The Role

FareShare has a dynamic fundraising department that has seen incredible growth in support in an incredibly short space of time. We are now looking for a proven Supporter Retention Manager to join us as we embark on our next phase of deepening engagement with current and new supporters.

This newly created role is an integral part of the Fundraising team’s growth plans to become a £40 million income generating team.

Working closely with the Supporter Acquisition Manager, Supporter Experience Manager (Fundraising Operations) and the wider Fundraising team, the post-holder will lead on stewardship campaigns encompassing Warm Appeals, Regular Giving asks, Supporter newsletters and cross-sell campaigns across FareShare’s audiences. Line management of an Individual Giving Officer (or Assistant) may form part of the roles and responsibilities further down the line.

The role offers a fantastic opportunity for a proven Individual Giving professional to help drive innovation in supporter retention and development and make a decisive contribution to a high-performing team.

Main areas of responsibility

1.Plan and deliver the Warm Appeals programme in line with agreed budget targets and annual workplans

• Campaign manage the Cash Appeals programme at all stages, from initial planning through to supplier management and post-campaign analysis
• Develop and implement a rolling programme of Regular Giving Asks.

2.Develop and manage a seamless supporter journey and consistency of messaging from the initial touchpoint through to longer-term giving

• Work with the Supporter Acquisition Manager and the Supporter Experience Manager on planning, delivering and managing a seamless supporter journey and consistency of messaging from the point of acquisition
• Actively monitor Supporter attrition levels and implement measures to mitigate disengagement

Our Support Workers work to help individuals overcome barriers to achieving wellbeing, whether it be through guidance in the support system, learning new skills or supporting service users to build the confidence and skills to enable them to navigate their life challenges and advocate for themselves. We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

You’ll provide expert nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s and related conditions to people contacting Parkinson’s UK national helpline. 

You’ll empower people affected by Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers to live lives that are as fulfilling as possible whatever that means to them; and that they feel able to take an active role in their treatment and become their own advocate in health and life, wherever possible.

What you’ll do:

• Provide expert telephone nursing advice, support and information on Parkinson’s, signposting clients to appropriate internal and external resources as necessary.

• Develop and update professional knowledge of all aspects of Parkinson’s and Parkinsonism to ensure that the information and advice provided is accurate and based on best available evidence.

• Undertake national helpline work to ensure cover across the helpline’s working hours and in line with guidance and as part of a dedicated team.

• Maintain your own knowledge of the work of the charity and other health and social care providers.

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to provide information on Parkinson’s medications without prescribing or recommending specific drugs. 

• Knowledge of the importance of raising safeguarding concerns.

• Experience of providing telephone support, including use of active listening and questioning skills, and demonstrable digital competence, including online case management systems

• Ability to cope with challenging or emotional situations and/or people. 

• Able to work collaboratively and in partnership with others.
