Black Thrive Global (BTG) works to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black communities. We embed race equity in systems change and co-create solutions alongside communities. 

Just Like Us (JLU) is the UK’s LGBT+ young people’s charity, empowering 18–25-year-olds to share their experiences in schools and improve LGBT+ inclusion through peer-led talks and ambassador programmes. 

This joint role represents an exciting partnership between two organisations committed to racial justice, LGBTQ+ inclusion and systemic transformation. 

1. Just Like Us (3.5 days/week): To support the delivery of Just Like Us’ Ambassador and School Talks programmes – including recruitment, training and coordination of young LGBT+ volunteers and engaging with schools to foster inclusive environments. 

2.  Black Queer & Thriving: There is potential for this role to expand in scope (up to 1.5 additional days per week), subject to funding. Should this occur, the role may include additional responsibilities in line with the aims of the Black LGBTQ+ Working Group and Southwark engagement priorities. Any change in working hours or duties would be discussed and agreed in advance. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

Just Like Us (3.5 days/week) 

- Support the delivery of the Ambassador Programme, including recruitment, training and retention of LGBT+ volunteers aged 18–25. 

- Coordinate and run community events for Black LGBT+ young people to support outreach and recruitment of volunteers. 

- Represent Just Like Us at events such as conferences and prides to amplify our programmes to a range of audiences. 

- Support Just Like Us volunteer recruitment drives by building relationships with university societies and volunteering services, community partners and charity partners in London and the South East. 

- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of LGBT+ mentors. 

- Attend relevant cross-team meetings with the Just Like Us team such as the fortnightly Ambassador Recruitment meeting 

- Support with the quality assurance of school talks through observations and slide checks. 

- Assist the volunteering team with the coordination and delivery of ambassador skills workshops where needed. 

- Work with the project evaluation consultant to assist with the running of focus groups.

- Conduct exit interviews with Black LGBT+ ambassadors. 

-Support on a social action project with Black LGBT+ ambassadors in Year 3 

- Ensure all activities are inclusive, trauma-informed and aligned with principles of equity and justice.

The Director of Development will be responsible for developing and achieving the organisation's income strategy, with particular focus on developing, prospecting, and building relationships with high value donors, corporates, financial advisors, and wealth management. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, this role will be a strategic Director, whilst also leading on key donor facing relationships. This role will be critical to leading and executing successful engagement strategies for both internal and external stakeholders, with the support of a small team of two.

The successful candidate will be able to evidence setting strategy and delivering successful high value income generation growth. This person will be able to demonstrate identifying and securing gifts of a six-figure plus level. They will have a proven track record of developing and maintaining strategic senior networks. This person will have managed other team members before and be a strong communicator with other senior internal stakeholders and external donors.

About the job

We're looking for a Democracy Coordinator to help support and grow Arts SU's democratic spaces. You'll play a key role in making sure students are involved, informed and empowered through forums, elections and other democratic activities. You'll oversee our Ideas Platform and work closely with sabbatical officers and teams across UAL to keep these spaces student-led and relevant. You'll also be the operational lead for our student elections - from technical set-up to support candidates and making sure everything runs fairly and transparently. You'll help develop policies, run training sessions, promote democratic engagement, and be the go-to person for students with questions about how the SU represents students. It's a varied role that puts students at the hear of decision-making while making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

Who we are looking for

We want someone who's organised, flexible and great at juggling different projects. You should have experience with governance or working in democratic or community settings, and you'll need to be comfortable explaining processes in simple ways. Communication is key - you'll need to be confident with communicating with diverse groups of students and staff both, face-to-face and in writing. We want someone who's positive, approachable and a team player who is happy to collaborate. You'll understands the importance of what equality and diversity means for our students to help create welcoming spaces for everyone as well as ensuring they feel included and heard.

What Makes This Role Special

This role combines essential Salesforce administration skills with a hands-on data management. While you'll need strong Salesforce technical capabilities for system configuration, user management, and troubleshooting, much of your day-to-day work will involve processing and maintaining supporter data. We need someone who values both technical expertise and the precision required for detailed data work.

What You'll Do

Salesforce Administration:

• Manage Salesforce CRM including user management, permissions, system configuration, and security
• Deploy updates, maintain custom fields and flows, and ensure data integrity
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues

Data Management & Processing:

• Process and maintain data from multiple external platforms and income sources
• Keep supporter records up to date including addresses, direct debit details, and preferences
• Conduct regular data quality checks, error correction, and reconciliation processes

Reporting & Analytics:

• Generate data reports and create dashboards for management and teams
• Extract and compile data for mailings, campaigns, and impact reporting

Technology & Innovation:

• Support implementation of AI integration (Dataro) and evaluate new Salesforce features
• Maintain platform integrations and support digital technology improvements
• Stay current with Salesforce updates and best practices

Support & Collaboration:

• Develop streamlined data entry processes and documentation
• Support colleagues with database queries and technical issues
• Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection regulations

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking someone with strong Salesforce CRM administration skills, excellent analytical abilities, and experience in charity fundraising processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent Excel skills, understanding of data protection principles, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across all departments.
