We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in this newly created 18 month fixed term contract.

Your role will be to plan, design, and deliver data analysis activities to draw insight from a range of sources which can be used to inform policy, research, campaigns, and service delivery. Using data science, you will help design new solutions to complex challenges facing the armed forces community and those who support them, and be at the heart of building and understanding the evidence base to inform RBL’s future strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Policy and Research, you will support teams across RBL to collect, analyse, and use data in ways that enable effective, efficient understanding of needs of the armed forces community, what is being delivered to meet these needs, the impact this makes, and where improvements can be made.

Some key responsibilities will include:

· Design, advise on, and conduct accurate, timely analysis of data from sources across RBL, using a range of statistical tools and techniques

· Explore, analyse, and visualise data from external sources including national surveys, studies, and databases

· Monitor the latest developments in data science and create innovative proposals for new ways to create, combine, analyse, and use data

· Draw conclusions and recommendations from data, transforming data into insights that help address complex problems and inform decision-making, and present these in a range of formats.

· Advise on design and define data requirements for future information collection systems and research, to enable deeper and practical insights for future service planning, policy influencing, and campaigns

· Work closely with Campaigns, Policy & Research colleagues to maximise use of internal and external data to inform and evidence policy positions, asks, and campaigns

· Develop relationships with research, analysis, and data stakeholders, for example in academic institutions, research agencies, charities, government departments, other public bodies, the Armed Forces community, and data science professionals across a range of sectors.

You will be contracted to your home address, and you will perform most of your work remotely there using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, with occasional travel (incl. for monthly team meetings) to our London Head Office hub.

About the role:

This role is home and office based, with travel throughout London. As a Male Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will: -

• Ensure that male survivors' safety and housing needs are met, provide specialist support for survivors at the moment of crisis.
• Provision of advocacy; supporting survivors to access safe accommodation, ensure that the service prioritises the safety, security and dignity of service users and their children

You will need:

• an understanding of domestic abuse & its impact
• knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning &risk management
• an understanding of Safeguarding issues &the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
• knowledge of Housing Law, able to provide up to date advice & information to victims
• experience of working with housing agencies or in a housing setting in the context of domestic abuse
• strong communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice
• strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful & difficult situations.
• The ability to speak a second language is desirable: specifically Arabic or Urdu; Sylheti/Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, Turkish, Kurdish, Polish, Gujarati, Somali, Yoruba, Akan, French, Lingala or Igbo is desirable.

Aside from the 50+ young people we see every day at our day centre, New Horizon’s Outreach service also works with young people on the streets and in the community. The team works pan London to deliver a unique, youth-specific outreach service to young people currently or at risk of rough sleeping. We use our extensive housing expertise to place those young people into accommodation that is appropriate and safe whilst encouraging them to access the day centre to benefit from the wide range of services we offer. The Outreach Worker will work as part of Rough Sleeping Team to deliver at least two street outreach shifts per week and transitional casework to young people facing rough sleeping. You will need to be willing to work early mornings and late evenings, to travel across London to identify young people who need our support, and to work flexibly to respond to evolving needs. About the role

This is a great opportunity to work within the Stories team at Shelter, recruiting people from within relevant services and outside the organisation to share their experiences to support Shelter’s fundraising, media, services, campaigning, research and brand work. As well as making contact with people willing to share their stories, you’ll be able to listen to someone’s experience and write a summary of their story. The traineeship lasts 15 months and you will receive personalised training and support to help remove some of the barriers that may have prevented you from getting meaningful employment. Once your traineeship is complete, we will support you in securing further employment in the future.

About you

We are looking for people who have lived experience of homelessness/bad housing and overcoming personal challenges and who are passionate about using their own life experiences to help make positive change for others. Good communication skills and the ability to make people feel heard will also be essential. Above all, we need people with a real desire to develop personally and learn new skills.

About the Role:

This role is co-located within Chelsea & Westminster Hospital 3-4 days per week and 1 day per week at our office near Old Street and/or working from home.

You may be a qualified IDVA or a Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker wanting to work alongside health professionals in a hospital environment, although we will consider applicants from other fields providing you are able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse.

As a Hospital Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocate you will:

• Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
• Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of Sexual Health London, Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust, the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic and sexual abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
• Be comfortable with running group training sessions and be willing and able to share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital.
• Have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach and the confidence to be able to influence the way in which this service is delivered are key.

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to sign an honorary contract with the Hospital Trust in addition to their contract of employment.

You will need to:

• Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic and sexual abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• Have a good understanding of domestic and sexual abuse including the impact of abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic and sexual abuse and their children.
• Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Direct service delivery to victims of domestic and sexual abuse or other vulnerable people.
• Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
• Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

We Belong is a migrant youth-led charity based in London. We Belong exists to ensure young migrants living in the UK are treated equally and fairly in the society they call home. We Belong works with and for young migrants to hold those in power to account and fight for wider immigration reform.

In this role, you'll provide high-quality support to young migrants navigating the pathways to higher education, post-education, and employment opportunities. Listening attentively to their needs, you'll ensure that they are connected with relevant opportunities tailored to their individual circumstances. 

As a Youth Development Officer, you'll regularly check in with young people affiliated with We Belong, fostering a non-judgmental environment where they feel comfortable discussing the challenges they face. Your role will be to offer compassionate care and guidance, empowering them to overcome obstacles and thrive. 

In addition to offering emotional support, you'll provide accurate information to those in need and actively engage young people in various We Belong activities, creating opportunities for growth and community involvement. You will work with schools and colleges across London to raise awareness of the barriers to education and deliver a selection of We Belong's Programmes.

Victim Support is proud to have been commissioned to provide an Affected by Crime (ABC) service across Humberside which will provide a single point of contact for victims of all crime, whether or not they have reported to the police, to receive support and information.

The ABC service will be a valuable point of contact for anyone affected by crime at any time to contact and receive help, support and information. We have opportunities available to work within the Humberside ABC service and are looking for dedicated, passionate and empathic people to join and enhance our team.

The Caseworker (known internally as a Victim Care Advocate) role will provide advocacy and support to those affected by crime across Humberside. This role is home-based with travel required within the Humberside area and is initially for a fixed term period, ending on 31^st March 2025 to cover secondment.

About the role:

As a Caseworker, you will;

• receive incoming referrals from a range of sources including the police, other agencies & individuals
• assess needs & risks & action plans with those affected by crime
• use our case management system to update case notes & record risk & needs
• give up to date information to victims of crime about the criminal justice system process
• liaise with other agencies where required to provide advocacy for the service user
• work with other criminal justice system agencies to ensure a trauma informed & victim friendly response
• promote the service, ensuring it is accessible & open to all
• work with the wider team to ensure an effective, trauma informed service

You will be a confident and empathic person who can work well under pressure. You will be speaking to people who may be upset, angry or in emotional difficulties and will need to be composed, empathic and be able to quickly assess situations. You will be confident in using your IT skills to work on a case management system, access phone and online systems, email and Microsoft Office programmes.

This assistant will keep close control of some of our key admin processes like travel booking and expenses and will be the main point person for keeping our London office and our leadership team organised.
