About the role

The Finance and Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the charity’s financial and operational functions. This includes managing day-to-day accounting, producing management reports, maintaining and improving processes, line-managing the administrator, and leading key projects across Finance, IT and HR. The role plays a central part in supporting the operational effectiveness and strategic growth of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

• Manage the charity’s day-to-day accounts, ensuring accurate and timely bookkeeping.
• Prepare financial reports for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and management staff.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and financial performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Support annual audits and liaise with external accountants as required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and charity reporting standards.

Operations

• Develop and implement operational processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Line manage the Administrator, ensuring they support both finance (bookkeeping) and wider administrative tasks across the organisation.
• Oversee HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and record-keeping, as part of operational projects.
• Manage IT and technology initiatives, including the implementation of systems to improve organisational efficiency.
• Project manage key organisational initiatives in finance, HR, and IT, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.

Collaboration

• Act as a key point of contact for operational matters across the organisation.
• Work closely with the SLT to provide insights and recommendations based on financial and operational data.
• Support the team in adopting and embedding new processes and technologies.

Qualifications

• Recognised financial qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CAI, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAS, ICAEW, or equivalent)

Experience

• Proven experience in organisational finance and bookkeeping
• Experience in producing management accounts and reports for senior leadership
• Experience in project management, particularly in implementing finance, HR, or IT systems.

The Role 

The CSJ Foundation is looking for a Regional Portfolio Manager (North) to join its Portfolio team to help grow and professionalise it’s offering to charities and donors alike. The CSJF has big ambitions for its work with small charities over the next 3 years, central to this work is our Portfolio team. Based in the north of England (ideally north of Sheffield), the post-holder will be responsible for delivering first-rate charity due diligence on some of the best small charities in the UK. In this role you will use tech solutions to drive insights and understanding about CSJF’s work with charities, in addition, the post-holder will gather intel from frontline charities to create insights to inform the CSJ’s policy work. The post-holder will also seek to generate interesting media stories. The post holder will help to generate new income for the CSJF through multiple streams. The post-holder will work towards pre-agreed targets to grow the CSJF’s work, fully supported by the Managing Director and other colleagues. The Regional Portfolio Manager will hold responsibility for building and maintaining relationships with multiple charities based in the North of England, engaging in conversations with local organisations and individuals, to ensure that the CSJF’s work is driven forward effectively. 

The Person 

• Possessing the skills and aptitude to develop new policies and practices for delivering charity/portfolio services

Main Responsibilities 

Responsibilities for this post include:

• Be a leading member of the CSJF’s portfolio team helping to professionalise and enhance our charity due diligence work

• Work with colleagues to develop a first-class data-input and reporting platform (or database) of charities to monitor their impact and activities
• Use this data to generate insights and presentations to showcase our work

About This Job

This is an exciting role in Army Cadet Headquarters which provides administrative support to the functional delivery areas of the syllabus. We are looking for a person to bring their skills, enthusiasm, and personal credibility to the team and support administration across both our volunteer staff and employed workforce.

This post is primarily to support DofE and First Aid but may, where required, be surged to cover short term administrative responsibilities for other activity areas.

About the Role

Working alongside the Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting the day to day running of the BDD Foundation while leading on key projects during this three month cover period. The primary focus of this role will be to oversee and manage the Overcoming BDD Programme (OBP), ensuring effective delivery, volunteer support and supervision, and a high quality, compassionate experience for all participants.

In addition to the Overcoming BDD Programme, you will provide project management support across other core initiatives, including the Schools Project, Conference planning, and any additional projects that form part of the charity’s priorities during this period. You will work collaboratively with the team to maintain operational efficiency, uphold the charity’s values, and contribute to activities that extend our impact and support the BDD community.

This role also involves HR responsibilities, including overseeing the full employee life cycle of staff and volunteers, reviewing and updating charity policies, and managing any people or volunteer related queries or concerns. Knowledge and understanding of HR processes is desirable, but not essential - this can be discussed at interview or offer stage should it not already be part of your skillset.

As Community Programme Manager, you’ll join our independent adoption support charity, oversee our volunteer, peer support and event provision.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised ‘self-starting’ individual with experience of working with user-run communities. You will use your strong relationship-building skills to proactively engage WAF members and volunteers, to continue providing peer-led support and to create new opportunities for adopters to connect across the UK.

Governance Manager (12-months maternity cover)

About the role

This is an exciting time to join Emmaus UK and provide maternity cover for our Governance Manager.

This standalone role is responsible for managing the operations of the board and committees of Emmaus UK, as well as for providing support to local boards at Emmaus communities across Great Britain as they look to develop their governance arrangements.

The postholder will manage the board of trustees, leading on recruitment, induction and compliance, ensuring meetings run smoothly and are minuted effectively. They will also work as company secretary, managing the smooth-running of the AGM, and ensuring returns are made to Companies House and the Charity Commission within appropriate timeframes.

The Governance Manager is responsible for monitoring the development of policies, tracking completion and working with managers to continuously improve policies in line with changing regulation.

