We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the London Locality Impact team to support our work with colleagues across the locality, stroke communities and health care system, and in supporting people affected by stroke to provide the voice of lived experience.

The Role

Reporting to the Engagement Lead, the Engagement Officer will work with colleagues across the locality to deliver against planned activity and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. Engaging with service providers, clinical partners, community groups for stroke survivors and carers in the locality. including managing relationships with voluntary led support groups, developing the London groups network.

Job Description: Training and Events Officer

The Training and Events Officer will play a key role developing and delivering high quality professional development, training, events, workshops to SLA members and wider audiences. The postholder will develop inspirational, insightful and innovative routes to supporting SLA members to deliver on their school library provision remit, enabling children and young people to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about school libraries, education and training.

You will work with the CEO, SLA colleagues and key stakeholders to develop and deliver a comprehensive training offer, including leading on logistics planning and delivery of our flagship annual conference. In addition, you will develop and maintain a calendar of exciting events and opportunities to share knowledge and insight, working with colleagues to ensure the offer is timely and informative. A confident facilitator and coordinator, you will be comfortable leading on training delivery, or recruiting and working with external facilitators in order to achieve specific outcomes.  Creative, with a flair for spotting opportunities for professional development, you will have a keen eye for detail and an ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines. Resource creation will be second-nature to you and you’ll be comfortable writing for adults and children, and young people.

Duties include:

• Logistics planning and delivery of the flagship event, SLA Annual Conference (currently called the Weekend Course) providing high quality professional development and networking opportunities to members 
• With CEO and key stakeholders, supporting the development of a comprehensive, engaging and exciting conference programme and recruit 40 exhibitors, plus event speakers as needed
• Supporting development of the training strategy working with the CEO to define aims and objectives
• Developing and maintaining a calendar of training, workshops and events aligned with the training strategy, working with the CEO and SLA colleagues, in particular the Outreach Support Officer
• Creation of supporting resources, toolkits and lesson plans to increase training engagement and impact

• Delivering and facilitating inspirational and engaging training and events as required (online and in person)

• Developing relationships with partners to produce high quality webinars, training and online events – including SLA members, funders, external stakeholders

To be successful in this role you should ideally demonstrate:

· experience creating training resources, toolkits and teaching and learning resources

We have two permanent Funding Officer positions in the Yorkshire and the Humber regional team.

Join us as a Funding Officer and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference to communities across the region. Working as part of the Yorkshire and the Humber team as part of a team of 20 colleagues you will combine hybrid working - either from home, our Leeds office adjacent to Leeds station, or project visits, to understand how and where amazing people and organisations are transforming neighbourhoods.

If you have previous experience for a funder, then that is great but it’s not a necessity.

• You will need to be confident with comprehension and writing because you will be working with those applying for grants to advise and support them as necessary to develop proposals including project budgets.
• You’ll work with your colleagues to assess and recommend projects for funding. Some days you’ll be attending funders fairs, in person or online, whilst on others you may be meeting with Councils or other funders to share information about need and funding in a particular neighbourhood.
• You’ll also have responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of projects to ensure they are on track. If you have experience of the voluntary sector that would be ideal, particularly in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The Hardman Trust is the only charity in England, Wales and Scotland focusing on the unique needs of people on long term sentences.
People facing decades of prison time often completely lose connection with their family and friends on the outside. Depending on the prison, there may be limited access to rehabilitative programmes and educational courses until later in the sentence. It can be hard to maintain hope, and direction, or create meaningful plans for the future.
People leaving prison after 10 years will have different needs to those leaving after 10 months. The world has changed – there are different habits and new social norms. Prices have gone up, technology has evolved, neighbourhoods look different, and the workplace has changed. It takes time to adjust.

Philanthropy and Partnerships fundraising at Alzheimer's Research UK has grown significantly over recent years. The Directorate has a track record of soliciting seven-figure donations and winning significant corporate partnerships with well-known and well-loved brands such as Omaze, Cadbury, Warburtons, Roadchef and Dobbies.

