About the role

The Lab is now working with Demos, a leading cross-party think tank and the Lloyds Bank Foundation on a collaborative project to celebrate community-led change across the country. The project will seek: (1) to connect an array of brilliant organisations creating new forms of public services and (2) write a narrative that puts this community-led innovation at the centre of broader efforts at rethinking how the state delivers for its citizens. The project will work with leaders across civil society, academia and the highest levels of politics to demonstrate the potential for community-led change to generate national renewal.

We are seeking a motivated individual to take on the role of Project Network Coordinator. They will report to the Director of the UCL Policy Lab and work closely with the team. The post is fixed term for the duration of nine months either full or part time with the possibility to be extended.

The post holder will be expected to work both at UCL but also on ad hoc occasions from the offices of our partner organisation, Demos.

The salary for this role is between £36,433 and £39,807 per anum dependent on experience and includes the London Allowance.

About you

The UCL Policy Lab wishes to appoint a Project Network Coordinator to help draw together representatives of a vast array of community-based organisations currently innovating in public service reform. The Coordinator will support the project team to develop a core coalition to drive forward the work. The individual will work closely with both the UCL Policy Lab team, Demos and other project partners in the oversight and delivery of events that bring these organisations together so that they can share their experiences and expertise. The individual will also help oversee and coordinate the programme of high-level private workshops exploring the policy implications of these organisations' activities, providing extensive service support to attendees as well as supporting the project to build up a wide network of key stakeholders.

The individual will be crucial to designing and delivering a high-quality experience for the participants as well as ensuring that the dialogue builds overtime and its richness is fully captured and shared with senior stakeholders. The individual will also run the sessions and assist the Lab with both research and administrative support in the run up to the events.

The post holder will report directly to the Lab's Director but also work closely with the Policy Lab team.

The post holder must be able to work flexibly, independently and proactively.

Duties and responsibilities

• Work with Lab leadership to recruit members for a new network of community-led public service innovators from across the UK
• Support Lab and Demos leaders engagement with senior stakeholders in the national government and the opposition, as well as the local movement, to help share findings and drive political impact.
• Build relationships with the key individuals in this sector to understand their contributions and concerns and be able to share them with others
• Assist with the delivery of engaging collaborative workshops for members of this network and the project team.
• Conduct interviews with network members and draft policy briefs and memos for circulation to the broader network and the policy team.
• Track and report impact from the network for internal purposes, marketing and various evaluation processes (e.g., writing website content, newsletters and contributing to final reports)
• Work with the UCL Policy Lab team to help deliver operational support for the activities of the project, including: contributing to shared infrastructure and tools; working with the Communications and Engagement manager to deliver wider impact; working with the Team to co-ordinate delivering of world class policy events, including our party conference programme.
• Manage a front of house team at events including PhD students or equivalent on short term placements.
• Follow and promote UCL policies, including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), and maintain an awareness and observation of fire and health and safety regulations.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

We have recently appointed our new Chief Executive Officer who takes up post in October 2025. We now seek a strategic and operationally savvy Head of Fundraising and Marketing to support the senior team as they lead The Mix into its next chapter, with prime responsibility to generate a diverse and sustainable stream of income to enable The Mix to deliver its charitable activities in the years ahead.

Overview of the role

As the organisation’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, you will be an experienced, ambitious, enthusiastic, and dynamic professional, who is passionate about fundraising and maximising income generation.

Working closely with our new CEO and committed trustees and staff, you will develop and implement fundraising and marketing strategies that align to our vision and drive the expansion of our crucial support to young people in Suffolk.

You will have a thorough understanding of planning, organising, and delivering successful fundraising campaigns, initiatives, and events with a strong attention-to-detail. You will be comfortable working at a leadership and strategic level but also unafraid to roll up your sleeves and create bids, funding proposals, and marketing materials.

Main Responsibilities

1. Strategic leadership

· Develop and lead the multi-channel fundraising and marketing strategy to meet agreed income targets and support 

         long-term sustainability for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

· Work closely with the CEO and Trustees, to align fundraising efforts with the strategic goals of the charity and bring               insight into income generation and stakeholder engagement.

· Actively contribute to the senior leadership team, shaping organisational policies and strategic direction, ensuring the           integration of fundraising, marketing and operational activities.

2. Fundraising and income generation

· Drive the development of diverse income streams, including major donor fundraising, corporate partnerships,                         individual giving, legacies, lotteries, community fundraising and events.

