Role Purpose

The Front of House & Security staff play a pivotal role within the Head Office of Mothers Union, called Mary Sumner House, acting as the primary point of contact for all visitors, tenants, and clients. This role is responsible for delivering a professional, secure, and high-quality front-of-house experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of a busy conference and office environment within a Grade II listed building in Westminster.

The postholder will ensure the effective coordination of meeting room bookings, uphold security and health & safety standards, and contribute to maintaining an exceptional environment that reflects the organisation’s values. Working independently and collaboratively, they will support the broader facilities and tenant management and conference operations.

Core Responsibilities

· To provide a professional, welcoming and secure “front of house” service for Mothers’ Union, acting as the first point of contact for all visitors, members, guests, tenants and clients.

· To maintain the security of the building and staff by monitoring access, CCTV and emergency procedures.

· To assist with meeting-room bookings.

· To deliver exceptional customer service and a premium experience for all tenants, clients, guests and VIPs.

· To maintain a safe, secure, welcoming and immaculate environment in line with brand standards and health & safety protocols.

Detailed Tasks

Front of House / Reception

1. Welcome visitors, guests, tenants and clients warmly and professionally, ensuring a first-class, personalised and memorable experience for every arrival and departure.
2. Manage VIP arrivals and departures with seamless, attentive and personalised service.
3. Greet and assist professionally; provide information, directions, to desired locations and general support as required.
4. Answer mainline overflow calls, in addition to routed room booking calls and respond to emails courteously, promptly and efficiently, redirecting or handling enquiries appropriately.
5. Deal with any queries or concerns from guests/clients with professionalism and problem-solving skills.
6. Create and maintain positive rapport and excellent professional relationships with guests, clients, tenants and team members.
7. Ensure all internal and external clients feel valued and supported at all times.
8. Receive, and distribute incoming post and deliveries acting as the building’s Post Master to include franking the outgoing MU related post.
9. Maintain general tidiness, cleanliness and a professional standard in all front-of-house areas and customer suites.

Security

1. Sign in all visitors and issue access passes to contractors in accordance with building procedures.
2. Maintain lobby presence and ensure entrance doors are covered at all times.
3. Assist in emergency situations (including fire evacuations, incident isolations and drills) and ensure common areas and fire exits remain clear.
4. Understand and strictly adhere to health & safety policies, security measures, building access control protocols and SOPs.

Conferencing & Meeting Room Support

1. To handle enquiries, take and manage bookings for meeting rooms.
2. In the absence of the Conference Manager, cover bookings, administration and liaison with the facilities team to ensure rooms are set up correctly with refreshments and AV equipment.

General MU Operational Support

1. Contribute to the continuous improvement of front-of-house services and operational processes within Mary Sumner House.

2. Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required by your Line Manager or Department Director, in line with the scope and responsibilities of the role to support the wider organisation.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London and does not fall under the organisational hybrid working policy due to the nature of the position.

Working pattern is flexible for the right combination of individuals, and will be agreed in conversation with the other candidate due to the nature of the job share.

We are looking to cover the hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday ideally split into morning and afternoon shifts to allow lunchtime cover, flexibility during busier periods and sustainability to provide appropriate cover for each other during periods of annual leave.

The role

This is a senior, externally facing post reporting to the Chief Executive. You'll manage a caseload of community-led housing projects, lead a small team of advisors, and work in partnership with communities, parish councils, housing associations, local authorities, landowners, and developers across East and West Sussex.

You'll also play a part in shaping Druv Homes, AirS's emerging housing association.

