Our coffee is roasted behind bars at HMP The Mount, and we reduce reoffending by: (1) employing prison residents in our roastery, (2) providing barista and technician training in UK prisons and the community and (3) employing prison leavers (our participants) in our 12 London coffee shops.
By providing paid employment, in-house case work support, and on-going training, we create an environment that supports our programme participants to lead a positive life away from the Criminal Justice System.
The role of Case Worker
Redemption Roasters is looking to appoint a dedicated Case Worker to deliver personalised support to participants employed across our London coffee shops.
In this role, you will meet one-to-one with participants to support their employment journey. You will use case work sessions to talk through concerns or challenges, discuss professional development and support participants to progress positively. You will play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment that enables participants to succeed.
The successful applicant will be offered comprehensive on-boarding and training, with opportunities to shadow experienced members of the Redemption Roasters team.
Duties
- Effectively manage a caseload of participants, delivering one-to-one support that is tailored to each individual’s needs and goals across all 12 shops.
- Support participants trained by Redemption Roasters (in-custody and the community) as they prepare for trial-shifts and look to move into employment.
- Visit Redemption Roasters training programmes in partner prisons to discuss employment opportunities and meet participants ahead of release.
- Build strong relationships with participants, whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
- Work collaboratively with the Redemption Roasters Shop Managers to support the professional development of participants employed in their shop.
- Utilise partnership working, signposting and referrals to other organisations to support the positive progress of participants.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for Redemption Roasters, leading annual policy reviews and ensuring best practice is followed.

- Experience working with and supporting vulnerable individuals with complex needs

Terms & Benefits

Strengthening The Future of Macclesfield’s Heritage moves the Trust towards this vision, strengthening fundraising capacity plus staff and board skills, to provide a solid foundation for the future.
The Trust has achieved a great deal over the last 5 years, securing funding from public sources, trusts, and foundations. This newly created role will build on this success and attract substantial support from individuals and corporate sources. It involves working with internal and external stakeholders to raise funds for core funding, projects, and capital campaigns. It is envisaged that the post-holder will work with Trustees and staff to establish a Development sub-group to inform and drive this work. Strategic planning and communications are key to this. This role will drive forward new plans for individual giving, philanthropy and fundraising to significantly rebuild the Trust’s reserves.
Role:

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Development
· Review and develop the Trust’s Development & Fundraising Strategy, identifying and pursuing fundraising opportunities, campaigns, and funding applications in line with this strategy, including:
o Trusts and foundations
o Statutory funders
o Corporate support and partnerships
o a new legacies programme, Supporters, and individual giving programmes
· Maximise income and in-kind support through fundraising activities onsite and online, including events and sponsorship, to engage current supporters and cultivate new relationships.
· Ensure that all fundraising activities are delivered professionally and timely to ensure maximum and meaningful engagement
· Manage the evaluation of fundraising activities and prepare and submit reports to key stakeholders.
· Deliver reporting for statutory funders, ensuring that the museum delivers on its reporting requirements in a timely manner.

The Prison Phoenix Trust
The PPT are the leading experts in yoga and meditation in prisons in the UK and Ireland. Since 1988 we have supported the personal development and rehabilitation people living in prison through meditation and yoga. We do this through 121 mentoring, group yoga classes, peer support newsletters and resources such as books and DVDs that help people practise yoga and meditation in their cells. We deliver the British Wheel of Yoga’s accredited training Teaching Yoga in Prison.
A small staff and volunteer team based in Oxford works with a network of self-employed yoga and meditation teachers across the UK and Ireland.
This new role is part of an expansion of the staff team to build the capacity of the charity to meet the growing demands for its services and the income to support this.
The role
At an exciting time for the expansion of the charity’s fundraising activities, the Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in driving and expanding the charity’s income from individual donors while leading the development and execution of community fundraising initiatives and events. This role is pivotal in building and nurturing long-term relationships with individual donors, cultivating new donor prospects, and developing innovative community engagement strategies, working with The PPT’s Development Lead.
The ideal candidate will be an energetic and passionate professional with expertise in donor relations, event management, and community fundraising. Responsibilities
1. Individual Fundraising
Innovate and implement a donor acquisition strategy appropriate for the values of The PPT.
- Implement an audience segmentation approach to building individual, regular and legacy giving, drawing on accurate analysis of data, using The PPT’s Access database.
- Project manage delivery of quarterly postal appeals including segmentation and targeting of messaging, mail-merge and printing, dispatch by volunteers or mailing house.
- Email marketing, including use of Mailchimp to segment audiences and target messages.
- Optimise The PPT’s use of JustGiving and other fundraising platforms, regularly reviewing performance.
- Optimise fundraising functionality of The PPT’s website and support colleagues in the development and procurement of a new website.
2. Community fundraising
- Manage and plan the growth of The PPT’s community fund raising activities, with a particular focus on yoga groups and faith groups.
- Review and develop cost-effective levels of support for fundraisers.
3. Donor care:
- Manage relationships with current and prospective donors and fundraisers by ensuring timely acknowledgment of gifts.
- Refine use of automated systems, such as Mailchimp and JustGiving to automate acknowledgement of gifts where appropriate, while ensuring optimum levels of personalisation, such as hand-written cards and notes. Fulfil established donor journeys, ensuring donor led and annual stewardship is met.
4. Data management, analysis and reporting
- Maintain and update The PPT’s supporter database, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date. Initially using Access and adapt with the move to a new database/CRM programme.
- Track, monitor and report quarterly on results of FR activities
- Support colleagues in the development and procurement of a new database and/or customer relationship management system.
5. Event Coordination
- Plan and project manage delivery of The PPT’s public facing, fundraising and donor stewardship events including planning, promotion, logistics, and follow-up.
- Integrate donor care into event planning, ensuring that donors feel personally valued and appreciated before, during, and after events.
- Work with Communications Coordinator in producing printed and display materials for events.
- Plan and project-manage delivery of The PPT’s presence at networking events for example in yoga, faith and criminal justice communities.
6. Communications and Marketing
- Contribute to development of social media audiences to meet charity’s profile-raising and fundraising objectives.
- Craft compelling messages and content for supporter communications that highlight The PPT’s mission and impact.

