CAMPAIGNS ASSISTANT - Full-time permanent position (open to part-time applicants)

Salary: Circa £23,000 full time dependent on experience. Full time is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Location: Cheltenham, with some home working (full time with x3 days working in central Cheltenham charity office)

Job Description

Are you passionate about animals and looking for a job in campaigning, public policy change, public affairs and stakeholder relations? As Campaigns Assistant, you’ll support the delivery of impactful campaigns led by our Campaign Managers and support high-profile projects like World Animal Day and various events.

To be considered, we’ll be looking for motivated, resilient candidates with relevant experience or skills developed in an animal welfare (or related) degree or more general public policy and campaigning. The successful candidate would need to be organised, with a sharp eye for detail, able to deliver projects on time, whilst working as part of a team. You’ll need a strong ability to multi-task and prioritise, as no day is ever the same.

This is a full time or part time permanent role offering a salary around £23,000, depending on skills and experience.

Essential Skills

Working arrangements

Flexibility 

In order to deliver the stated aims of this post, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. This could include data, administrative and/or project support to other cross-organisational departments. Such duties will fall within the scope of the job within the appropriate pay grade. High Trees Community Development Trust is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Children, Young People & Families (CYPF) to join our senior management team and lead one of our core service areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee a wide-ranging CYPF service that directly supports over 400 children and young people each year, and many more through partnerships. You will lead the newly redeveloped Tulse Hill Adventure Playground, ensuring it thrives as a hub for children, young people and families, alongside a portfolio of impactful programmes including school-based mentoring, young leaders’ programmes, family stay-and-play, and peer-led social action.

Supported by our Adventure Playground Manager and a team of youth and play workers, this is an incredibly exciting time for the service – the newly built structures, alongside a small animal area and a growing area, are ready to build an ambitious service around that meets the needs and interests of local children and families.

High Trees is also the lead partner in Building Young Brixton (BYB) – a consortium of 10 youth organisations working with 2,000 young people across Lambeth – which you will coordinate, alongside contributing to the Lambeth Peer Action Collective.

Our Head of CYPF plays a key leadership role that combines strategic oversight with hands-on involvement. You will bring significant experience in youth or community work, with the skills to manage multifaceted services, lead teams, and build strong partnerships with local organisations, schools and statutory bodies. By working closely with our team and partners, you will help ensure that children and young people in Lambeth have the opportunities and support they need to thrive.

As Head of Children, Young People and Families, you will:

• Lead and inspire our Children, Young People and Families team to deliver high-impact, community-led work.
• Oversee a portfolio of projects and contracts, ensuring they are delivered to time, budget, and quality.
• Build and strengthen partnerships across the sector to support children, young people and families in Lambeth.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for CYPF services and partnerships.
• Contribute as a member of High Trees’ senior management team, helping shape organisational strategy and drive our ambitions across all service areas.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual, who has experience in line managing a globally dispersed team as well managing various partnerships globally. The role sits within the Heart for the Gospel Programme, which is part of the Department for World Mission. You will report to the Head of Programme and contribute to the work of the BMS World Mission.

Working with BMS World Mission provides the opportunity to help people experience faith in Christ and the abundant life He only offers. This role provides you with the opportunity to be involved in supporting mission workers and partners to preach the gospel, make disciples, plant Churches, supporting workers sent to some of the least evangelised places. Whether working on partnership agreement, budgets and grants or supporting the training of evangelists you will be playing a vital role in extending the kingdom of God, fulfilling the great commission and help BMS stay on the cutting edge of global mission. You will find fulfilment as your work contributes to people coming to faith in Christ and bringing transformation to communities.

The Lead role falls into four main areas as follows:
• Support the development and implementation of BMS strategy in the ministry area
• Lead, support and guide BMS mission personnel through effective line management
• Build relationships with BMS partners – striving towards fruitful mission impact
• Bring evangelism, church planting and disciple making movement ministry expertise into the wider work of BMS

You’ll work directly with young Londoners, schools, and employers to make opportunities happen; from coordinating logistics and work placements to facilitating engaging career-readiness sessions that connect young people with their futures.

Day to day, you’ll support employer and school engagement, ensure smooth project delivery, and identify opportunities to improve how we work. You’ll contribute to team planning and collaboration by sharing insights from delivery, gathering feedback, and helping showcase the real impact of our programmes.

Working closely with the Delivery Manager, you’ll have the independence to manage your own workload while drawing on the support and expertise of a collaborative team. You’ll also help nurture long-term partnerships with businesses and schools, supporting our shared goal of helping 250,000 young Londoners access positive opportunities, healthy food, and meaningful career connections.
