38% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.
Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children.
This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.
You will conduct initial baseline assessments and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

This is a part-time role, based across two primary schools in North London. One school is Millbrook Park CE Primary School, NW7 1JF and the other is The Devonshire Hill Nursery and Primary School, N17 8LB. Our preference is for a candidate who will work across both schools, travelling between them in the middle of the day. However, if you are only interested in working 10 hours per week in one school then please state this in your application.

About the role
Reporting into the Partnerships and Business Development Lead, the Corporate Partnerships Manager plays a key role within the Partnerships & Impact Funding team.
The Corporate Partnerships Manager will provide strategic leadership to develop and deliver an ambitions strategy for Christian Aid's corporate partners, with a focus on driving income and impact outcomes through private sector partnerships.

The Digital Campaigns Officer is part of the Campaign Activism team, which works to make sure that our campaigns work effectively with our activist network, our international network, and makes best use of our supporter base for campaigning. We’re looking for someone who has some understanding of online campaigning, can pick up digital tools quickly, and who is comfortable writing high-quality copy sometimes to tight deadlines. We have an exciting opportunity for an Accommodation Advocate working within our Bolton safehouses supporting male survivors of modern day slavery. This role includes providing service users with emotional and practical support; advocating on their behalf, communicating with other organisations including but not limited to health professionals, legal representation and the Home office. Please note there is an occupational requirement for the applicant to be male.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Case working service users identified as PVOHT (Potential Victims of Human Trafficking).
- Regular feedback and review meetings with Accommodation Coordinator.
- Arranging and attending appointments with Service users including families.
- Following up all the paperwork and details of VOHT in adherence to the terms of the contract; including online reporting. Including but not limited to; weekly reviews, risk assessments, support plans and inductions.
- Duties in relation to the accommodation, including cleaning and preparing service user bedrooms for new arrivals and basic H&S checks.
- Ensuring that volunteers who work with you on shift have the proper level of support and adhere to policies and procedures.

About the role
This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT people who have experienced sexual abuse or violence. Your work will enable LGBT people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of sexual abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.
You will be joining our advocacy and support team, supporting LGBT survivors across London. You will work directly with LGBT victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related to experiences of sexual abuse or violence, including issues such as attending a sexual assault referral centre (SARC), support with the criminal and civil justice process, providing support at court during trial, safety, and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.
You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. Key responsibilities include:
- Gathering and analysing environmental data to inform action and solve catchment challenges.
- Monitoring water quality, riverfly populations, and physical habitats.
- Organising citizen science and hands-on conservation activities with local communities.
- Inspiring awareness, stewardship, and practical enhancement of local watercourses.

About the role
This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT people who have experienced sexual abuse or violence. Your work will enable TNBI people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of sexual abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.
You will be joining our advocacy and support team, supporting TNBI survivors across the UK. You will work directly with TNBI victims/survivors, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related to experiences of sexual abuse or violence, including issues such as attending a sexual assault referral centre (SARC), support with the criminal and civil justice process, providing support at court during trial, safety, and access to other services to enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.
You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of TNBI survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. You will also work closely with key partner organisations by attending meetings and have the opportunity to take part in external work to ensure a joined-up approach among services working with LGBT people facing abuse and violence.
