We have an exciting opportunity to support a super friendly, motivated and supportive Finance and Database Team.
The role is conveniently located near Liverpool Street and hybrid working is available.
You will report to the Director of Finance, line manage one Senior Database Officer and be responsible for managing The Sick Children’s Trust’s database, Donorflex, ensuring accuracy and integrity of data is maintained to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that fundraising income is processed correctly and coded in line with organisational procedures, and that service user data is updated on an accurate and timely basis, ensuring GDPR-compliant records. You will be the first point of contact, alongside the Senior Database Officer, for day-to-day database queries, providing essential support to ensure the database is effectively managed and continues to meet the organisation’s operational requirements.
Duties will include:
- Overseeing the processing of all income transactions into the database on a timely basis
- Line manage, coach and support one Senior Database Officer
- Processing service user information into the database on a timely basis
- Responsible for all Gift Aid management
- Producing scheduled and ad-hoc data selections for mailings as requested
- Analyse and produce reports using database data to support other areas of the Charity in their strategic decision-making
- Responding to queries from staff in all areas of the Charity on database use, income coding and service user data
- Leading on developing and streamlining the database processes and use of the database across the whole Charity, managing integrations between the Database and Finance system
About you
You have experience of managing a CRM database and working in a finance and database team, ensuring you can hit the ground running. Your skills and knowledge ensure you are confident in carrying out day-to-day and monthly database processes and enable you to provide managers advice of these processes.
You have experience of line managing and mentoring, supporting your direct report’s continued development and success.
You have proficient IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, and good working knowledge of database software are a given.
You have strong organisational skills, an eye for detail to ensure accuracy and strong numerical skills.
Just as importantly, you have strong interpersonal skills to support colleagues and to work as a good team member.

About the role
The FDIO will take the lead in developing the reports, dashboards and insight that directly support fundraising growth. You’ll also work hand-in-hand with our Database Manager to improve data quality, support data imports and ensure we are capturing information effectively across the organisation. An important part of the role will be helping non-technical colleagues understand and interpret data so they can make confident, insight-driven decisions.
About you
We’re looking for someone who has hands-on experience with CRM systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge or similar), strong reporting and visualisation skills, and the ability to work confidently with data importing and management processes. You’ll be analytical, curious, and a natural problem-solver with strong Excel skills and the ability to present data clearly to different audiences.
Experience of predictive analytics or advanced segmentation would be an advantage, but most importantly you’ll be someone who enjoys improving systems and has a proactive approach to data.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity for a database specialist looking for an organisation with purpose, where your work makes a difference to vulnerable children every day. This is a brand-new role in our organisation which is putting data at the heart of its new strategy.
About you
As a person who is passionate about the power of data, you will have the opportunity to shape the way that the organisation captures and analyses fundraising income and other data to maximise income which will in turn enable us to support more children.
You will have a track record of managing a fundraising database in a charitable organisation and proven data analysis skills. This role will provide an essential link between the finance and fundraising & marketing teams and will suit someone who thrives on working collaboratively to achieve the goals of the organisation.

What we do
IA offers peer-to-peer support to those with, or about to have, either an ileostomy or an internal pouch. We also help fund research into bowel disease and other conditions leading to the removal of the colon, as well as providing relevant information to interested parties using a range of channels.
Our strapline, “Because we know, we care”, sums up our whole ethos. Individuals can join either their local IA member organisation, or the IA national charity, and in either case, gain access to a range of services and support, including our flagship quarterly Journal, local and national meetings and information events, and other services such as our One2One peer support and Support Through Therapy services.

What we offer