What you'll be doing

• Guiding community groups through all stages of the housing development process — from vision and site identification through to planning, funding, and scheme delivery
• Advising on site selection, RP partnerships, planning applications, S106 agreements, and funding strategies (both capital and revenue)
• Building and managing relationships with a wide range of partners — communities, RPs, local authorities, planners, developers, and agents
• Supporting communities to access funding and drafting bids where needed
• Overseeing professional advisers (architects, engineers, etc.) commissioned by community groups
• Leading project team meetings, maintaining project plans, and problem-solving
• Contributing to lobbying and sector advocacy alongside national partners
• Keeping pace with policy and legislative changes in affordable housing and community-led development

What we're looking for

Essential:

• At least 5 years' experience in affordable housing development
• A relevant degree (surveying, building, business management or equivalent experience)
• Proven track record in project management and scheme delivery
• Experience working with local authorities, RPs, and community organisations
• Team management experience
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

Desirable:

• Experience of rural affordable housing and community-led models e.g. Community Land Trusts (CLTs)
• Knowledge of rural housing policy
• Background in the not-for-profit sector
• Experience reporting to boards or executive teams

Practical

The role is based in Lewes with hybrid working. Regular but infrequent travel across East and West Sussex is required — a driving licence or equivalent transport access is essential.

You will provide appropriate emotional and practical 1-to-1 support to (those who identify as) women and non-binary people involved in sex work and those who are sexually exploited, who often experience stigma and face barriers to accessing services. • Reviewing financial records, reconciled balances, and drafted sections of the Annual Report.

About the role

As a Reception/Administrator for the Skylight, you will play a key role in supporting the Skylight team to support individuals that are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will ensure that the Skylight runs effectively and efficiently. You will be the first point of contact for anyone contacting the Skylight Centre and will provide a positive welcome to Crisis, being an ambassador for our services.

As a Reception/Administrator as part of the front of house team you will:

· Cover all reception responsibilities providing a safe and welcoming area for Skylight staff, clients and volunteers, providing effective Information and Guidance (IAG) to the vulnerable client group.

· Be responsible for the official opening/closing of the office in line with the H&S policies.

· Assess members at reception upon presentation and take appropriate action as to whether it is safe for them or others to access the service at that time utilising a trauma informed approach in line with confidentiality policies and procedures.

· Provide efficient and effective administrative and logistical support to the Crisis Skylight team, ensuring that all systems and structures contribute to the delivery of high-quality services to members and the smooth running of the office.

The key to success will be your ability to collaborate constructively and effectively as part of the Crisis team. 

Skills, knowledge, and experience vital to succeeding in this role:

· Experience of providing customer service and advice within a reception environment, with a commitment to deliver the highest standard of customer care. 

· Experience of working with vulnerable or marginalised groups, assessing need and providing information, advice and guidance.

· Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to successfully manage a busy and diverse workload. 

· Experience of providing administrative support including updating Case Management Systems, general office duties and maintaining accurate records. 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work successfully with disadvantaged /or socially excluded groups and individuals.

The Compliance & Recruitment Officer plays a vital role supporting the Recruitment and Compliance Team Partners to ensure that our recruitment and onboarding processes for permanent staff, temporary workers, and volunteers align with regulatory requirements and maintain the integrity and compliance of our hiring practice.

As a Compliance & Recruitment Officer you will deliver a high quality and responsive service to prospective candidates, recruiting managers and business stakeholders. In addition, you serve as a subject matter expert to the People Team and the wider organisation, ensuring that we prioritise the safeguarding of the children and young people right from the start of an employee’s recruitment and onboarding journey. 

Skills and Responsibilities 

On-Boarding & Compliance

• Coordinate all aspects of the onboarding and compliance process and ensure that the processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner, including: issuing contracts, pre-employment compliance checks, and keying new starters/setting up new starters on the onboarding system.
• Ensure the accurate entry and maintenance of data onto the relevant HR Systems/ spreadsheets, by employing robust quality assurance and due diligence measures.
• Be the subject matter expert for Access Recruit & Onboarding and Better Impact for the team, the candidates/onboardees and the wider organisation
• Monitor and maintain ongoing compliance requirements across staff files, including (but not limited to): Right to Work documentation (i.e. valid Visas and passports); Professional Registrations; Dr’s professional insurance, etc.
• Ensure that all aspects of DBS process are managed in accordance with policy/procedures
• Assist the Recruitment & Compliance Manager in preparing, analysing and producing relevant reports and statistics.
• Conduct audit checks on new starters, volunteer and temporary worker files and report back to team to ensure continuous improvement and accuracy of data collected.
• Coordinate and/or supervise a regular and continuous calendar of personnel file reviews and audits, to ensure and maintain regulatory compliance, and where relevant escalate non- compliance issues to the Compliance Partner and/or the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
• Assist in the coordination and delivery of an annual audit of CQC and Ofsted standards, across relevant business areas, e.g. The Children’s Trust School.
• Proactively maintain an up-to-date knowledge of our associated regulatory requirements, highlighting any updates and subsequent implications as soon as reasonably practical.
• Impart expertise and knowledge by delivering training sessions for new starters on compliance processes.
• In collaboration with the Organisation Development Team ensure the delivery of a seamless and engaging On-boarding and Induction experience for new staff and volunteers.