· Proactively seek new opportunities to secure long-term, multi-year funding through well-targeted funding applications           and corporate proposals.

· Build strong partner relationships with a focus on stewardship, retention, and growth.

· Monitor performance, analyse data, and drive continuous improvement.

· Chair the Fundraising sub-committee and contribute to the Data, Impact and Evidence Action Group

· Responsible for completion of all bids, grants and funding applications and ensuring that funders receive appropriate             ongoing feedback.
 

3. Marketing and communications

· Develop marketing materials and campaigns that effectively communicate the charity’s mission, vision and                             achievements to various audiences for both The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd.

· Lead the management of digital platforms, ensuring consistent and inspiring content across all channels, including the           website, social media, email and printed materials.

· Ensure that brand messaging is consistent, clear and aligned across The Mix and 127 Trading Ltd to enhance public             recognition and reputation.

· Grow awareness of the charity at a local and regional level, monitoring success through market research.

· Develop compelling narratives and stories of the charity’s impact to engage partners and encourage continued                     support.

4. Team leadership and development

· Lead and develop the Fundraising & Marketing team, fostering a collaborative and positive culture.

· Mentor and support team members in achieving their professional development goals, ensuring they attain business             objectives.

· Regularly monitor and review team performance to meet income generation and communication objectives.

5. Operational excellence

· Ensure compliance with data protection laws, fundraising regulations and ethical guidelines across all fundraising and           marketing activities.

· Review and improve the use of the website and develop systems to track donor engagement, monitor income and                 ensure data integrity and transparency.

· Work closely with finance and operations teams to oversee the management and monitoring of fundraising targets.

·Work closely with the Youth Work team to provide insight to funding opportunities available and marketing and                       fundraising activities occurring.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a team player with a background in education or programme delivery,  who is well-organised and an efficient administrator, with excellent inter-personal skills. They must be intellectually curious with strong research abilities, and are confident and articulate communicators. Alignment with our ethos of seeking to address social division through constructive dialogue is essential.

This role will be responsible for managing the delivery of our cohort programmes including currently: Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and Gen Z and the City. There is scope for the development of new programme areas, including working with the arts and our public history project, as we respond to contemporary challenges.

Job Description:

· Work with the Programme team, to design and deliver educational resources, workshops and conferences including our Youth & Democracy, Rule of Law, and intergenerational change programme areas;

· Deliver Exploring Ethics and other Cumberland Lodge workshops as requested;

· Identify potential partners and collaborate with stakeholders related to programme activity;

· Produce funding proposals;

· Produce and/or editing briefing papers and reports when required;

· Produce digital content for online learning and engage regularly with the community engagement platform, including identifying topics, producing webinars and podcasts;

· Act as Duty Officer for 8 weekends (involving, if required, giving welcome talks, leading Exploring Ethics Sessions, and escorting groups to the Royal Chapel). Accommodation is provided on these weekends.

· Attend departmental, staff, and ad hoc planning meetings

Person specification

You’ll have:

Essential Criteria:

· Undergraduate degree in a relevant social science or humanities discipline;

Desirable Criteria:

· Postgraduate degree in a relevant social science or humanities discipline;

· Conducting research into programme content;

· Design and delivery of online educational material (e.g. podcasting, Arc GIS Storymaps, animations etc).

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Location: Based at Cumberland Lodge in Windsor Great Park. (Applicants should be aware that Cumberland Lodge is not easily accessible by public transport). 

Hybrid working available, with a minimum 3 days a week in the office.

The role requires flexible working.  There will be some weekend and evening duties, including programme events, facilitating workshops for visiting groups, talks and tours of the Lodge (shared on a rota basis). Accommodation will be provided on site when evening work is required.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To develop, implement and evaluate the Banter Project youth service in partnership with adopted young people in Northern Ireland.  These young people range in age from 14-25 years and live throughout Northern Ireland.  The role will primarily work with the project participants, but has additional relationships with community organisations, educational establishments and employers to ensure that all project goals and outcomes are efficiently and effectively met.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To lead the development and delivery of all elements of the Banter Project adopted young people’s service within Northern Ireland in a fun, interactive, interesting and an ability appropriate manner.

• To support the project participants to play an active role in the design and implementation of a programme of monthly activities for adopted young people. Sustaining and developing a monthly social hub, supporting the development of basic life-skills, and preparation for opportunities in further education, training, employment.

