About the Role
As Advice Manager, you’ll take a strategic lead on developing our advice service to ensure it is accessible and high-quality, and also actively challenge the root causes of inequality. The Advice Manager will have wide ranging responsibilities for the performance, quality assurance and development of internal advice services and will be responsible for achieving and evidencing high quality positive outcomes for service users.
You will Manage our advice teams: Information Navigation, Benefits Advice, Money Advice and our benefits advice contract with South West London and St Georges. We also administer a number of grants on behalf of local grant giving charities and the local authority and you will manage the administration of these grant funds.
We currently have 14 advisors across our advice teams including 2 team leaders in our Information Navigation (general advice) and South West London and St Georges benefits advice team, it is currently 8 direct reports.
As a key member of our management team you will work closely with other managers. You will also take a lead on Safeguarding and Data protection across the whole organisation and deputise for the CEO as required.
As our Advice Manager, you’ll take the lead in shaping and strengthening our vital advice services by
- Managing, supporting and inspiring a team of skilled advisers and volunteers.
- Developing and leading a high-quality advice service that meets the requirements of the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and that is responsive, inclusive, and empowering.
- Embedding systems for monitoring and evaluation, using data, outcomes, and client feedback to improve quality and impact.
- Driving service improvements, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Championing the voices of disabled people, feeding insight from frontline work into our policy and campaigning.
- Ensuring the service contributes to social justice, tackling systemic barriers and inequities through both individual casework and broader change.
- Representing the organisation externally including meeting and influencing local stakeholders including local councils, funders and advice organisations.
About you
You’re an experienced advice professional and a passionate advocate for social justice. We need someone with experience of working in an advice and representation role and with experience in managing a busy advice team. You understand the power of high-quality advice in changing lives — and the importance of using that insight to shift systems.
You will bring
- A strong track record in managing or coordinating advice services (e.g. welfare rights, housing, disability support).
- A strong understanding of the social model of disability and a commitment to its principles.
- Experience in quality assurance, monitoring, evaluation and using feedback to improve services and experience in managing safeguarding and managing data protection.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Working to specific income targets, the Supporter Engagement Manager is responsible for acquisition campaigns including regular giving, direct mail appeals, online fundraising, legacys; retention campaigns including ongoing stewardship to increase supporter engagement. You will grow relationships with supporters and work closely with wider fundraisering team to devise and execute creative and effective stewardship journeys. You will have a sound understanding of fundraising membership schemes and sector regulations, with knowledge of best practice CRM and/or fundrasing database.
The Supporter Engagement Manager will work with the Senior Head of Supporter Engagement to develop the strategy for increasing income across all individual giving streams and then work with the Marketing and Communications Manager and the wider team to impliment it. You will play an instrumental part in creatively engaging supporters to get involved in our high-value campaigns, events and regular giving programme. This includes our annual matched-funding campaign and reoccuring giving programmes, which last year raised £1m and £150k respectively. The post-holder will be key in taking the Individual Giving programme to the next level, providing proactive engagement opportunities and efficiently work with data to provide timely, targeted, relevant and engaging communications to our various supporters.

Our team works to raise the essential voluntary income that helps Anthony Nolan to save the lives of people with blood cancer. You will do this by reviewing and developing the Individual Giving programme to achieve our £3.7 million income forecast, along with managing the expenditure budget. You will put in place an audience-centric and insight-driven Individual Giving programme and propositions to best recruit, retain and develop the existing base of supporters. You will bring strong financial modelling and analytical skills to ensure our programme is insight and income driven.
As the Individual Giving Manager, you will work with your team of two senior officers to implement an integrated programme, whilst also project managing key high-impact individual giving campaigns. The Individual Giving & Community Fundraising Manager will have an exciting opportunity to grow World Child Cancer’s individual giving. The Role
Our Individual Giving programme is central to our fundraising strategy to increase our unrestricted, sustainable income. This is a key role in supporting the Individual Giving Manager to recruit and steward donors across a range of channels including face-to-face, telemarketing, direct mail and digital. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple programmes including regular giving, lottery, in-memory and legacy. This role will help to meet or exceed our annual targets which will help us provide the best care for patients, staff and loved ones at our hospitals.
Key Tasks
• Using evidence-based insights, support with the planning and implementation of several direct marketing campaigns across a range of channels including direct mail, email, social, display advertising and newsletters including managing suppliers on concept creation, oversight of copy and creative and delivery schedules. Work with the IG Manager on performance analysis and learning of programme to enable enhancements and improvements
• Support the IG Manager in the set up and operational management of our face-to-face fundraising campaigns for regular donor and lottery player recruitment. Including invoice processing, complaint handling, site management and training for third party fundraising teams
• Creation and delivery of our regular giving and lottery stewardship journeys. This will include researching and proving content, engaging with supporters and looking for opportunities to cross-sell
• Being proactive in writing up process documents and maintaining documents for Individual Giving Team
• Day-to-day point of contact with external agencies including face-to-face agencies, creative agencies, printers and fulfilment houses
• To support the Head of Supporter Engagement with the development of a legacy marketing programme
• Creation and delivery of our in-memory stewardship journey, including donors who set up tribute pages on MuchLoved
• Work with hospital staff and stakeholders to gather content, encourage fundraising and manage our contactless stations
• Work with our Supporter Services Team to monitor and action all feedback, and properly record supporter interactions on our database
• Work with the Communications Team to develop internal messaging for the Charity and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
• Work with the Finance Team to process invoices and ensure activities are properly coded

The postholder will lead on our very successful corporate sponsorship programme and will develop our individual giving programme. The role will be an opportunity to develop and lead programmes while being supported by the CEO and Senior Management Team with a chance to make a real impact.

The Individual Giving Officer will work with the Individual and Legacy Manager to provide an exceptional level of stewardship to donors.
The role will work to increase income from a diverse range of products including our online shop, funeral collections, stewardship journeys and individual gifts. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, empathy for those affected by bowel cancer, and a desire to show the impact of donations are all essential. You’ll also be a team player and capable of organising and managing a busy workload.
