Salary: £23,970 per annum (Full Time) rising to £24,480 per annum after successfully completing six-month probation period

Accountable to: Project Manager
Purpose of the post:To provide specialist, trauma-informed support to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness because of experiencing domestic or sexual abuse, harm or violence
Specific responsibilities:

Deliver specialist, trauma-informed support to a case load of adults and families, recognising the impact of domestic or sexual abuse, harm or violence, and responding with empathy, respect, and consistency. #

Contribute to an environment where support is psychologically informed, compassionate, equitable, and grounded in integrity—where every individual feels safe, heard, and supported.

Respond to safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and organisational policies, maintaining a trauma-informed, non-judgemental stance that prioritises dignity and emotional safety.

Work collaboratively with the team to provide Hwb cover in line with the agreed rota, ensuring individuals can access planned or emergency appointments, either in person, on the phone or online.

Receive referrals into the service and carry out Initial Contact Assessments collaboratively, identifying the most suitable support options based on individual needs and preferences. Complete risk assessments and develop risk management plans, including the SafeLives DASH risk indicator and safety planning.

Work closely with the team to manage and maintain the outreach waiting list, ensuring timely updates, regular contact, and effective triage for individuals.

Work in partnership with individuals to identify support goals and outcomes, co-developing and regularly reviewing needs assessments, risk assessments, and support/safety plans

Provide clear advocacy, signposting and referrals to internal and external services, guided by the individual’s expressed needs, interests, and readiness —such as social services, police, parenting support, health, legal advice, DWP, housing, education, recreation, and Cyfannol’s internal services (e.g. group work, sexual violence services, counselling).

Build and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with external agencies, and attend multidisciplinary meetings to promote the needs and rights of individuals through trust and partnership.

Maintain factual, person-centred, accurate, timely, and confidential records of all casework and service activity, using Cyfannol’s Case Management System and other internal records

Contribute to audits and reporting, engaging positively supporting service evaluation and development and recognising the value of reflective learning and continuous development.

About the Role
We're looking for an Engagement Worker to join our residential service based in Havering which is a 25 bed, 24 hour service delivering support to adults who have multiple and complex needs within a supported accommodation setting. You will support with various aspects within the service, with a focus on providing social contact and company to help enhance quality of life, personal safety, health and security, sustainment of tenancy and improving financial independence. You will support our residents to gain the relevant skills and knowledge to gain greater independence, supporting them back into the community.
You will be at the forefront of delivering a trauma-informed, person-centred service, supporting individuals through rehabilitation, reablement, and resettlement. This includes assisting with engagement activities, developing support plans, and providing access to appropriate interventions to help residents move towards independence.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supporting residents to access the resources, tools, and networks they need to achieve their goals.
- Develop, participate in, and encourage residents to participate in the running and development of various projects and activities.
- Promoting independence through life skills training, practical support, and empowerment.

About the Refugee Lodgings Programme
This new pilot programme will provide safe, supportive lodgings for newly recognised refugees. You will spearhead the development of this project: building partnerships, recruiting and supporting landlords, ensuring refugees receive wrap-around support, and establishing the model for long-term expansion.
This is a unique chance to shape a programme from the ground up and to make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Coordinate the Pilot
- Plan, deliver and monitor the 6-month pilot programme.
- Develop referral pathways, matching protocols, KPIs and reporting tools.
- Produce evaluation reports to shape future funding and growth.
Build Strong Partnerships
- Work closely with local authorities, VCFSE partners, housing organisations, GMCA, Mustard Tree, Boaz Trust and community groups.
- Convene a Steering Group, including people with lived experience.
- Represent the programme at networks, forums and events.
Recruit & Support Landlords
- Deliver a recruitment campaign and vetting process.
- Coordinate checks, training, inductions and ongoing support.

Support Refugees
- Oversee transparent referral and eligibility processes.
- Work closely with GTM Support Workers to ensure wrap-around welfare, housing and integration support.

- Promote trauma-informed, culturally sensitive practice.

Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in project coordination or management in the voluntary, housing, refugee or homelessness sectors.

This role is a 12-month FTC maternity cover.
Look Ahead's Hammersmith & Fulham Mental Health Service is a Mental Health supported accommodation which is a pathway service for people to work towards their independence.
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting our residents to help them to enhance life skills and increase independence and manage their health. This also includes tenancy management and other life skills.
Support Workers in the service work across all 3 projects in Hammersmith and Fulham; working with customers with varying levels of support needs. Many of the customers have complex needs including dual diagnosis and Support Workers are expected to liaise with other agencies within the borough to best support customers. Support Workers are expected to support customers on their journey to independence in a person-centred, non-judgemental way, whilst adhering to the Look Ahead core values.
The work schedule for this position follows a 5-week rotating pattern. It involves working on weekends and bank holidays. In this 5-week cycle, there are two weekends off and one full weekend of work.

Oaklands & St Kilda's is made up of two newly refurbished six-bedroom homes, located close to each other in Ealing, West London. We work with up to 12 young people at a time, providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Many of the young people joining us are moving on from hospital, stepping down from more intensive placements, or transitioning from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services to Adult services.
We deliver 24-hour trauma-informed and psychologically informed support. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will take a lead role in supporting young people with more complex mental health presentations - using advanced judgement to identify changes in presentation, contribute to risk planning, and confidently engage with clinical professionals to ensure the right interventions are in place.

Essential:
Significant experience supporting young people or adults with complex mental health needs, ideally in hospital discharge, step-down or supported accommodation settings.

About the role
The Lead Worker - Coaching role at Crisis Skylight South Wales is a varied and fulfilling role. You will assist people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless by assessing their needs and offering appropriate interventions (coaching, information, advice and guidance, advocacy and direct support) and use a variety of communication skills to develop, follow and review a personalised plan to end their homelessness sustainably.
You will have access to regular one to one supervision sessions and facilitated reflective practice sessions to support the positive impact of the role; working collaboratively with internal colleagues and external services is also an important aspect of the role to ensure that individuals are able to access the services they need.
About you
- Ability to motivate and encourage individuals to maintain their access to the service by working through the changes they have identified and supporting them to recognise their progress.
- Current knowledge of health and safety issues and safeguarding procedures to ensure a safe environment is provided for individual’s accessing the service, staff, volunteers, supporters and visitors.
- Being able to support team members, including volunteers, by sharing your knowledge and skills and by working constructively together to end the homelessness of the individuals accessing the service.
- Ability to collaborate with partner organisations to maintain service knowledge, referral pathways and manage safeguarding concerns. When necessary, advocate for individuals to ensure that they are able to receive, engage or continue to access services appropriate to their needs.
- Knowledge and experience of coaching which assists individuals experiencing homelessness through a process of strengths based personal change; coupled with the ability to recognise when other interventions like IAG, advocacy or direct assistance may be needed.
- You may have experience in working within a relevant sector such as homelessness, mental health, drug and alcohol treatment, criminal justice, domestic abuse, modern day slavery or employability support. You may also hold or develop one or more areas of expertise such as housing access, homelessness / housing legislation, welfare benefits, employment support, health services, drug and alcohol treatment, MAPPA, MARAC or criminal justice services. This may enhance the effectiveness of the services’ ability to support members and engage effectively with partners.