• To support a Youth Advisory Group (YAG) in its role to enable adopted young people to steer the Banter Project while developing skills which promote independence, personal development, social and life skills, leadership, and community involvement.

• To organise and supervise the work of the Youth Services Support Worker to deliver the Banter Project. 

• To provide opportunities to connect with, and signpost to, relevant services, particularly those who work with care experienced young people.

• To develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation to review individual goals, track progress and impact, via data and analysis of outcomes to assess effectiveness and areas for improvement.

• To record service activity using the electronic data management systems to collate in preparation for reporting and learning opportunities.

• To gather output and outcome data from the Banter Project service in accordance with the quality assurance systems within AUK. 

• Work with other staff members to deliver a high-quality project for our adopted young people and their adoptive parents.  Work as part of a team to contribute to a positive work environment and shared goals. 

• To attend internal and external training/meetings as appropriate, to remain connected with broader adoption issues, relevant policies, working practices, and network with other youth work providers in Northern Ireland.

St Giles and The Wise Group came together to form a partnership with the aim of supporting the Probation Resettlement reforms by offering a high-quality service underpinned by staff who have lived experience and cultural competency. As a result, we have been awarded contracts to deliver Women’s Services for North Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Durham. The service will provide holistic support to sentenced women in the community and those sentenced and un-sentenced in custodial settings.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will monitor and manage the receipt of referrals from Probation through the Customer Approved System (CAS) ensuring they are successfully assigned to Personal Wellbeing Coaches using the appropriate guidance and process, ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales, plus provide regular activity reports to the Personal Wellbeing Manager.  You will be the primary point of contact for all enquiries, external and internal to ensure communication channels are clear and effective, while also liaising with external stakeholders (e.g. Prisons), delivery partners, spot purchase providers and other agencies to arrange appointments, referrals, and generally ensure information exchanged is done in a clear, timely and effective manner.

Monitor and manage the Case management systems to ensure all inputting is accurate and within agreed timescales and provide regular activity reports to the Senior Administrator. Providing administration for meetings, including bookings, invitations and minute-taking, are also vital duties.

What we are looking for

• Experience of managing a case management system including inputting data and creating reports.
• ·Experience of working in services providing administrative support in a busy, pressurised environment.
• Experience of working in services which provide support to people who have faced adversity and disadvantage.
• Ability to develop and maintain means by which compliance with policy and procedure can be effectively monitored and reported on including financial expenditure.
• Ability to manage their workload including prioritising tasks and communicating with colleagues where delegation or allocation is required.
• Ability to create and communicate performance reports in a variety of formats.
• Ability to input data onto Customer Relationship Management Systems accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison-based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

· Has experience of overseeing the legal requirements of running an organisation, employing staff and running an effective charity.

Job Description

The role of Case Worker - Mental Health is an excellent opportunity to provide one-to-one tailored support to young people, working collaboratively as part of a multi-agency team, to ensure the safety of young people, and maximise their outcomes. Tailoring support to each young person's individual needs and circumstances, our case workers work as part of the Home Office-funded County Lines Support and Rescue Service.

*This role requires access to a car, and a full current driving licence.

About You

Great verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain relationships with key partner agencies, working effectively as part of a team.

Main Duties and Accountabilities

Providing appropriate end to end support, and interventions, to a pre-defined caseload of young people, and their families, who are involved in County Lines activity – young people are referred by means of effective assessment, care planning, and risk management.
Proactively and continually assessing and managing caseload risks, escalating where necessary through internal and external safeguarding procedures, and adapting case management frequency and methodology to reflect individual needs and circumstances.
Ensuring that the diverse needs and aspirations of all groups of service users are considered in service planning and delivery, to enable all service users to fulfil their potential.
Liaising effectively with local partner organisations, and other relevant agencies, to ensure effective referrals, care, risk management, and ease of transition and referral, for young people.

Qualifications

Good ICT skills, with experience of using data recording and data collation systems.
Experience of working with young people and their families, identified as vulnerable or having complex needs, preferably in a community setting.
Experience of inter-agency working, preferably with Children's and Family Services/Youth Justice Services/Youth Services.
Knowledge of issues around risk and vulnerability amongst young people.
Desirable: Relevant qualification in a relevant discipline e.g., youth, community, health and social care, management.
