Key areas of responsibility

• Lead the day-to-day HR function providing support to staff across all areas of HR.

• Ensure HR policies are reviewed and updated to ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations and best practice. Develop new policies that are fit for purpose, legally compliant, and embedded within the team.

• Update, maintain and develop employee handbook, HR templates, processes, and systems to support the delivery of an effective HR function.

• Manage HR systems ensuring all records are maintained accurately and comply with GDPR.

• Oversee all recruitment processes.

• Oversee the entire employee lifecycle - from induction to exit - while implementing talent retention strategies, performance management systems, and succession planning.

• Oversee organisational volunteer management, ensuring compliance with policies and alignment with strategic objectives 

• Coach and advise line managers on people issues withing their teams from probation to sickness absence to performance.

• Manage grievances and disciplinary actions in accordance with policy.

• Lead on delivery of annual training plan and annual appraisal process.

• Manage outsourced IT contracts and service level agreements, overseeing IT and communications providers - including VOIP systems - while coordinating support and resolving issues as needed. 

• Oversee office supplies, contracts, and supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations. 

• Responsible for governance and compliance matters, providing comprehensive board support, and managing company secretarial duties, including filings and updates with Companies House and the Charities Commission. 

• Oversee and manage operational expenditures to ensure alignment with the allocated budget, while identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies.

Job Title: Support Mentor

Location: Face to face service based in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), the service is a short walk from Ladbroke Grove (Circle and Hammersmith) station. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday on a rota basis between 09:00 - 17:00 and 13:00 - 21:00. You may be required to work bank holidays and evenings as required.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Mentor to join our team based in RBKC to support our residents who have multiple and complex needs which could include mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds. You will support in providing our residents with the support needed to help them overcome their personal barriers, and achieve their goals in a person centred approach. You will work within a residential setting, creating a safe and comfortable space which our residents can call their homes during their time within the service. The role includes:

• Supporting residents with daily tasks
• Holding a caseload, conducting key work sessions which are personable to their needs
• Carry out regular welfare checks, safeguarding checks, and general living checks
• Encourage residents to take part in activities and events
• Keep support plans up to date on a regular basis
• Work closely with the rest of the team to provide overall excellent service delivery, this may mean also supporting with their caseloads, and other tasks as necessary
• Carry out general housing management support

About you

We're looking for someone who has a true passion to support those who have multiple and complex needs, with a drive to help support those who suffer with homelessness, mental health, and substance use. You will be able to build rapport and trusting relations in a professional setting, and able to build positive outcomes. You will have an adaptable and flexible approach to helping others, with an understanding that each individual has different levels and types of support needs. 

• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly around multiple and complex needs

Job Summary

Main Duties

Join Dementia UK as a Academy Learning Support Officer and be part of a team dedicated to improving the lives of families affected by dementia through the learning and development of Admiral Nurses.

Working closely with the Admiral Nurse Academy Support Manager and wider team, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality learning opportunities through our learning management system, Blackboard. This includes assisting the Virtual Learning Environment Design Officer in designing and building online courses and modules, supporting with storyboarding, content organisation and the development of interactive activities. You will use digital tools such as Articulate, Vyond and Padlet to help create engaging, accessible e-learning materials. You will also contribute to planning and progress meetings with the Academy team and subject matter experts.

You will help maintain our external-facing Dementia UK Academy platform, currently in development, by managing content updates, registrations, learner queries and event support. As first-line support for learners, you will also troubleshoot basic technical issues.

In addition, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of Admiral Nurse Academy activities such as webinars, masterclasses and both internal and external online events. This will include assisting with scheduling, coordinating logistics, updating project trackers and communicating with Admiral Nurses, learners and key stakeholders.

About you

We are looking for an experienced leader who has overseen teams delivering services to groups of vulnerable clients, in either a Criminal Justice, supported housing, support, care or other relevant environment.

• You should demonstrate a track record of effective operational leadership and management of staff across dispersed locations, working through a line-management structure, including through a period of substantial change.
• Your business/service development experience will demonstrate your ability to successfully manage contractual requirements, negotiate for contracts for the provision of services (either as a supplier or purchaser) and to win new business.

You will be working as part of a well-established team of colleagues, within the department and organisation. • Take responsibility for developing the major donor pipeline and drive forward new business opportunities to achieve sustainable income growth over the next 3 years

• Proven experience at managing a philanthropy programme with demonstrable success at growing income

We are recruiting for Floating Support Worker who will support the Ascent Pan London Service in building sustainable referral pathways and joint working protocols with a range of partners working with survivors of domestic abuse.

