The roles are:
01. Development Officer
The Development Officer will play a vital role in supporting the progress of CVS Brent’s Development and Funding strategy. Our mission through this role is to find stability and encourage growth, with strong partnerships across sectors that support the delivery of exceptional VCSE services. The development officer will be key to developing these partnerships.
Hours: 21pw * 26 weeks
Rate: £30ph (self employed basis)
02. Funding Officer
The Funding Officer will play a vital role in supporting the development of the charity’s funding strategy. Our mission through this role is to find stability and encourage growth. This role is critical in helping raise essential funds, with a target being securing funds from grants philanthropic organizations and other income within the contract period.

The service offers specialist support to homeless men across a range of areas including re-offending behaviour, mental health issues, physical health needs and substance misuse. Edward Alsop Court implements and promotes the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) model. This is an approach to supporting people out of homelessness, those who have experienced complex trauma or are diagnosed with a personality disorder. It also considers the psychological needs of staff: developing skills and knowledge, increasing motivation, job satisfaction and resilience.
As a maintenance worker, you will be responsible for small responsive/maintenance items (for example replacement of bulbs, batteries, tightening of screws etc) to internal elements and components; PAT test items; internal decorations; cleaning of communal spaces; removal of minor items; fixture and fittings such as shower curtains, mirrors, bathroom fittings (toilet seats, toilet rolls holders etc); assembly furniture; bins removal; there will be a weekly rota with tasks allocated to each day which will be given weekly; support with shopping deliveries.
The working hours for this role is: Monday to Friday 8am-4pm

* Carry out weekly checks (water checks, fire call points check, fire doors check, lint removal from laundry room, emergency lights check, fire extinguishers check, communal areas check, courtyard cleaning, fire escapes check).

About the role
The Centre for Ageing Better is looking for a talented Deputy Director to lead on work, retirement and transitions. Overseeing a programme of research, policy development, influencing activity and a growing employer network you will be leading our work to ensure equitable access to decent work for those aged 50+.
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the UK labour market policy and the implications and opportunities for those aged 50+. You will be skilled at developing strategy and leading a multi-disciplinary team to translate it into an impactful programme of work. You will be comfortable working externally to build relationships and make the case for change to policy makers, potential funders and in the media, and you will bring research expertise and experience of developing and delivering research projects using a variety of methods.
It’s an exciting time to join us and as a member of our senior management team you will help shape our organisation over the next few years, support our fundraising and business development activity, and lead cross-organisational networks and activity.

Transform lives with The Nehemiah Project! We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate person to join our team as a Recovery Practitioner. For this recruitment cycle, we particularly welcome applications from men, as they are currently underrepresented in our team, and this role involves close work with a male-only client group. This is a full-time permanent position, working Monday to Friday with additional monthly on-call duties. In return, you will receive a salary of £31,990 per annum, be enrolled into our staff health and wellbeing package, and become part of our Nehemiah culture that is supportive, honest and incredibly rewarding.
What we are looking for
- Someone who is skilled in delivering a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to their work
- Experience working with people in recovery from addiction, including voluntary or lived experience. We are open to a range of experiences that demonstrate understanding and empathy in this area.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social or equivalent experience in a support setting. We value transferable skills, even if gained outside of formal qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and an understanding of Customer Relationship Management systems (such as Salesforce) to ensure accurate record-keeping

Ascension Community Trust (ACT) is a much-loved community-based charity in Custom

You will work two days a week with Newham District Foodbank strategic partners to mobilise
volunteers across our three delivery sites, and one day a week to support volunteer
involvement across the rest of ACT. You will need to be able to think outside the box to spot
opportunities – across all our projects – to invite volunteers to join in with our mission,
whether that’s regular volunteering, one-off projects or using their skills to help us with
strategy or communications.
You will also need to be methodical, making sure references are taken up and DBS-checks
are completed, as well as tracking and recording volunteers’ training. To make this easier
you will help us implement the ‘Assemble’ volunteer management software across Newham
District Foodbank’s three partners.
