Job description

The post will include but is not limited to:


  • Presenting an excellent welcome to visitors and guests of Mercy UK and being the first point of contact for visitors, deliveries, telephone and email general enquiries. 
  • Welcoming guests and visitors to Mercy UK and working closely with the Administration Manager to make provisions for those guests and visitors. 
  • Providing administrative assistance for the smooth running of Mercy UK including, but not limited to, looking after the shared email accounts, room bookings, monitoring and completing online orders
  • Supporting and assisting the Administration Manager and providing administrative assistance to other departments where needed.

Facilities Support:

  • Assisting with Health & Safety matters and helping to ensure staff, guest and volunteer safety at all times.
  • Be an approved Fire Marshall and assist the Operations Department with fire safety matters, to ensure the safety of staff, visitors and volunteers at all times. 
  • Assisting the Operations Team with keeping the FOH clean and tidy and ensuring that the Cornerstone building and its shared spaces are presentable at all times.


  • Upholding and sharing the strong Christian foundation on which Mercy UK is built.
  • Working closely with all departments to assist with marketing, mailshots and the reordering of supplies
  • A willingness to remain flexible and contribute strength as a member of a wider team through providing cover where needed and in cultivating a strong and unified team culture.
  • A willingness to attend conferences, exhibitions or events as a Mercy UK advocate. This will include opportunities to engage, minister and pray with people-helpers as well as vulnerable individuals; attend different church expressions, worship and sermons and manning the Mercy product/information stand as part of a team. 
  • Commit to actively fundraise, create positive partnerships and raise the profile of Mercy UK.
  • Undertake training, attend staff meetings and show commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality, disclosure and safeguarding policies and use discretion at all times.