You will provide capacity-building in the form of advice, advocacy, support, and briefings across the London boroughs to statutory agencies and community organizations around the needs of  domestic abuse survivors, to embed best practice across our communities.

You will have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support to women as well as up-to-date knowledge of legislation relating to survivors of gender-based violence. You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player.

About the role:

We are looking for Night Support Assistants to join our dedicated Youth Services team, supporting young people aged 16 and over in Lewisham and Greenwich. Working in a supported accommodation setting, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for at risk young people and young people leaving care, helping them navigate their personal challenges and work towards their goals. Your presence and support at night are crucial to the overall wellbeing and development of the young people we serve.

In this role, you will oversee the overnight operation of our schemes, ensuring that the needs of each young person are met. You will be the first point of contact during the night, responding to incidents, emergencies, and any late-night activities. This responsibility is not only about keeping the service running smoothly but also about making a real difference in the lives of the young people in your care, building important nurturing relationships. Your guidance, compassion, and ability to handle situations calmly will empower them to feel safe and supported at all times.

The impact of this role is far-reaching, as you contribute directly to the success and safety of our service, helping young people overcome their challenges and make positive steps towards independence. Your work will ensure that the service continues to offer a stable, supportive environment where young people can thrive. As a Night Supported Housing Assistant, you will be at the heart of this critical support system, playing a pivotal role in both the day-to-day function of the service and the long-term growth and wellbeing of the residents.

Rota patterns: Greenwich: 38 hours over Wed, Thurs, Sat, Sun. Lewisham post 1: 31.5 hours over two patterns - Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. Lewisham post 2: 42 hours over Thurs, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

About you:

• Proven ability of successfully working with vulnerable young people or young adults at-risk.
• Experience of working in a team delivering a quality customer focussed service.
• The ability to manage complex/challenging behaviours and adapt your approach according to those varying needs.

Richmond Borough Mind is a vibrant local charity that has been supporting and providing services for adults affected by mental health problems and their carers for over 60 years. 

We are excited to be looking for a Young Adults Peer Support Worker. You will have your own lived experience of mental ill health and be able to use this experience as well as your professional skills and knowledge, to support others.

With the expansion of our work in this area we aim to reduce waiting times, reduce the number of people going into crisis, address inequalities and support transitions from youth to adult services. We will be offering holistic and personalised care and support to service users and carers.

This role will carry caseload and deliver a range of support and person-centred interventions to meet these needs, which could include group support, one-to-one interventions and signposting where specialist advice is needed. Referrals could be young adults, careleavers, people currently under adult mental health services, or carers supporting people in the community.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about motivating and coaching individuals with mental health issues, and able to support people on their journey to recovery. As well as having an empathy with the core values of RB Mind, the successful applicants will have the skills to provide person-centred support, through one-to-one sessions and through facilitating groups. You will have an awareness of the boundaries we work within when supporting vulnerable adults. You should be enthusiastic and self-motivated, and must be able to work on your own initiative.

This is a partnership project with South West London St George’s Mental Health Trust (SWLStG), locally led by Richmond Borough Mind. The Senior Media Officer is an important role in the media team. You will have responsibility for the development and implementation of a whole range of proactive media campaigns in support of our organisational strategy, and you’ll actively contribute to the successful running of our busy reactive press office. You will also deputise for the Media Manager as necessary.

As a Senior Media Officer, you will play a key part in the day to day running of a busy press office, and an active role in developing media campaigns and materials that meet the strategic needs of the whole organisation. Whether you are promoting our fantastic frontline services, collaborating with partners and income generating teams as part of our Winter Appeal, or leading the media strand of a political campaign, you will work in a truly integrated way with colleagues from across Shelter. Your enthusiasm, expertise, and collaborative approach to work will help to upskill other teams at Shelter to better understand and utilise the media to meet our shared goals.   

Creative and results driven, you will have extensive knowledge of media tactics and techniques (traditional, digital, video, photography, podcasts etc), and your communication skills will be second to none. You will be able to translate complex research and policy into pithy soundbites and key messages suitable for public audiences. Given the news agenda rarely waits for anyone, you will be used to thinking on your feet and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

You will be good at managing your own time and projects, but you will also have what it takes to support, enable and motivate others in the media team and across the organisation. A keen eye for risks and opportunities, and a strong attention to detail will help to ensure you and your colleagues deliver to a high standard. Finally, while prior knowledge of housing and homelessness is not a requirement, you will have a passion for social justice. There is a huge amount we need to achieve together, and you will thrive on this challenge.

The media team comprises of Head of Media, two Media Managers, three Senior Media Officers, two Media Officers, and an Assistant Media Officer.
