About This Job

This is an exciting role in Army Cadet Headquarters which provides administrative support to the functional delivery areas of the syllabus. We are looking for a person to bring their skills, enthusiasm, and personal credibility to the team and support administration across both our volunteer staff and employed workforce.

This post is primarily to support DofE and First Aid but may, where required, be surged to cover short term administrative responsibilities for other activity areas.

This position is a permanent full-time post (40 hours per week) which will be home-based. However, regular travel across the UK attend events and meetings will be required.

Essential Skills

§  Experienced and skilled administrator and planner, who can work under own initiative in both office and remote environments.

§  Demonstrable success in establishing effective working relationship across a range of organisations at all levels.

§  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

§  IT literate; experienced user of Microsoft office with experience in using document management systems, such as SharePoint.

Our charity

ACCT UK is a national youth charity dedicated to improving the life chances of young people. The Combined Cadet Force Association (CCFA) is a charity dedicated to the promotion of the ideals and activities of the Combined Cadet Force in schools. Together we want to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence and be inspired through their cadet experience.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting learners with self-care and independence skills such as eating, drinking, washing, bathing, using the toilet, managing incontinence, dressing, mobility, and medication administration.
   
• Ensuring learners' care files are kept up to date and accurate.
   
• At the start of each shift, reviewing communication and log books, and liaising with staff at handover to ensure learners' needs are well documented and addressed.
   
• Establish supportive relationships with learners and encourage the development of stable relationships.
   
• Promote the emotional health and self-esteem of learners and support them through changes in their living situation and personal circumstances.

• Accompanying learners into the community to take part in social and recreational activities such as bowling, cinema trips, and dining out, helping them build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences beyond the college setting.

About the team

The media team strategically leads on both proactive and reactive media activity, engaging with journalists to support WaterAid’s mass engagement, partnerships, brand awareness and political influencing. 

As our Senior PR Manager, you will lead the public relations function for WaterAid and work closely with the three senior media officers you manage, to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Lead on developing and delivering innovative integrated, digital first PR campaigns that achieve impactful national, international, local and digital coverage, to support our fundraising and public engagement activities, build WaterAid’s profile, and align with wider organisational aims 

• Manage our media around our high-profile strategic partnerships to deliver media projects that meet shared objectives and help our partners become influencers in their sector to drive change 

• Work with the Celebrity and Influencer team to develop effective ways to work with high-profile supporters to build awareness of WaterAid and our work 

• Act as a media spokesperson for WaterAid as required, briefing journalists on and off the record and giving media interviews where necessary 

• Provide professional advice and support to colleagues in the UK, including our Chief Executive and within the WaterAid federation involved in media relations work, and identify opportunities to coordinate media moments across the organisation 

• Manage reputational issues where appropriate in coordination with the Head of Media 

• Write and edit copy as required for print and web outlets 

• Monitor and evaluate coverage and the wider impacts of our media work to guide future strategies 
• Build and maintain relationships with key journalists and broadcasters including the planning and managing of trips to country programmes with journalists, celebrities or for content gathering 

• Join the 24/7 on-call rota and be prepared for travel in the UK and overseas - usually around two weeks per year - as well as some work outside normal office hours, as necessary 

• Undertake any other responsibilities, tasks or activities as reasonably required, including deputising for the Head of Media

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Experience of leading, managing and motivating others and driving change 

• Considerable proven experience of working in an in-house media team or PR agency 

• Proven experience of creating and delivering effective and innovative integrated, multi-channel media campaigns with digital media at their core 

• Proven experience of liaising with journalists of all levels especially national and consumer media 

• Experience of utilising digital and social media to deliver PR objectives and aligning media work with owned, shared and paid activities 

• Proven ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure 

• Proven ability to organise, coordinate and evaluate successful projects 

• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others 

• Excellent verbal communication skills 

• Excellent command of written English to produce written media work of high quality 

• Ability to forge effective working relationships within the team, wider comms department and with colleagues from across the organisation as well as external stakeholders 

• Commitment to personal learning, development and improvement in pursuit of own objectives and those of the team and organisation

We are searching for a Peer Support Worker to join our mental health services. The role is a peer support worker, who use own lived experience of mental health difficulties to support others on their recovery journey through the facilitation of group based, peer support.

Our peer support and recovery services are a key element of the services we offer, and we are looking for someone who can use their own lived experiences to provide support to help individuals achieve their goals.

