Responsibilities and Person Specification:

The Head of Governance will lead the charity’s small Governance and Risk, and Facilities teams. They are responsible for governance, company secretarial, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, information governance, procurement and contracts management, business continuity planning, and management of facilities and the charity's office and small portfolio of other properties.

The role would suit someone who enjoys a broad remit and working with colleagues across the charity, who can think around issues and implement pragmatic solutions. As the role has a wide remit, the ability to learn quickly will be key. Candidates will need senior level experience of charity governance, risk management and safeguarding, ideally working with adults at risk. Applicants will need to be good communicators, verbally and in writing.

This role is 0.5FTE (17.5 hours per week). There is some flexibility around how the hours can be worked, but hours would normally be worked across 2.5 days a week, with attendance required at specific times for management and trustee meetings. Office attendance will be required on average 2 days a week for meetings and due to responsibility for office management.

About the role

FLEX is looking for a passionate advocate with a good understanding of the UK political system, of labour abuse and/or exploitation and human trafficking in the UK, and demonstrable experience of coalition working and building relationships with key stakeholders working in the anti-trafficking, employment rights, and/or immigration sectors. This recruitment comes at an exciting and challenging time for our work at the intersection of employment rights and immigration policy. Our Participation and Involvement Manager will build on existing practice across the organisation and lead on the implementation and further development of a participation and involvement framework, enabling a large and diverse range of kinship carers to share their views and expertise meaningfully, safely and effectively to shape Kinship’s activity. • Overseeing learning systems, including the implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS), managing training requests, e-learning delivery, and robust evaluation and reporting.
• Ensuring all training complies with Refuge’s policies and safeguarding commitments, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
• Managing training budgets and partnerships effectively, contributing to organisational development and supporting the wider People & Culture team as needed.

Westway Trust is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join their existing dedicated and friendly team of sessional workers to provide ad-hoc support to various departments within the charity. By joining us you will be instrumental in the services and support we provide to our local community in North Kensington.

About you:

You will need to have the right balance of knowledge and experience with excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills and will be available to work at short notice.  You ideally will reside in North Kensington or nearby, and will be committed to working for a charity supporting and enhancing the lives of people in the local community.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

Administration:

• Handling general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and document preparation.
• Assisting with office organisation and supply management.
• Diary management.
• Respond to enquiries (internal and external).

Receptionist:

• Provide a professional and friendly welcome for all visitors to the building.
• Manage meeting room bookings.
• Set-up and clear-down meeting rooms.
• Receive and respond to incoming calls.
• Open and close the building at the designated times each day.
• Sort and distribute post.
• Signpost safeguarding concerns in line with the safeguarding policy.

Events Support:

• Provide administrative support and excellent customer service.
• Preparing rooms/areas for meetings and events, including the moving of equipment such as tables and chairs.
• Provide support on event day.

Knowledge and Experience:

You will have experience in one or more of the following roles:

• Administration.
• Event support.
• Receptionist.

Job Title: Peripatetic Domestic Violence Worker

Location: London based, with regular travel required nationwide across all Refuge services. This may include periods of homeworking and periods where overnight stays outside of London may be required. Please note it is a requirement of this post that the postholder lives in London. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who live within the London boroughs of Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Hounslow, Westminster and Barking and Dagenham.
Salary: £30,726.57 per annum

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

As part of this role, you will be required to participate in an out-of-hours on call rota.
