Philanthropy and Partnerships fundraising at Alzheimer's Research UK has grown significantly over recent years. The Directorate has a track record of soliciting seven-figure donations and winning significant corporate partnerships with well-known and well-loved brands such as Omaze, Cadbury, Warburtons, Roadchef and Dobbies.

We are now looking to build upon our success by launching a new, significant fundraising appeal. This appeal will help drive further transformational growth, from income across majors donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. Ultimately, it will help us funding cutting-edge research that will bring forward the day when we can diagnose, treat and prevent dementia.

As Stewardship Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high quality and meaningful experiences for Alzheimer’s Research UK’s major donors, charitable trusts and corporate partners. The Stewardship Officer will work closely with the Donor Relations Manager and wider Directorate, assisting in the development of creative, personalised communications and materials that help build long-term, impactful relationships with supporters.

You will collaborate closely with teams across the organisation, including Events, Design, and Science Communications to deliver impactful content that is designed to inspire and engage high value donors, including philanthropic individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Stewardship development and delivery

· Develop and deliver stewardship touchpoints across the Philanthropy and Partnerships audience, ensuring a consistent yet tailored approach.

· Identify and communicate new ideas for stewardship and engagement across the Philanthropy and Partnerships team and support on implementation.

· Produce tailored written and visual resources including donor reports, video content, email updates, brochures, invitations, and thank you cards.

· Help maintain and coordinate a schedule of planned donor communications and materials, keeping abreast of current and future organisational and sector-wide news.

· Support with the development of stewardship frameworks and bespoke supporter journeys, helping to shape meaningful experiences for a high value audience.

· Work closely with the Events team to support on the creation and delivery of high value events, ensuring suitability for a high value audience.

Relationship building

· Be an active and engaged member of the Philanthropy and Partnerships team, contributing to a positive, ambitious and collaborative working culture.

· Build strong, collaborative working relationships with colleagues across the organisation.

· Work with colleagues in teams such as Communications, Brand, Events, Design, Science Communications, and Merchandise to help create engaging and inspiring supporter content.

· Develop an in-depth understanding of the external relationships held by the Philanthropy and Partnerships team (major donors, charitable trusts, and corporate partners) to help inform stewardship.

· Attend cross-team meetings, identifying where Philanthropy and Partnerships can support other organisational activity or where activity may pose an opportunity for a high value audience.

Project management and processes

· Project manage tailored donor touchpoints from concept to delivery, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as required to harness expertise across the organisation.

· Coordinate the production process for materials by liaising with internal teams and suppliers, ensuring timelines are met and brand guidelines are followed.

· Develop an excellent working understanding of, and follow, the required processes used by support teams for the submission and management of pieces of work.

· Keep team records up to date and accurate, including entering information into the organisation’s CRM (customer relationship management) system.

· Support the Donor Relations Manager in streamlining processes to benefit colleagues across the Directorate.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Animal Welfare Investigations Project (AWIP) is a specialist not-for-profit organisation dedicated to ending cruelty through intelligence-led investigations, criminal prosecutions, and systemic change.

We are investing heavily in building a world-class legacy fundraising program. We're seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Legacy Officer to help steward our most visionary supporters — securing transformational gifts that will protect animals for generations to come.

About the Role

As our Legacy Officer, you will be at the heart of one of the most important projects in AWIP’s future.

You will:

• Build warm, trusting relationships with legacy pledgers and prospects.

• Respond to supporter enquiries about Gifts in Wills.

• Steward confirmed pledgers through personalised updates, thank you letters, and occasional calls or events.

• Maintain accurate CRM records for legacy prospects and pledgers.

• Create simple, heartfelt communications to inspire and retain pledgers.

• Host occasional small-scale legacy events (virtual or in-person).

• Report on progress to the Executive Director.

This is a 12-month temporary contract with a strong possibility of extension or becoming permanent based on program growth and conversion performance.

Role Details

The Philanthropy team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing donations from individual major donors, grant-making trusts and foundations. The role of Philanthropy Officer is key to the success of the Philanthropy team, working closely with other team members and stakeholders across ARUK.

At the heart of the Philanthropy team is our desire to help our supporters change the world, in a way that is meaningful and exciting to them.

We work with a growing portfolio of individual donors and charitable trusts, getting to know them - through meetings, events, lab tours, reporting on the impact of their donations and regular touchpoints - so that we can match their philanthropic goals to our research initiatives. By nurturing these relationships, we gain long-term meaningful support from donors and their networks, and as a result can secure significant donations which range all the way up to eight figures.

