Job Title: Service Manager
Location: Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC)
Salary: £38,700
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. Onsite face to face service, with flexibility around these hours required. All managers, including this position will take part in the out of hours on call duty.

About the Service Manager Role

What we're looking for in a Service Manager:

- Confident leadership skills and ability to inspire and motivate a team. While you’ll have support from management, this role requires someone who can take ownership and lead with confidence
- Confidence in using IT; we use various systems and software's so need someone who is confident in learning new IT skills and can navigate around computer systems
- Ability to drive the service forward and implement improvements
- Confidence in managing complex situations and making decisions

West London Crisis Recovery House is Registered Care Home, working in a recovery model. The services are staffed 24/7 and offer support to the residents aged 18 and upwards.
The Role
- To promote independence by supporting service users to move on positively.
- Develop networks across West London to build strong move-on pathways from the WLCH.
- Ensure discharge KPI timescales are adhered to within the WLCH.
Key Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with Team Managers to develop strong community links, ensuring effective housing support for all residents.
- Directly run, manage or supervise groups or activities as appropriate.
- Effectively manage a service user caseload by prioritising workload.
- Organise and provide purposeful one to one service user action planning sessions and reviews.
- Directly run, manage, or supervise activities and groups designed to support residents in the discharge process and their integration into previous or new living arrangements.
- Adhere to the Community service referral procedure.
- Using their processes, provide a needs assessment, risk assessment and risk management plan for each individual service user.
- Where appropriate refer service users to other support services e.g. housing, counselling, CAB etc.
- To increase service users’ independence and self-esteem, promote and encourage access to services that develop personal wellbeing, health, and life skills training
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained as detailed in their Confidentiality Policy.
- Participate in key aspects of the Service as requested by the Team Manager.
General Accountabilities
Administration:
- Maintain appropriate paperwork as required by the organisation and by the Commissioners who fund the day services.
- Provide copies of individual support plans and reviews of same to referrers.
- Accurately contribute to service monitoring systems.
- Maintain accurate service user’s records.
- Observe any written policies, procedures and guidelines for good practice issued by the organisation.
- Provide regular reports as required to the Team Leader.
- Ensure the petty cash procedures are used when money is spent locally on groups/ activities and other resources.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and their Health and Safety policies and procedures
Liaison:
- Liaise with appropriate statutory and voluntary agencies and provide information as necessary.
- Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with local community groups, resource providers, and partnership organisations.
- Present the Community Link Worker and the Day Service in a professional and positive way to external organisations.
- Attend local meetings and conferences of relevance to the service.
Supervision and Training:
- Accept regular support and monthly supervision from line management.
- Attend training courses and events as required.
- Attend and contribute to staff team meetings.
- Assist as requested in the selection of volunteers.

Waltham Forest Advocacy & Support Services (SASS) provide free and confidential support to survivors of abuse within the community. Our team offer information, advocacy and specialist services to increase safety and meet a range of needs – these can include ongoing safety concerns, emotional or housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits and financial advice. As part of the support we also ensure survivors can access therapeutic support via the Waltham Forest Therapeutic Marketplace.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen in this busy team for a Duty Worker. The successful candidate will be responsible in dealing with all incoming referrals and queries to the Advocacy Service. The role will involve processing all referrals, liaising with professionals, establishing initial contact as per the service’s contract requirement. The process of initial contact will involve completing a SafeLives risk assessment, assessing the service user’s practical and therapeutic needs and supporting with any urgent needs that arise during this contact. Additionally, the duty worker will make appropriate referral out, this includes MARAC and complete adult and child safeguarding referrals where required in line with Solace’s policies and procedures. The Duty Worker will maintain and manage any waiting list and will work closely with all members of the team in relation to the allocation of cases and case updates.
About You
Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on service users and their children, and experience of working with women who have experienced domestic and/or sexual abuse. It is essential that you have experience of using Office Excel and case management system. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

About the role
This role is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting those who struggle with complex needs, substance use, and dual diagnosis. We are looking for someone who can work flexibly to support residents and participants who struggle to engage with the support available to them through various providers. You will be at the heart of engaging our participants to regain motivation and the strength to step down from acute psychiatric wards and other supported living, by empowering them with the relevant skills and knowledge to support their journey. You will support them towards achieving their personal goals including independent living. You will be based across various homes, hospitals, wards, and supported living accommodations based around Lewisham.
You will provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve more safer, integrated communities for our stakeholders. The areas of support will include: Prevention, Transition, Activities of Daily Living (ADL), Support, and Social Inclusion.
This role will work alongside South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLAM) who provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK. They also provide substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol with 4,600 staff serving a local population of 1.3 million people.
- Support a caseload of participants, contribute to the development of support plans, risk assessments and reviews.
- Positively promote the pathways available towards independent living within the community. Ensure participants understand what tools and resources are available to them to regain independence.

Young People Support Worker
We have a new role available for a Young People Support Worker to work as part of a team delivering an assessment, support and move on service to vulnerable clients in the Brixton.

About the Role
As Young People Support Worker you will be working alongside support team to provide accommodation and support services for young people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping. You will be responsible for all aspects of the support planning, risk assessment and move-on for a small caseload of 4-5 residents, addressing their physical, emotional, social and behavioural needs and helping them progress towards independence.
Working under the direction, guidance and support of your line manager, you will be responsible for a small caseload of complex needs clients, as well as share responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of all clients, volunteers and staff in the service.
You will ensure that the accommodation is properly maintained and support the client to sustain their tenancy and participate in positive and successful move on.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients, following safeguarding and emergency procedures as needed.
- Act as key worker for a caseload of clients, leading on risk and needs assessments and SMART, outcomes-based support plans.
- Provide personalised, flexible, and creative support, involving clients in decision-making and encouraging participation in activities.
- Collaborate with external agencies to support clients, adhering to data protection and information sharing protocols.
- Support clients to access Education, Training, Employment, and Volunteering opportunities aligned with their goals and aspirations.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, including preparing accommodation for new clients and supporting their transition.
- Assist in coordinating and supporting volunteers and promoting client involvement initiatives and residents' meetings.
- Maintain clear, accurate records and participate in team rotas, including evenings and weekends, carrying out additional duties as required.
About You
You will need to have the following skills and experience:
- Experience of working with clients with mental health and or drug/alcohol dependency issues.
- Ability to work with clients whose behaviour may be personally challenging.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with clients.
- Experience working in partnership with multi agency teams, including social workers, immigration and mental health professionals.
- Knowledge of risk assessments, support planning, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, IT skills, and commitment to diversity, equality, and professional integrity.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries, work collaboratively, and reflect on practices for continuous development.