The role will also involve extensive work with members of the Emmaus movement, through the performance of reviews of local governance of members, reporting back to local boards on areas to celebrate and actions to develop. They will also be responsible for developing Emmaus UK’s best practice toolkit for trustees to refer to in developing their local governance arrangements, and for liaising with the wider Emmaus movement through facilitation of the membership processes with Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International.

Emmaus UK Governance

• Manage the board of trustees, leading on recruitment, delivering a comprehensive and appropriate induction, dealing with enquiries, maintaining declarations of interest, skills audit and eligibility forms and ensuring all details are up to date and accurate.
• Act as company secretary for Emmaus UK, leading on the preparation for and delivery of the Annual General Meeting, filing required returns, developing documents associated with membership, and ensuring the charity is compliant with relevant charity and company law.

​Board and Committee Meetings

• Coordinate board meetings including organising venues, liaison with the relevant secretary and chairs in creating agendas, preparing and distributing papers and taking and circulating accurate minutes
• Oversee the smooth-running of committee meetings in conjunction with the admin team, including creation of the annual calendar.
• Ensure all follow up actions are coordinated, and ongoing rolling actions logs are maintained and appropriately shared with the Emmaus UK staff team.

Emmaus UK Governance Development

• Lead on governance projects within Emmaus UK, including but not limited to risk, policy management and internal governance reviews, reporting to the Board and subcommittees as appropriate.
• Provide governance advice and support to staff members on an ad hoc basis.
• Monitor all internal policies and procedures ensuring they are fit for purpose and kept under review by the relevant staff members.

​Federation Governance

• Lead on reviews of members’ local governance arrangements, scheduling, undertaking analysis, reviewing documentation, collating responses from members and observations from Emmaus UK Senior Leadership Team members, and reporting to local boards on findings and Emmaus UK’s Audit & Risk Committee on emerging themes.
• Provide guidance for federation members on governance development through ad hoc advice, the production of governance toolkits and supporting resources.
• Facilitate the membership processes and requirements for Emmaus Europe and Emmaus International, supporting transitioning members and contributing to movement-wide events such as the World and Regional Assemblies, international visits and exchange programmes.

About You

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, the postholder will work closely with colleagues across the Income Generation and Marketing teams to deliver on a positive donor/ supporter experience with the aim of retention of current supporters for the long-term as well as acquisition of new donors, maximising the potential of all of our supporters. This is one of two District Property Secretary roles in North West England Methodist District, who will be the first point of contact on all matters relating to property. Using their knowledge of land and buildings, and their use and maintenance, in addition to knowledge of governance in the Methodist church context, the postholders will ensure a coherent and holistic approach to property across the District. 

Key Responsibilities 

Provide advice to churches and circuits on property-related matters

Work with colleagues, including ministers and lay members of the circuits and churches within the District, to maximise utilisation of property and land across the District for mission and income generation, in line with Connexional property strategy

- Support with selling properties

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager to own the transition to a new, user-centred Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, Bynder, at a pivotal moment in our modernisation journey.

Working with the Senior Product Manager for Brand Systems, you'll ensure Bynder evolves to meet user and organisational needs, acting as our central hub for visual brand assets. You'll support data migration, contribute to metadata and tagging strategies, and help improve our current processes to strengthen the Brand & Marketing team's vision and responsibilities.

You'll work closely with our communications teams, as well as colleagues across the organisation in frontline science, membership and fundraising roles. You'll also manage and support relationships with creative and strategic partners to make sure our systems deliver imagery that reflects the breadth of our conservation work and the diversity of the communities we represent for nature.

This is a new role with the opportunity to shape how we look after one of our most important resources, our brand visual identity, and to help colleagues across the organisation make the most of it.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the day-to-day product owner for Bynder, configuring permissions and workflows.
• Maintain a simple backlog of user feedback and system developments, prioritising improvements in line with brand and organisational goals.
• Support the configuration and ongoing optimisation of Bynder to meet internal user needs across brand, marketing and communications teams, as well as the wider organisation and creative and commercial partners.
• Develop and implement, and continually improve, metadata schema, tagging conventions and folder structures that reflect brand priorities and user needs.
• Help apply and maintain a curation strategy aligned to our core brand themes and communication needs.
• Help deliver team training on Bynder across brand, marketing and communications, supporting teams to become both fluent users and champions of the new DAM.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Proven experience working with Bynder or other enterprise-level Digital Asset Management systems.
• Experience designing metadata and asset categorisation strategies.
• Strong understanding of asset lifecycle, curation, rights management and taxonomy.
• Understanding of asset value in both strategic and commercial contexts, including how to compete or compare against commercial photo libraries.
• Experience managing transitions or migrations between digital platforms.
• Confident communicator, able to act as the voice of the user, collaborate across teams and translate user needs into platform structure.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Understanding of branding, content workflows, and the needs of creative or communications teams.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Previous experience in brand, marketing, content operations or product ownership, particularly where digital asset management or creative workflow systems were involved.
• Familiarity with onboarding and training content creators or comms staff on digital tools including creating training materials.
• Knowledge of creative file formats (e.g. image, video, design assets) and usage rights.

Additional Information:

• This is a 12 month Fixed-Term, Full-Time role for 37.5 hours per week.
