as may be reasonably required.

Hostel Support Worker
Position Available: 2 Support Workers
Shift Pattern - 11-week rolling rota including weekends:
Early Shift: 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
Late Shift: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Appointment Shift: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Length of Assignment: Minimum 3 months
Location: 50-bed hostel in Vauxhall
Pay: £14.40 + holiday pay = £16.14 per hour or £18.00 via umbrella company
Description:
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our social care client's team as Hostel Support Workers. This position involves providing vital support to individuals with complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health difficulties, and criminal justice issues. Our clients, both men and women, often come with their faithful companions, and we accommodate a few dogs in the hostel.
Responsibilities:
- Key-working and case management for a caseload of 5 to 10 clients.
- Providing individualised support and guidance to residents, addressing their specific needs and challenges.
- Facilitating group activities and workshops within the communal spaces.
- Conducting regular check-ins and assessments to monitor progress and ensure the well-being of residents.
- Collaborating with external agencies and resources to offer comprehensive support services.
- Signposting clients to relevant programs and resources for their personal development and empowerment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those with complex needs.
- Strong understanding and sensitivity to issues related to substance misuse, mental health, and criminal justice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- A passion for supporting individuals on their journey towards independence and self-sufficiency.

About the role:
As a Resettlement Worker and Domestic Abuse Specialist, you will work in person and remotely with clients who have support needs, in particular, those who are survivors of domestic abuse. In conjunction with other members of the Partnership, you will support our clients to engage with services and find accommodation solutions. You will work in a person-centered way to get the best prevention, relief and support outcomes for the client.
Main duties:
- To work with clients with support needs, to engage with their prevention, relief or advice goals by; Agreeing with them a support plan to deliver the actions identified in the Personalised Housing Plan.
- Undertaking specific short term interventions to progress a client’s prevention or relief goals, including providing advice and support to enable individuals to improve their health and wellbeing.
- Providing advice and signposting to support clients to access relevant housing and wider support services.
- Working in partnership with RMG Caseworkers to deliver holistic housing and support service.
- Providing support to clients to access private rented and supported accommodation options.
- Referring to specialist internal and external support services as appropriate, including health, addiction and employment services.
General responsibilities:
- With your line manager, to continuously develop the role to ensure that all tasks are being undertaken in an effective and appropriate manner which meets the strategic aims and objectives of The Passage and the HSS Partnership.
- To participate in internal/external meetings as required, and attend training events, conferences and other functions as necessary.
- To participate in regular supervision, reflective practice and annual appraisal, and help in identifying your own job-related development and training needs.
- To ensure that all The Passage and Partnership policies and procedures are being adhered to, particularly those relating to Health and Safety, Code of Practice Data Protection and Confidentiality.
- To contribute to the effective implementation of The Passage’s Diversity and Equality Policy.

Desired experience:
- Experience of face to face working with vulnerable or socially excluded adults.
- Experience of working collaboratively with voluntary, statutory and private sector agencies.
- Experience of assessing client needs and delivering psychologically informed interventions to ensure client needs are identified and met.
- Experience of working within a team to achieve strong and effective relationships with others to achieve organisational aims and objectives.
- Experience of working in a day centre, hostel or resource Centre environment.
Desired knowledge:
- An awareness of the issues that face street homeless and vulnerable people.
- A basic knowledge of the main housing legislation and housing options, relating to homeless and vulnerably housed people.
- Knowledge of the skills and attitudes needed to support clients within a psychologically informed framework.
- A working knowledge of the main welfare benefits in the UK. (Desirable)
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures.