We are looking for an articulate, proactive and people-orientated individual to join our highly successful team. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship management skills, a high degree of emotional intelligence, and will be an ambitious self-starter.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Relationship building and income generation

· Build relationships with a portfolio of current and prospective major donors and charitable trusts, gauging their level of interest in our work, providing them with opportunities to engage with ARUK, and encouraging them to invest in our research.

· Develop an engagement plan for each relationship, taking full ownership and moving each donor / trust forward through qualification, solicitation and stewardship.

· Fundraise for different aspects of ARUK’s work, including key research initiatives such as the Drug Discovery Alliance.

· Think ambitiously and creatively in producing compelling and persuasive written communications for donors, including letters, proposals, applications and progress reports.

· Solicit donors for gifts at face-to-face meetings, where appropriate.

· Provide an exceptional level of stewardship to donors, ensuring they are thanked and updated and that their relationship with ARUK grows in depth and value.

· Think innovatively and support the team’s goal to embed the use of digital in our work.

· Work with senior volunteers and senior staff, where appropriate, empowering them to open their networks and ask for support.

· Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues in the Science Communications, Media and Engagement, Research and Finance teams.

CRM

· Ensure donor records are kept up-to-date through daily use of Salesforce.

· Use Salesforce to track income and activity, and as a planning tool.

Events

· Support the Donor Relations Manager in planning bespoke events / lab tours for our supporters, by providing guest lists, communicating with invitees and updating Salesforce records.

· Represent ARUK at Philanthropy team events, and at other ARUK events where major donors or the representatives of charitable trusts may be attending.

What we are looking for:

· Experience gained working in a major gift fundraising or client relationship management role

· Demonstrable experience of developing long-term / strategic relationships

· Demonstrable experience of developing / influencing relationships through face-to-face conversations

Job details

Hours: 37.5 per week.

Work pattern: Usually Monday to Friday working during office hours with occasional weekends and out of hours work, however we do operate very flexibly.

Salary: Between £60,000-£70,000 per annum depending on experience (full-time)

Responsible for: Head of Finance, Head of Estates and Sustainability, Head of Digital Infrastructure

Holiday: 28 days per annum plus bank holidays (full-time). Option to buy/sell some leave and gain additional days for continuous service after four years. The post-holder will not usually be expected to work bank holidays however when duties require, time off in lieu will be available.

• Finance Leadership: Be the architect of and execute a strategic vision for the charity's financial growth and long-term sustainability, ensuring resilience in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Executive leadership and strategic contribution

• Report directly to the CEO, providing regular updates on financial performance, risk management, and operational efficiency. Additionally, the CFRO will present detailed financial reports, risk assessments, and progress on strategic goals to the Board of Trustees, ensuring transparency and alignment with the charity's long-term objectives.
• As a key member of the Executive Team, actively contribute to the development and refinement of the charity’s overall strategy, aligning financial and risk management goals with broader charity objectives.
• Play a leading role in setting and delivering the goals and targets defined in the charity’s business plan, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency.

Financial strategy and governance

• Develop, implement, and continually refine the charity’s financial strategy, policies, and practices in alignment with best practices and the organisation’s overall strategic goals.
• Provide financial leadership and oversight, ensuring the charity’s financial health by managing the planning, budgeting, reporting, and monitoring processes.
• Manage and oversee the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements, budgets, and forecasts that support decision-making by the Executive Team and Board.

Risk management and mitigation

• Lead the development and implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management framework that identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks across all operations.
• Oversee regular risk assessments and report on risk management performance, ensuring that all areas of the organisation are proactively managing risks.
• Foster a culture of risk awareness across the charity, ensuring that risk management is embedded in all key decision-making processes.

Operational efficiency and support services

• Lead and drive the efficient delivery of essential charity support functions, including IT, facilities management, health and safety, and safeguarding, ensuring that they are effectively resourced and aligned with the charity’s strategic needs.
• Ensure these functions operate in a seamless and ‘invisible’ manner, enhancing the operational efficiency of the charity while supporting its mission delivery.

Compliance and regulatory oversight

• Ensure full compliance with charity governance, statutory reporting, and all relevant legal obligations, including charity law, tax regulations,, financial reporting standards and data protection. The postholder will also act as our Data Protection Officer.
• Ensure that the charity adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations, creating and maintaining a safe working environment for staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Leadership and team development

• Lead, manage, and inspire the Charity Support Services team, ensuring a high level of collaboration and providing the resources needed for effective performance.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the professional development of staff and encouraging innovative problem-solving.