Service Delivery

• Facilitate Peer Support groups and ensure outcomes which support individuals
• with mental health and wellbeing needs across Luton in line with Mind BLMK’s agreed peer support model and service’s KPIs and contract requirements.
• To support the Service Manager, when required, by assessing individual’s suitability for attending the peer support service in the line with the organisations Access to Services process.
• Signpost individuals to wider services and encourage and support people to access local activities and community services.
• Use own lived experience of mental health challenges to show hope, empathy and understanding in a safe space where people feel accepted. Share ideas and approaches that support the improvement of mental health and wellbeing and embed this in working practices as a peer.
• Work closely with Service Manager to ensure that our peer support service meet the needs of Luton’s diverse community.
• Encourage and support client engagement with Mind BLMK through the influence and participation process, Guarantor Membership, and training opportunities.
• Contribute to maintaining an effective volunteer workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (workload planning and support).
• Carry out Cash Handling, Health and Safety and Data Collection responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures, requirements and guidance.

About the Role

Community Connectors work as part of an integrated, blended mental health offer to support people with emotional, social and practical needs to access a range of local, non-medical and non-clinical services, to improve confidence, social inclusion and independence.

This role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with statutory, third sector and NHS colleagues to support clients who are suffering from moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will need to have experience working with those suffering with mental health illness as well as being able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of the services, support networks and local resources that may assist in improved outcomes for those dealing with complex and enduring mental health issues. The ability to be adaptable, work independently and the resilience to work in some challenging environments are key attributes for this role.

Service Delivery

• Assess suitability for community connection support as part of a blended team approach and support individuals to access the service by utilising in depth knowledge of local voluntary and community services and networks in your respective area
• To work with individuals to coproduce a plan to address their mental health and wellbeing goals. Am enable people to achieve these goals through facilitating access and connecting with appropriate resources
• Enable people to access community resources which may include accompanying them.
• Offer support, guidance and help where possible to people to gain confidence, overcome initial fears and seek solutions to any barriers inhibiting attendance.
• Take a holistic approach, based on the individuals’ priorities and wider determinants of health that impact on their health and wellbeing, such as debt, poor housing, being unemployed, loneliness and caring responsibilities.
• To work as part of an integrated team to ensure the best outcomes for each person accessing the service.
• Identify and build good working relationships with the community groups, relevant services and activities for partnership work and signposting as well as keep updated information about them.
• Competently work as part of a blended team, under direction from Mind BLMK and ELFT, working with independence and in an agile way to support people with complex mental health challenges.

akt is the UK’s national LGBTQ Youth Homelessness charity. We provide safe homes, mentoring, and support to ensure that no young person needs to choose between a safe home and being who they are. 24% of young people facing homelessness in the UK identify as LGBT (National Scoping of LGBT Youth Homelessness, akt, 2015) and 78% of LGBTQ+ young people cited an absence of family support (The LGBTQ+ Youth Homelessness Report, akt, 2021). The charity was founded in 1989 and operates service centres in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Bristol and works online through a Digital Service to offer support to young people outside of our four office regions. akt works with over 800 vulnerable young people a year providing both face to face and online assistance.

The Team

This role sits within the Fundraising, Marketing and Communications team. We are a small team of passionate fundraisers, marketers and communications professionals with one goal - to find homes and better support for homeless LGBTQ+ young people. This role line-manages a Social Media Content Coordinator.

Job Summary

Please note there is one vacancy that can be done from any akt location (Manchester, London, Newcastle or Bristol). 

We are looking for a creative, outward-focused communicator to put akt on the map – developing stories and messages, and driving reach through strategic channel management, as well as ambitious celeb, PR and influencer partnerships.

With limited budget and resource, you’ll need to be strategic and inventive to make sure our cause is seen, heard and supported. You’ll also need to be rooted in LGBTQ+ online culture. You’ll be responsible for the management and content of akt’s ‘shop window’ – our social channels and website. You’ll advise the CEO and Director on the best strategy and opportunities for building akt’s reputation, presence and profile.

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.

The successful candidate willdeliver a high-quality service to young people aged 16–17 and their families across Hertfordshire, working alongside the Family Link Work and Mediation services to prevent family breakdown and reduce repeat homelessness. This is a fixed term maternity cover role (anticipating approx. 9 months) supporting ASAP’s duty representation scheme at the Asylum Support Tribunal (AST) – one of our three key strands of work.

