Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of community fundraising marketing activity, meeting recruitment and income targets
• Create and implement operational plans for the team including marketing and content
• Manage marketing campaigns through a mix of media from concept to delivery
• Work with digital and product teams to ensure marketing content is delivered efficiently and clearly
• Develop and manage supporter journeys across different media to ensure a consistent and engaging experience
• Keep community fundraising web pages up to date and user-friendly
• Promote and attend a variety of exciting fundraising events - including evenings and weekends
• Manage third-party relationships, including event suppliers, to support fundraising acquisition and recruitment activity
• Support budget planning and monitoring by reporting on performance and outcomes
• Maintain database records ensuring all relevant information about donors is promptly and accurately recorded

The Individual Giving team is responsible for income generation from individual supporters and members, using a range of direct marketing techniques via both online and offline channels. Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT) is a marine conservation charity based on the Isle of Mull. This role is responsible for the development and delivery of HWDT’s new education project, Hebridean Marine Explorers - Connecting Scotland’s seas and communities.

The Education Officer will develop and deliver:

• a 12-week co-design project with schools resulting in a community exhibition

• a programme of digital school workshops

• boat-based floating classroom education workshops

• marine mammal research expeditions for young people

• community open boat events.

Educating young people on land and at sea is key to the role so we are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, organised self-motivator, familiar working with schools and young people, with outstanding communication skills. Experience of marine mammal surveys and the ability to identify cetacean species in the Scottish waters is also essential to the role.

We are looking for somebody experienced in teaching and delivering environmental education activities and training for young people, ideally with knowledge of co-design project delivery and its implementation within a primary school environment.

Our ideal candidate will have experience coordinating a funded project and the skills to provide effective communication, evaluation, and reporting against project targets.

The ability to work with external partners, the wider team of HWDT staff and boat crew to deliver project outcomes and a genuine interest in cetaceans and marine conservation is essential. An understanding of the workings of a charity/NGO would be an advantage.

 Job purpose 

You will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of the organisation. Working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure all financial systems are implemented effectively while ensuring data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.  Accounts Payable

• Manage the day-to-day accounts payable activity to support the organisation's short-term obligations owed to its creditors or suppliers, including but not limited to: 
• Utilise cloud-based software to manage supplier invoice activity.
• Dealing with external creditor and supplier queries. 
• Assisting the Finance Manager with supplier contract renewals.
• Manage and reconcile expense activity across all business cards utilising cloud-based software where appropriate. 
• Resolve accounting discrepancies.

Account Receivable

• Manage the day-to-day accounts receivable activity between the organisation and its clients, customers, and donors, including but not limited to: 
• Process all incoming post and utilise the CRM database to record any fundraising income.
• Ensure cheques are deposited weekly in accordance with finance policy and procedures.
• Ensure accurate billing for goods or services, not including those related to healthcare.
• Reconcile incoming payments against all invoices.

• Collate salary transactional data from payroll reports, update payroll apportionment sheet and prepare journal for entry into accounting software.

 Participate in Finance Audits

• Maintain records at a level which meets the needs of external auditors. Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of document evidence and be on hand to assist during the field week section of the external audit.

About the role

We are delighted to have received three-year funding from the Aviva Foundation to fund this brand-new Grants Officer role based in London.

You’ll be part of our Programmes team supporting kinship carers in London to access grants which will help reduce financial stress. This could be grants to buy things like white goods and uniforms or accessing Buttle grants to support children growing up in kinship care.

As Grants Officer you’ll talk to kinship carers, discuss their needs, their priorities and then write charitable grant applications on their and their family’s behalf. 

You will oversee and deliver the grants process, including co-ordinating the purchase of items (such as children’s clothes, beds or washing machines), collecting receipts for items as required by the funders and liaising with all teams to ensure timely receipt of funds within the charity and to the kinship carers.

Building relationships with funders is core, sharing the impact of the grants and insight about the lives of kinship families in London. You’ll work closely with Programmes, Peer Support, Training and Advice colleagues who work with kinship families in London.

You will also create and run online and face-to-face workshops and clinics, helping kinship carers to understand how to apply for other grants, thereby encouraging resilience and confidence to apply for grants themselves.

You will be a proactive and persuasive relationship builder, able to create partnerships with a range of organisations and peer support groups that support kinship families.

You’ll build trusting and respectful relationships with kinship carers who you will work one-to-one with in community settings. And you’ll build relationships with a range of grant giving organisations across London.

We’re looking for someone who can really deliver impact and demonstrate how embedding this role into the community helps to unlock funding and support for kinship carers at a local level.

• Running face-to-face grant clinics within peer support groups or community venues in London, working directly with kinship carers to write and submit requests for grants.

Essential criteria includes:

• Experience of speaking to vulnerable people on the telephone, face-to-face and online, and gathering information with empathy and understanding.
• Experience of working with socially excluded or marginalised people and their families in face-to-face and community settings.
• Experience of running online and face-to-face workshops. 
• An understanding of budgeting, managing money, income and expenditure.
• Proven understanding of the importance of confidentiality and a non-judgmental approach.
• Evidence of awareness of safeguarding issues and good practice. 
• Experience of organising and prioritising a busy workload without close supervision.
• Proven clear understanding of the need to keep grants records and communication with kinship carers and funders up to date.
• Excellent research and writing skills.

Support a broad range of fundraising efforts across high value, individuals and special events.

As Challenge Events Officer, you will be responsible for recruiting and supporting participants in a variety of fundraising events – from marathons to skydives – to raise vital funds for disabled children and young people. You’ll manage multiple events, deliver excellent supporter care, and build lasting relationships to encourage long-term engagement with Challengers. 

Using your skills in marketing, social media, and event planning, you'll drive participation and help meet ambitious income targets. Working closely with the Community & Events Manager, you will support both third-party and bespoke events, contribute to strategy development, and ensure every experience aligns with Challengers’ values. Evening and weekend work may be required as part of this dynamic, rewarding role

• Lead the planning, promotion, and delivery of fundraising challenge events, including third-party, virtual, and flagship activities.

To be successful, you must have experience:

• Proven experience in organising or supporting fundraising or challenge events.
• A track record of achieving income targets and maximising fundraising potential.
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in engaging supporters and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of digital marketing tools and a passion for contributing to digital content and campaigns.
• Experience with CRM systems (ideally Donorfy) and using data to inform decision-making.
• A proactive and flexible approach
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
