Summary of the role:
The HR Officer will be responsible for providing support to the Senior HR Business Partner and the wider People and Culture team in the delivery of HR services. The role will focus on a range of HR activities including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, aspects of payroll, L&D, travel logistics and other generalist HR duties. A key part of the role will be to provide support in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet all Muslim Aid’s staffing needs.
About the Role:
- Ensure a smooth, efficient and welcoming onboarding and probation process for new employees.
- Facilitate the recruitment process by assisting hiring managers in meeting departmental needs. Responsibilities include crafting job descriptions, posting ads, screening candidates, and conducting interviews.
- Provide advice and guidance to employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Prepare payroll amendment sheets for UK and International staff.
- Assist with performance management processes and employee relations issues.
- Support HR analytics requirements to track performance metrics.
About You:
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role, in particular recruitment and employee relations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of recruitment techniques and good practices.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and HR good practices.

About the HR Officer role:
We are looking for a self-driven, highly motivated team player to join our HR department.
This is a generalist HR role, working closely as a critical member of the small HR Team. Your focus will be on tasks such as ensuring the accurate input of the monthly payroll process and pension submission, drafting correspondence (including change of terms letters, contracts etc), managing employees mandatory checks, supporting with employee training bookings, supporting the starters and leavers process, supporting with some recruitment if required and working on ad hoc HR Tasks.

- Being first point of contact for all payroll queries. Managing and processing payroll on a monthly basis. Liaising with HR team and Employees/ Managers in regards to any payroll queries. Liaising with external payroll company Cintra to process payroll.
- Processing pension submissions on a monthly basis, following payroll completion that month.
- Drafting any change of terms letters, probation letters, supporting in investigation meeting where needed. Drafting invitation letters to meetings, outcome letters as and when requested.
- Carrying out HR Induction for all new starters and sending out welcome emails and co-ordinating the company induction.
- Supporting with booking in employee training and employee training requests, as well as booking in quarterly Company Inductions.
Requirements:
- HR generalist experience supporting a busy HR team including processing of new starters, leavers, data input, advice and guidance, employee training.
- Experience in monthly payroll input and checking and knowledge of payroll processes.
- Strong organisational skills – the ability to juggle a demanding workload and manage priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and the drive to get things right first time.

My client, a fantastic national Charity now has an urgent interim requirement for a Senior HR Adviser to join their HR team for an initial 3-6 month period. Please note, this role offers fully remote working and requires a full-time, 35 hours per week commitment.
