About the role
We’re looking for a warm, proactive organiser to help more women seeking sanctuary access our Touching Safe Ground programme — weekly trauma-informed yoga and English for wellbeing sessions in East London. You’ll reach out to asylum hostels, GP surgeries and community and legal services to connect with women who may benefit. You’ll support them in attending, help sessions run smoothly, and manage practicalities like childcare, refreshments and expenses. A key part of the role is also building a brilliant volunteer team — recruiting, supporting and coordinating volunteers who make our sessions possible. You’ll also work closely with the Project Lead and colleagues on outreach, monitoring and partnership-building. This hands-on, local role is perfect if you’re organised, people-focused, and committed to empowering women who have faced hardship or trauma. It’s also a great opportunity to build skills in partnership working, trauma-informed community outreach, and volunteer leadership
Key details
- Contract: 1-year fixed-term (with potential to extend up to 4 years) 3-month probationary period. Post funded by National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund

- Reach and engage asylum-seeking, refugee and migrant women across Tower Hamlets

- Manage relationships with our crèche provider and ensure children’s provision is in place
- Recruit, coordinate and support volunteers (including DBS checks, expenses, and organising annual wellbeing treats)
- Collect impact data sensitively, including quotes, photos and case studies (with informed consent)

- Support with some admin, monitoring and evaluation tasks, and lead on others

OVERVIEW
Rising Sun Domestic Violence and Abuse Service (Rising Sun) is an independent charity in Kent working to prevent domestic abuse and improve the lives of survivors and their children suffering from its effects. We have an ambitious vision for a world in which women and children live free from actual or threatened domestic abuse and all forms of violence.
Our team provide a range of services to adults and children who’ve experienced domestic abuse. We understand the impact of domestic abuse on survivors, so we listen to individual needs and respond in a trauma informed way. We provide one-to-one support and also deliver therapeutically informed group programmes to help survivors to recognise healthy/unhealthy behaviours in relationships and to understand the impact of domestic abuse. Bringing survivors together validates experiences and enables them to draw strength from one another.
JOB PURPOSE
As one of our High Support Needs IDVAs you will be part of our experienced and dedicated adult team reporting to the HSN IDVA Manager covering the Ashford District area, and your role will include a mixture of remote and office working. You’ll be providing a high-quality, frontline service to survivors of domestic abuse and play a crucial role in advocacy, risk assessment, safety planning and empowerment for our clients with more complex needs. You will assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse which are impacting their situation, and help them to regain control of their lives. You will support them to make informed and safe choices and to move forward.
Alongside working with survivors, you will develop and maintain productive relationships with partner organisations to strengthen multi-agency working and improve service outcomes for survivors.
We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for supporting people who is confident, resilient and has the ability to build strong relationships.
You will have experience of delivering domestic abuse interventions with survivors, including some whose individual circumstances are more complex. This might include clients with issues such as homelessness, poor mental health or drugs and alcohol use.
The nature of this work and being exposed to survivors’ trauma and challenges can have a negative impact on our own wellbeing as support workers, and therefore good self-awareness and the ability to recognise our own needs and put in place appropriate boundaries is essential. All team members are expected to exercise self-care and attend regular clinical supervision to mitigate the potential impact of vicarious trauma.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide high quality case work support and information to victims/survivors who have experienced domestic and/ or sexual violence and have high support needs.
- Support those who are experiencing domestic and sexual abuse to access services to keep themselves (and their children) safe and address their needs
- Identify and assess the needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist while taking a trauma informed approach
- Provide 1:1 support to survivors in the Ashford, Canterbury and Folkestone and Hythe districts, either over the phone, in community venues or at Rising Sun offices
- Manage a caseload in accordance with organisational policies and procedures and adhere to confidentiality
- Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and building positive working-relationships with team members
- Attend regular clinical supervision and case review meetings
- Hold weekly information and advice drop in sessions and facilitate relevant programmes when required i.e. Freedom Programme
- Participate in street walks to meet and build relationships and trust with street homeless
- Advocate for high risk victims with agencies who can help to address the domestic abuse by:
- Understanding the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to domestic abuse victims and how your role fits into them.
- Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to survivors including in relation to legal options, housing, health and finance.
- Effective partnership working with all key agency partners (including housing and other specialist services, such as drug and alcohol support) to address the safety of high risk victims and ensuring that their safety plans are coordinated particularly through the MARAC (multi-agency risk assessment conference).
- Identify training opportunities and provide training and support for housing staff and other relevant agencies as appropriate
- Work with volunteers (where appropriate) to enhance the capacity of the service
- Be responsible for personal well-being and exercise appropriate self-care
- Attend wider team meetings to share learning and feed into organisational developments
- Ensure that the service user is at the heart of all service delivery by encouraging participation in service development and reporting on their recommendations and complaints