Reporting to: Rector

PURPOSE
The Communications Lead will develop and optimise each communications channel so that the churches of St Matthew and St Paul connect well with each other and the wider community.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with the Rector and other clergy and staff, the Communications Lead is responsible for the following:
1. Strategy & planning
- With the Rector, prepare and implement an annual communications plan around key events and special services for the parish
- Maintain and develop the parish’s visual branding and style
2. Communications channels
- Oversee the generation of content for each channel, edit content produced by others for accuracy and appropriateness, and produce content, as required
- Website – develop the website to optimise its usefulness [NB a new website design is underway]
- Weekly Email – produce the weekly Mailchimp email
- Social Media – maintain and grow audiences on Facebook and Instagram; schedule content using Meta business suite
- Magazine – create a fun and informative printed magazine in-house three times a year (currently done using Canva)
- Video – record a weekly video message with one of the clergy, for use in the weekly email; produce other videos as and when required
- Youtube – manage the parish’s Youtube channel
- Produce materials and promote services and events across key periods in the church’s calendar (e.g. Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter), through printed and online channels
- Promote the parish’s outreach groups and events (e.g. Coffee Pot, Bumps & Babies, Have a Meal on Us and Community Day), through printed and online channels
- Produce other printed materials as necessary (e.g. leaflets, posters, flyers and roller banners), in keeping with our branding
- Photography – take pictures when required, adhering to the parish’s safeguarding and consent policies; organise church volunteers to capture images when necessary
3. Other responsibilities
- Staff the church office on Tuesdays and Thursdays (e.g. answering calls and questions from volunteers and/or people hiring the hall).
- Liaise, as necessary, with the diocesan and cathedral communications teams
- Complete all necessary training and comply fully with all safeguarding, health & safety and risk management procedures

Summary and key purpose
This new role will be primarily responsible for developing, marketing and managing our individual giving together with working across other fundraising disciplines. You will be a key member of our fundraising team, producing compelling fundraising communications, stewarding individual donors, including regular donors and gifts in memory. You will ensure that our donors receive excellent care.
Our Individual Giving programme will incorporate one-off donations, regular giving, digital fundraising, appeals and in-memory giving. You will do this, with the support of our recently appointed fundraising agency, who you will manage our relationship with week by week.
A critical element of the role will be how we market ourselves to potential new donors, taking them on an emotional engagement journey in order to solicit regular gifts.
Your expertise and skills:
To excel in this role, you will need prior experience of working in a fundraising setting, with an understanding of good stewardship practices. You should be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, working across teams and meeting multiple deadlines. Your excellent relationship management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and gather information on new projects. You must have a thorough understanding of individual giving, developing donor journeys and experience of work with agencies.
Key responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of the regular giving programme, project managing appeals and overseeing the thanking process for individual donors.
- Create, plan, deliver and evaluate multi-channel, compliant, insight-led, supporter-centric campaigns to engage and drive action from new and existing supporters.
- Manage our newly appointed fundraising agency, and in doing so, help deliver an ambitious appeal programme and income target.
- Review and develop operational plans for individual giving (including regular giving, in memory, digital fundraising and appeals) working to achieve agreed targets.
- Communicate and document key performance indicators across individual giving appeals. Ensuring you provide commentary to accompany results reporting, drawing on insights and the wider picture to add context and make recommendations from your learnings.