Stakeholder management and reporting

• Engage with the Board of Trustees and external stakeholders on matters relating to financial performance and risk management.
• Provide regular reports to the Board, senior leadership, and key stakeholders on financial status, risk assessments, and performance against strategic goals.

Person Specification:

Education:

• Essential: A recognised accountancy qualification (preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Desirable: Management/leadership qualification or significant professional experience at a senior level in the charity sector.

Experience and knowledge:

Essential:

o A minimum of three years' experience in a senior management or leadership role.

o Proven track record of managing finance for a medium to large charity.

o Experience as a member of a Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational leadership.

o Expertise in financial management, including producing management accounts and monitoring cash flow for organisations with an annual turnover exceeding £2 million.

o Experience in business planning and long-term financial forecasting to support strategic goals.

o Strong experience in team management, including motivating staff and overseeing performance to drive high levels of engagement.

o Demonstrable experience of managing budgets, safeguarding processes, and risk management.

o Experience in the production and implementation of policies for example those related to finance, risk, health and safety, safeguarding and data protection within a charitable context.

Overview

Exclusion from education happens when a child is suspended from school (temporarily or permanently) but it also happens when they are sent out of the class, put into an isolation room, or even wander around corridors doing all they can to avoid going to their lessons! With 32 million ‘learning days’ lost in 22/23 (up from 19 million, pre covid) this is serious societal problem with devastating lifelong consequences for young people – especially those from poorer backgrounds. SOHK is on a mission to help children experiencing exclusion, change their life trajectory.

With teams in England, Scotland and Wales, working with hundreds of ‘at risk’ students, we are looking to appoint a Regional Manager in South East Wales who will be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of our programme in Wales. The successful candidate will ensure the alignment of delivery with our organisational goals and standards, line manage and support team members and maintain strong relationships with schools and other stakeholders. The Health Collective is one of our central campaigns. It has emerged out of the urgent need to close the health gap for women from marginalised communities and is made up of and led by grassroots organisations, representing women’s voices from every marginalised community in our society.

The Health Collective Community Manager will be responsible for managing the development, expansion, and sustainability of the Health Collective.

Your role 

You will be responsible for the management, development and delivery of marketing and communications to support CWNN’s fundraising strategy. You’ll work alongside our Development Manager to create compelling fundraising campaigns, content and communications, growing engagement from individuals, companies, community fundraisers and potential funders while simultaneously raising our profile among stakeholders through strategic communications and marketing plans. This work includes:   

• Support our Development Manager to create and deliver impactful and innovative fundraising strategies including our public appeals, challenge events and local fundraising campaigns.

Transport & Environment (T&E), Europe’s leading clean transport think tank and advocacy group, is seeking a Sustainable Shipping Manager to spearhead efforts in decarbonising the UK’s maritime sector.
 
In this pivotal role, you will lead advocacy efforts to advance UK shipping regulations, championing truly sustainable solutions such as green hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels while challenging ineffective alternatives. Your work will involve designing and executing targeted advocacy strategies, engaging with UK policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, and the media to shape policy and drive legislative change. You will also conduct high-impact research, analyse technical and economic data on vessel decarbonisation, and collaborate with environmental organisations to maximise impact.
 
You will be a key voice in the shipping decarbonisation space, representing T&E at public forums, responding to media requests, and forming coalitions with industry players to push for ambitious policy measures that align with the UK’s climate goals.
 
The ideal candidate will have at least six years of experience in UK climate, energy, or transport policy advocacy, with a strong track record of influencing regulatory stakeholders and driving policy change. A deep understanding of the UK political system, excellent political analysis skills, and the ability to navigate a fast-changing policy environment are essential. Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are also crucial to success. Experience in maritime policy, parliamentary work, or international collaboration would be advantageous.

Battersea's Global Programmes Department are looking for a passionate individual to join the team as Grants and Programmes Associate.

The Grants and Programmes Associate will support the delivery of a portfolio of work within the Grants and Programmes function at Battersea, focusing on the UK portfolio. The Associate will work closely with and report to a Grants & Programmes Manager who leads the portfolio. This is an exciting time for Battersea as we expand our work to impact more dogs and cats.

Over the coming five years, it is planned that the size and complexity of grant making will grow, including the establishment of several multi-year programmes in the UK and abroad.

This is a grants management role within the Grants and Programmes team in the Global Programmes Directorate, requiring excellent experience of relationship, grant and project management. The successful postholder should be comfortable working as a team, with considerable scope, and complexity and nurturing relationships with colleagues across the organisation as an integral element of the role. The Associate would support a portfolio led by a Manager who would also be their line manager.