The Independent Living Service (Direct Payments) is a new service that will provide support to Direct Payment users within the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The service will enable Disabled people to have genuine choice and control over the way in which they lead their lives. The post-holder will be working alongside disabled people to enable them to have more choice and control over their care and support needs.
The Role
In this role you will be providing essential information, advice and support to individuals from diverse backgrounds. You will work with Disabled clients to empower them to take control of the support they need by using Direct Payments, employing their own staff and accessing activities or services. You will ensure that individuals have the right information to make informed choices and will help them to set up and manage their chosen support.
You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience of budgeting and recruitment are essential for this role.
Experience of working in social care is not essential as training will be provided, however a “can-do” attitude, a commitment to a person-centred approach and a willingness to learn is a must. Being part of a small team, there is a lot of opportunity for you to develop and learn new skills.
The work is varied and calls upon a wide range of skills, and there is huge job satisfaction in supporting people to achieve greater wellbeing and independence.

About the Youth Endowment Fund
We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.
Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.
The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
We build demand and interest in evidence across the Children’s Services sector
This will include:
- Running events, speaking at conferences and curating webinars to bring evidence to life for practitioners
- We have great relationships with the people who can make change happen.
This will include:
- Developing great relationships with senior policy makers, sector leaders and experts, including representing YEF in external meetings and speaking at events.
- Managing a Strategic Advisory Board of leading experts across the children’s services sector and keep members onside and excited about our work.
We deliver our children’s services system recommendations.
This will include:
- Helping to identify the right recommendations at a system level (such as changes in policy, regulation, inspection, funding, or guidance) that make it more likely highly vulnerable children get access to the right support at the right time.
- Work out the best way to make our system recommendations happen (due for publication in December 2026) and then do it – persuading the key people to make changes that make a difference.
- Tracking progress carefully, being thoughtful and creative about when and how to change the plan.
We work out the most effective ways to connect people with the evidence, then make those things happen.
This will include:

They are now recruiting for a strong and supportive manager to help lead their Support Services. This role is initially a 6 month fixed term contract.
As Support Services Manager, you will line manage a team of frontline staff and will oversee the Support and Night services, consisting of 30 bed spaces for women with high support complex needs; the service aims to offer holistic support to these women, working alongside a range of partner organisations to facilitate a step-down move-on for women into semi-independent living. You will work to create and maintain key partnerships, continually ensuring that a high quality of service is delivered to all service users of the Project.

Job Description
This is a new role, joining a small and growing fundraising team. The purpose of this Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager role is to grow LMK’s income generation from Charitable Trusts and Foundations, to support delivery of LMK’s mission.
The role is a true combination of independent and collaborative working. Independent in the writing of bespoke funding applications and reports, maintaining accurate records on LMK’s CRM, and researching to continually build LMK’s pipeline of Trusts & Foundation prospects.