South London Citizens
South London Citizens (SLC) is Citizen’s UK second oldest chapter, established in 2004. SLC has over 100 member institutions spread across seven south London boroughs, working together for the common good.
South London Citizens has developed 1000s of local leaders through training and action teams and won big national campaigns, for example delivering free school meals for children whose parents have no recourse to public funds.
The Living Wage campaign is part of SLC’s DNA and in the last 12 months a campaign to bring the Living Wage Campaign to the Southbank has delivered well over 1000 pay rises to south London workers. The Real Living Wage is currently £13.85 in London, compared with the National Minium Wage of £12.21 (for workers aged over 21).
Community Organising
Through our theory of social change, called community organising, we train thousands of everyday people to lead change in their communities, equipping them with the skills to hold politicians and other powerholders to account. We are made up of 500+ member organisations in powerful alliances throughout the UK. Our members include schools, universities, faith groups, parents’ groups, health practices, charities, trade unions and other civil society organisations.
Purpose
The principal responsibility of an Associate Organiser is their own development: learning the craft of Community Organising under the guidance of an experienced Community Organiser. They work intensively with a small number of member organisations under close supervision, growing their experience, skill and responsibility incrementally. An Associate Organiser is working towards becoming a competent practitioner of the craft of broad-based community organising methodology, and focuses on the building of relational power, the recruitment and retention of dues-paying institutions, the development of leaders, the strengthening of member institutions, leader-led public actions, and the winning of systemic change.
This role is particularly to organise around the issue of low pay and precarious work and participate in Citizens UK’s flagship campaign, the Living Wage Campaign. We need someone who can speak Spanish as well as English, as south London’s Latin American communities are leading the work in South London. There is scope to involve leaders in campaigns around housing, health and migrants' rights, as we recognise that people affected by low pay are very often determined to take action on wider issues beyond work. The purpose of the role is to develop leadership, especially grassroots leadership, workers from London’s lowest paid sectors, that can power the campaign. Crucially the Associate Organiser will work with colleagues in South London Citizens to build and execute a strategy that develops powerful leaders for South London Citizens and wins the Living Wage, Living Hours and other material gains for thousands of workers across the capital.
Main Responsibilities
Working as an Associate Organiser in South London for Citizens UK, reporting to the Lead Organiser, South West, SLC, your main responsibilities will include:
Build relational power to further the goals of CUK

Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive power analysis appropriate to the desired sphere of influence for each project/assignment

Establish working relationships with identified leaders and demonstrate ability to move them into action, including as part of the wider alliance; taking the initiative to establish new relationships as required

Conduct one-to-ones to develop relationships with leaders and understand their concerns.

Tell a wide range of Community Organising stories effectively to influence others and achieve CUK’s goals

Our Organisers and some project teams work closely with our member institutions and will be expected to attend member events that take place in the evenings and occasional weekends. We operate a Time Off in Lieu approach and have very flexible working arrangements to ensure a good work-life balance.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND PURPOSE OF THE POST
As part of our ambitious plans to significantly increase private fundraising, we aim to achieve a step-change in our income from partnerships and philanthropy.
As Major Giving Officer, you will:
- Collaborate with the Global Specialist in Major Giving (based in the UK) on the delivery and implementation of an ambitious major-giving programme for HI UK, encompassing trusts & foundations, major donors and corporates, in line with UK and Federation priorities.
- Research and identify opportunities, write proposals and secure five- and six-figure major gifts from a diverse and sustainable base of major givers from the these income streams.
- Provide excellent cultivation of prospects to produce committed, long-term donors.
- Manage existing partnerships and donors to a high standard.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
General
- Work closely with the Global Specialist in Major Giving and the other Major Giving Officer to further develop major giving as a sustainable income stream in the UK, including launching and running a Capital Campaign.
- Manage data relevant to your role, keeping our database (CRM) up to date and accurate, and mining it for new prospects.
- Build your knowledge of the wide range of our work – both thematically and geographically – so you can communicate and present with expertise to donors and prospects.
- Attend relevant networking groups, external events and meetings to make contacts and represent HI UK.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of high-quality cultivation events for prospects and donors.
- Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required.
Trusts, foundations and high net-worth individuals
- Update existing research and carry out new research to find our top trust, foundation and high net-worth individual prospects, prioritising six-figure and multi-year donors.
- Connect directly with targeted prospects through networks, introductions and events.
- Build relationships with prospects through personalised communications: face to face, on the phone and written.
- Deliver excellent relationship-management to existing partners and donors to ensure loyalty and year-on-year renewal.
- Produce high-quality and engaging proposals and presentations for meetings with prospects and donors.
- Write and submit approximately two high-quality proposals per month for five- or six-figure sums (multi-year donations preferable) from targeted trusts and foundations.
- Source information about each project’s impact and write and submit regular reports according to the agreement with each partner organisation or individual.
- Ethically screen our prospects, in line with our ethical standards and processes.
- Liaise with the Federal fundraising team in Lyon for project content.
Other duties
- Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with HI UK colleagues, the Federal fundraising and communication teams, and Major Giving counterparts in other HI national associations in Europe and North America.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and high standards.
- Keep up to date and adhere to any changes in legislation, regulatory procedures, innovation, best practice and industry standards in relation to private fundraising.
- Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required by the Global Specialist in Major Giving.