We are now looking to build upon our success by launching a new, significant fundraising appeal. This appeal will help drive further transformational growth, from income across majors donors, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners. Ultimately, it will help us funding cutting-edge research that will bring forward the day when we can diagnose, treat and prevent dementia.

As Stewardship Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high quality and meaningful experiences for Alzheimer’s Research UK’s major donors, charitable trusts and corporate partners. The Stewardship Officer will work closely with the Donor Relations Manager and wider Directorate, assisting in the development of creative, personalised communications and materials that help build long-term, impactful relationships with supporters.

You will collaborate closely with teams across the organisation, including Events, Design, and Science Communications to deliver impactful content that is designed to inspire and engage high value donors, including philanthropic individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporate partners.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Stewardship development and delivery

· Develop and deliver stewardship touchpoints across the Philanthropy and Partnerships audience, ensuring a consistent yet tailored approach.

· Identify and communicate new ideas for stewardship and engagement across the Philanthropy and Partnerships team and support on implementation.

· Produce tailored written and visual resources including donor reports, video content, email updates, brochures, invitations, and thank you cards.

· Help maintain and coordinate a schedule of planned donor communications and materials, keeping abreast of current and future organisational and sector-wide news.

· Support with the development of stewardship frameworks and bespoke supporter journeys, helping to shape meaningful experiences for a high value audience.

· Work closely with the Events team to support on the creation and delivery of high value events, ensuring suitability for a high value audience.

Relationship building

· Be an active and engaged member of the Philanthropy and Partnerships team, contributing to a positive, ambitious and collaborative working culture.

· Build strong, collaborative working relationships with colleagues across the organisation.

· Work with colleagues in teams such as Communications, Brand, Events, Design, Science Communications, and Merchandise to help create engaging and inspiring supporter content.

· Develop an in-depth understanding of the external relationships held by the Philanthropy and Partnerships team (major donors, charitable trusts, and corporate partners) to help inform stewardship.

· Attend cross-team meetings, identifying where Philanthropy and Partnerships can support other organisational activity or where activity may pose an opportunity for a high value audience.

Project management and processes

· Project manage tailored donor touchpoints from concept to delivery, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as required to harness expertise across the organisation.

· Coordinate the production process for materials by liaising with internal teams and suppliers, ensuring timelines are met and brand guidelines are followed.

· Develop an excellent working understanding of, and follow, the required processes used by support teams for the submission and management of pieces of work.

· Keep team records up to date and accurate, including entering information into the organisation’s CRM (customer relationship management) system.

· Support the Donor Relations Manager in streamlining processes to benefit colleagues across the Directorate.

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Salary: Circa £32,000 per annum, plus benefits

Fundraising experience with trusts and foundations and/or ACE including the successful delivery of large (>£500k multi-year) applications

Experience of working with trustees to make use of their expertise and contacts

Track record of meeting fundraising targets in the charitable sector and an understanding of the relevant legislative and ethics frameworks within which we work

About the Degrees Initiative  

The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions.  

Degrees’ programmatic work is centred on capacity-building through research grants and North–South and South-South collaboration schemes, outreach activities, and cross-cutting community-building. As part of this, Degrees runs workshops in the Global South that bring new voices into the SRM conversation, and our research funds support scientists and other experts in developing countries as they research what SRM could mean for their regions and become part of a global research community.

The Programmes Officer role offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to help scale up the organisation’s work, building on the successes of the last decade, and to help the most climate-vulnerable countries make their own minds up about SRM.  

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to play a vital role at Cure Parkinson’s, as our Research Grants Officer. This role will be responsible for supporting research scientists who are applying for grants or are carrying out funded research for us. This work is critical for us to achieve the charity’s main objective of funding Parkinson’s research to slow, stop and reverse Parkinson’s.

As our Research Grants Officer you will be comfortable building relationships and providing support for researchers. You will be an effective member of our pioneering Research Team, ultimately helping us to drive scientific discovery forward and bring us closer to a cure.