LOCATION OF THE POST HOLDER
The post holder will be required to work from our drop-in space and office in Central Glasgow and will have flexibility to work from home. There may be occasional travel throughout Scotland and the UK as part of the role, including to NUM’s main offices in Manchester. All equipment required for remote working will be provided and costs for travel outside of normal working spaces will be reimbursed by NUM.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are looking for an outstanding organiser and communicator to manage NUMbrella Lane (NBL) in Glasgow. NUMbrella Lane has been operating since 2022 after NUM took over aspects of the programming from the charity that ran Umbrella Lane. Since then, the project has evolved to provide in-person health and wellbeing support to Scotland-based sex workers and host events and outings within the community with a focus on community connectivity, reducing isolation and addressed root causes of interpersonal and intersectional violence. NBL is one of few sex worker-led services in the region and we seek innovative leadership that will execute our framework for change, build on partnerships, increase financial resources, and improve the service to the quality requested by communities of sex workers who live in or tour Scotland.
The post holder is a key point of contact who will further develop health testing services and other material support with, by and for sex workers. The NBL manager will co-design service delivery plans based on the needs of the community and NUM’s larger strategic vision; support the work of the Victim Support Case Worker based at NUMbrella Lane, the Mental Health Support Service Coordinator, and a new post, the Vocational Support Worker. The manager will be required to ensure the delivery of regular drop-in sessions, outings and events, and digital services in consultation with sex workers in Scotland and collaborate with the Manager of Support Services to support Victim and Vocational case work services to Glaswegians.
To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2 years’ experience as a manager in a position of public trust or in other leadership roles, have an excellent track record in program management and community development. Experience in or knowledge of adult industries is highly desirable. We value lived experience and welcome applicants with insight into the sector, but we do not require applicants to disclose personal histories. Experience with charity sector fund development and community development among marginalised communities are an asset.
The NBL manager must be knowledgeable about sex workers’ lived experiences, the socio-legal and political contexts within which sex workers and NUM are situated, and the ability to navigate a difficult terrain towards improving the systems, structures and services that influence the health and wellbeing of sex workers in Scotland in service to our mandate to 'end all forms of violence against sex workers' and eliminate the conditions that lead to poverty and survival sex work.
ABOUT NUM
National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is a UK-wide charity providing victim/survivor support and violence prevention services to sex workers, to ensure greater access to justice and protection. We serve sex workers of all genders, backgrounds and modes of work. We offer a digital tools reporting and alerting mechanism to warn sex workers about dangerous individuals who may target them; online screening tools; and individualised support for those who experience harm from a specialist team of Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA) and other experts. Some of this victim support work is done within formal partnerships with sister organisation. We run a wellbeing drop-in service in Glasgow and other in-person services and events in Manchester and London. We have developed Vocational Support Services for those exploring careers both in and outside of sex industries and we run a Racial Justice project that visibilises the lived experiences of harm among racialised sex workers towards systems change. We are currently enhancing services for sex workers who are 18-25 years of age and those under 30.
NUM values those with lived experience in sex industries and work with them to shape services and responses, conduct research, develop education packages, and participate in policy advocacy to change the conditions that lead to survival sex work, gain rights and recognition, and improve the safety of UK-based sex workers.
NUM is run by our CEO and governance is provided by a board of Trustees.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least 2 years' work experience as a manager or coordinator leading implementation of projects and services to marginalised populations with experience being responsible for environments and services.

Proven people management skills, including line management, supervision and coaching of staff and volunteers

Experience in project and partnership development, budgeting and fundraising.

Monitoring and evaluation skills, including data collection and reporting to funders.

Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to problem-solve and be proactive, within busy and challenging work environments.

A deep understanding of marginalisation and the health, safety and rights issues confronting sex workers in Scotland, as it relates to programming priorities, advocacy and partnerships.

High quality administrative skills and experience working with digital programs to document activities, deliver tasks on time and on budget. Specifically, proficiency with CRM systems, applications and digital platforms and services, particularly Google Workplace, the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Slack, Trello, and other project management programs and tools.
