Overall Job Purpose
· To support vulnerable clients who are residing at our 44 bed hostel, The Elms.
· To promote independence while delivering intensive support, to empower clients and enable them to take the next positive steps to rebuild their lives
Duties and Responsibilities
· To deliver high quality, structured, and effective interventions to ensure the client can maintain their licence at the hostel
· To support vulnerable client groups with multiple issues including housing, benefits and tenancy –related issues often managing situations which can often be complex
· To build relationships with the clients ensuring they feel empowered and motivated to help themselves
· Liaise with third party agencies and a range of service providers in order to establish, or improve, services for clients
· Develop and maintain effective working relationships, collaborating with all staff and volunteers, and work to achieve the DENS aims and organisational strategy
· The role involves attending meeting off site. A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

The Role

The Safe Haven Crisis Hub is an out of hours community crisis service, the Hub provides a safe space for individuals who may feel that they are at risk of a mental health crisis. The Safe Haven provides short-term support and social prescribing to individuals who are vulnerable and isolated into relevant support service pathways.

About the role
We’re looking for a warm, proactive organiser to help more women seeking sanctuary access our Touching Safe Ground programme — weekly trauma-informed yoga and English for wellbeing sessions in East London. You’ll reach out to asylum hostels, GP surgeries and community and legal services to connect with women who may benefit. You’ll support them in attending, help sessions run smoothly, and manage practicalities like childcare, refreshments and expenses. Do you have experience in working with vulnerable people with complex needs in a Housing, Hostel or Supported Accommodation environment?
We have a new Housing job opportunity where you will be working with a team of Housing professionals with the aim of supporting some of the districts’ most vulnerable adults to move on from temporary accommodation.
You will be managing all temporary and emergency accommodation placements on behalf of Cotswold District Council. The role involves working closely with homeless clients in various emergency accommodation arrangements. The aim is to assist these individuals in accessing affordable housing options and ultimately reducing the time they spend in short-term accommodation.
• You will be based primarily within one of our Hostels working intensively with homeless clients to enable them to access the full range of affordable housing options with the aim of reducing time spent in short term accommodation.
• The role involves travel across our district to visit homelessness households in their temporary accommodation (including Hostels and various B&B’s) with the aim of assisting them with maximising all of the housing options available to them to ensure that they are able to move on from temporary accommodation as soon as possible.
• Create bespoke ‘Tenancy Ready’ plans for each client and ensure that they have access to the appropriate support and resources to achieve this.
• You will also take part in assisting the Temporary Accommodation Supervisor in ensuring that full risk assessments are carried out on each client before being offered a placement in Council managed accommodation.
• Assist with the daily running of the homeless hostel’s, ensure repairs are promptly reported to the Property Service Team and assist with ensuring H&S risk assessments are up to date and adhered to.

A Hybrid Role
This role will work across both frontline delivery and input into the administration of the Duty system that underpins all HHPA’s work. It’s anticipated the worker’s role will be split roughly 50/50 across both elements of the work. Having a staff member working across both will give us a valuable insight into how frontline and Duty can work better together. It is also a good opportunity for the worker to gain experience in all aspects of project delivery, which could be a valuable first step for anyone interested in project management or leadership.
The Duty work
The HHPA Duty Team makes sure the Homeless Health Peer Advocacy service runs safely and smoothly. They handle bookings from partner organisations, match referrals with Peer Advocates, and organise all the practical details – like booking transport, giving travel directions, and confirming who will attend each appointment. They use a specially designed Salesforce database to keep track of appointments, update records, and measure the impact of the service. A key part of their job is running the Duty System, which checks Peer Advocates in and out of jobs so that everyone is safe and supported.
The team is also the main point of contact for partners, frontline staff, and volunteers. They answer questions, make sure referrals have all the right information, and keep everything running to schedule. They look after data security, maintain good relationships with partner agencies, and make sure volunteers and workers have what they need to do their work well. By taking care of the behind-the-scenes work, the Duty Team frees up the frontline team to focus on supporting people to attend healthcare appointments and improve their health.
The pan-London Caseworker work
We need this role to support people experiencing homelessness in Boroughs where support needs are extremely high, but where we don't have the capacity or flexibility through our other funding to meet their needs. Most of our Caseworkers are funded by individual Boroughs and can only work in that area. This role will be able to work in any of the Boroughs where we deliver HHPA so will give us the flexibility to go to where the need is greatest rather than being fixed in a single local authority area. As a more senior role in our HHPA service, the Caseworker will use their skills and experience to focus on people in the most complex and difficult situations, including those grappling multiple connected issues around physical and mental health, addiction, trauma, disabilities, and more.

Our client is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for vulnerable women affected by homelessness. They offer support to women with a range of complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health issues and domestic violence, and provide these support services in a warm, welcoming and secure environment. They are now recruiting for 2 Education, Employment and Training (EET) Workers to deliver meaningful activities and EET opportunities for women. Please note these roles are initially offered on a 6 month FTC until 31st March 2026.
As our client’s new EET Workers, you will work as part of a small, tight-knit team, delivering meaningful activities and employment, education and training opportunities to a variety of vulnerable women, mostly on a 1:1 basis. You will empower services users by developing life and employability skills and providing opportunities for involvement. Working with women mostly on a 1:1 basis but also in a group setting, you will facilitate sessions for women with varied support needs as well as effectively working with prospective partners across the homeless sector as well as external stakeholders including professional agencies, training providers and recruiters.
To apply for this role, you will have proven experience of supporting hard to reach service users, ideally in an employability capacity, although this is not essential. You will have experience of providing personalised, tailored, trauma-informed support to a variety of people with complex needs and will be warm and approachable in your manner. You will have the ability to motivate those with complex needs to engage with education, training, and employment opportunities and will ideally have experience of working with partner organisations to support the needs of NEET people and those at risk of NEET.

Join The Hepatitis C Trust – Make a Difference in Liver Health
The Hepatitis C Trust works nationally with peers who use their lived experience to raise awareness, provide training, and improve access to hepatitis C testing and treatment.
In partnership with the Royal Berkshire & Thames Valley ODN, we’re expanding our work to include a Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) surveillance and early liver disease detection programme in Royal Berkshire & Thames Valley.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in health services or working with volunteers.
- Has been affected by or supported someone with liver disease.
- Can work independently, engage with stakeholders, and drive community outreach.
In this role, you will:
- Promote liver screening and early detection in the community.
- Support patients through assessment and ongoing care.
- Coordinate workshops and raise awareness.
- Collaborate with local hospitals and outreach clinics.
Requirements:
- Full driving licence and own vehicle.
- Willingness to travel across the region.
- Passion for patient-led care.

We are creating a new Senior Women’s Caseworker role to deliver tailored health advocacy and support to women experiencing homelessness.
You will:
- Provide one-to-one advocacy for around 35 women annually across 11 London boroughs.
- Attend approximately 250 healthcare appointments each year with clients.
- Deliver 20 women-only health promotion sessions, reaching around 100 women.
- Co-create three new resources on women’s health with clients for wider distribution.
- Support the HHPA team to embed women-centred approaches into the broader service.
- Build and maintain partnerships with women’s services, NHS providers, and local authorities.