Recruitment & Selection

• Be responsible for the recruitment, on-boarding and compliance process for all types of permanent employees, Bank employees, temporary workers and volunteers. 
• Maintain the administration of recruitment and onboarding records, ensuring that these are complete and accurate
• Ensure all recruitment activities and the candidate life-cycle are underpinned by our Promises, whilst adhering to current employment legislation including Disclosure & Barring Service, Care Quality Commission, Ofsted, KCSIE and all policies and procedures
• Maintain an up-to-date list of vacancies, and ensure that all vacancies are advertised internally and/ or externally, in a timely manner.
• Support the Recruitment Team in the review and implementation of new and progressive recruitment initiatives, e.g. Employee Referral Scheme; Graduate Programmes; Apprenticeships; and overseas recruitment, with a view to increase the diversity and skill set of our workforce, across the organisation.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Partners with advertising vacancies, as well as the organisation and delivery of recruitment events and campaigns.
• Support the Recruitment & Compliance Manager with Bank Administrator recruitment and management of assignments.
• Supervise and coordinate the daily work tasks of team Bank Administration or Volunteer support, ensuring that all administrative aspects of the recruitment process are delivered to regulatory standards, on time and in a professional manner.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

People Team Support

• Where required, contribute to the collation of relevant recruitment and compliance data, ensuring that these are complete and accurate, in order to support the preparation, analysis and production of relevant service reports, e.g. recruitment KPIs, time to hire (on-boarding KPIs), SCR school reports, right to work/visa reporting.
• Build strong internal and external relationships and provide a first class, added value service, to all staff and external partners/ customers.
• Where required, provide additional support on specific People Team projects, as informed by and agreed with the Recruitment & Compliance Manager.
• Assist in the streamlining and automation of processes to improve operational efficiency

Citizens Advice Waltham Forest is part of the London-wide Debt Free Advice (DFA) project, funded by the Money and Pensions Service. We are looking for an experienced Debt Advice Caseworker to join our team.

As a long-standing partner in the DFA programme, we have over a decade of experience delivering high-quality debt advice to local residents facing financial hardship. 

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate adviser with a proven track record of supporting clients with debt and financial difficulties. You will be confident in delivering tailored, practical solutions and working with clients in a sensitive, non-judgemental way. Experience of providing debt advice in a regulated environment and working to quality standards is essential.

This is a hybrid role, combining face to face work at outreach locations and home working. You will deliver advice across multiple channels, including face-to-face, telephone, video and email.

You will provide appropriate emotional and practical 1-to-1 support to (those who identify as) women and non-binary people involved in sex work and those who are sexually exploited, who often experience stigma and face barriers to accessing services. You will be enabling people to access support and navigate services,  You will be working in partnership with other agencies and making appropriate referrals for people to access other services to support their wider needs. You will contribute to wider team responsibilities including outreach, drop in and duty. 

To provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited with a specific focus on those who are homeless and experiencing domestic violence and abuse. The women we support require intensive practical and emotional support as well as support navigating health and other social care or criminal justice systems. The women will have poor mental or physical health, experience with homelessness and of the criminal justice system, are often victims of sexual and/or domestic abuse and many are homeless. This post specifically will include a focus on domestic violence, sexual exploitation, sexual violence and housing. Working within a harm reduction ethos prioritising women’s safety and wellbeing, the intensive personalized supported will help women to access other services making appropriate referrals for women who wish to make changes, including exiting/transitioning out of sex work. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you are working with including where necessary challenging stigma and judgement women face.