Working within our duty scheme team, you will assist our Acting Duty Scheme Co-ordinator and Duty Scheme Support Officer with key operational tasks, ensuring that the scheme is offering a quality service to appellants and referrers and that our duty scheme advocates (volunteer solicitors and barristers) are supported to provide high quality legal representation and advice.

After induction and training, you will give one-off guidance and support to people within the asylum support system who self-refer to ASAP, and to referring advice agencies, about the asylum support appeals process. You will also assist with decisions about which cases we represent. As with all team members, you will feed into our wider work on training, asylum support policy and strategic litigation – primarily by ensuring that colleagues are kept up to date with issues arising out of appeals at the Tribunal.

We’re looking for someone passionate about helping people seeking asylum in the UK access justice. You should be well-organised, a good team player, and have a solid understanding of the asylum support system—ideally from directly advising people who use it. In this role, you’ll develop your legal knowledge and skills by: observing hearings, reading appeal documents and legal decisions, attending training sessions and team meetings.

You’ll be joining a small, friendly, and supportive team that works closely together.

Our Client is a UK charity supporting vulnerable women and families facing unexpected pregnancy or pregnancy loss. Through supported housing, a helpline and counselling service, and practical, non-judgemental support, this Charity helps pregnant women, often aged 16-25 and in crisis due to homelessness, abuse, or other trauma, build safer, more stable futures. Community Fundraising Lead - retention

Part time, 21 hours per week over 3 days

The Community Fundraising Lead will provide hands-on support and guidance to individuals and small volunteer groups across multiple regions, many of whom have championed the Charity for decades. You'll honour their values while ensuring the Charity's updated mission and messages are communicated clearly and consistently. Working with Marketing and Income Generation, you'll collaborate on projects, develop leads, and maximise fundraising activities with a strong focus on retention and long-term engagement.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will build on established networks, including loyal volunteer communities and church partners, overseeing initiatives such as our Ambassador programme so supporters feel confident representing the charity and sharing updates on national campaigns and community activities. You'll steward relationships at all levels, from pilgrim trek fundraisers to local bake-sale organisers, equipping volunteers with the tools, resources and recognition they need to thrive.

The successful candidate will be an empathetic, proactive relationship-builder with experience of community or volunteer-led fundraising and supporter stewardship. You'll bring strong communication skills, confidence working across faith and community settings, and the organisational flair to juggle multiple projects while maintaining excellent supporter care and compliance. About the role

We’re looking for a resourceful, experienced public affairs manager to join our dedicated team working to bringjustice, meaningful recognition and lasting health improvements to a community that has suffered as a result of the biggest treatment scandal in NHS history.

This is a rare opportunity to work for an organisation with a high profile within the political and health policy landscape with a 50-year track record of effective advocacy for our small community of people living with genetic and acquired bleeding disorders and their families. Most importantly, this role has the potential to directly improve peoples’ lives. 

Around two thirds of our members are impacted by the contaminated blood scandal of the 1970s and 80s, which was recently investigated by the Infected Blood Inquiry. The resulting report in 2024 recommended improved health resources for people with bleeding disorders as well as compensation and support for those infected and affected by the scandal.

Although significant progress has been made, there’s a lot more to do. Maintaining political pressure and keeping this issue in the public eye are essential to ensure our members receive the support and recognition they deserve. As public affairs manager you will bring energy, contacts, knowledge and ideas to strengthen and broaden engagement with MPs, peers and decision-makers. 

In addition to our infected blood work, you will support other projects, including challenging gender inequality in accessing treatment and care and ensuring that people living with rare bleeding disorders have access to the latest cutting edge technologies.

We are the only UK-wide charity for all those affected by a genetic bleeding disorder, a community of individuals and families, healthcare professionals and supporters.

For more than 75 years we have campaigned for better treatment, been a source of information and advice and supported people living with life-long conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop our public affairs strategy to forward the policy goals of THS 
• Translate the governmenthealth strategy and communicate its impact on the bleeding disorders community.
• Support the APPG on Haemophilia and Contaminated Blood, acting in capacity as THS secretariat to the group
• Develop and maintain relationships with MPs, peers and other health policy stakeholders. Recognising and creating opportunities to promote the work and strategies of THS and raise issues in the houses
• Working closely with the team to lead on the legislative changes which would impact on the infected blood community 
• Represent the interests of THS and its policies at parliamentary events and relevant stakeholder groups
• Represent THS in areas such as the life sciences,access to treatment and care in the UK
