We’re looking for an ambitious fundraiser to successfully implement key objectives within our five-year fundraising strategy to enable our community projects to thrive and grow. The successful candidate will be able to work independently with a proactive attitude, as well as working collaboratively within our wider team.

This is an exciting role that would suit a fundraiser who is looking for a new challenge, someone who has a successful track record in securing grants & leading fundraising initiatives and who wants to move to the next stage of their career by leading on a multi-faceted 5-year fundraising strategy for a small but growing grass roots organisation. About the Role

This is a part time role, 3 days (22.5 hours) per week

It will be offered as a permanent contract with a full time equivalent annual salary of £37,000 - £40,000 (pro rata £22,200 - £24,000)

This is a hybrid role with one day per week at our office address of School 360, Sugar House Lane, Stratford, E15 2QS. The other two days can be worked from home and/or for community visits as needed across the London Borough of Newham

This project will restore 75 km of rare urban chalk stream habitat and connect over 20,000 people with their local rivers through hands-on conservation, education, and citizen science.

As Development Lead, you will shape the Trust’s first Engagement Strategy, coordinate an extensive community consultation programme, and manage the London Volunteering and Engagement Programme. You will also oversee delivery partners and help develop a major funding application for the next phase of work. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in strategic project management, collaborative programme design, and large-scale heritage funding.

Our operations team is led by the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and includes the finance and bookings & venue teams. This is a newly created role that will report directly to the COO and work closely with the wider operations team.

Scope of role

The role supports the delivery of our IT, facilities, health and safety across operations. They act as the first point of contact with outsourced providers and co-ordinate any work related to these areas.
The role is in place to support the project management and delivery of a set of work programs and there is a level of autonomy to make decisions on a project / work area basis within an agreed framework to deliver.
The role will hold the IT budget, and support COO with facilities budget; thus it is expected that there is a good understanding of the budgets to understand constraints and opportunities. The role can make spending decisions up to £2,000.
This role is designed to allocate approximately 60% of the focus on core IT functions and 40% on facilities and operational oversight including procurement.
They will be expecting to advise COO and wider SMT on IT and Operations related plans for the year.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Information Technology & Systems

• Be responsible with the support of the COO and wider SMT with all IT related strategy including procurement and streamline of new IT service provider/s. Including setting up KPIs’ and using these to assess performance.
• Manage the setup of new staff – including the procurement of equipment required for the role – this includes all communication tools.
• Managing the relationship and being the key point of contact with the technology suppliers and technology support providers.
• Identifying cost savings/efficiencies in the tech stack.
• Supporting IT KIT refresh plans and purchase, this includes audit of needs and vendor negotiations and lifecycle planning with the COO.
• Leading on regular assessment of IT and systems needs for all services and administrative staff.
  Facilities, Health and Safety & General Administration
• Act as the main point of contact with our property management company. Work with the COO to escalate issues.
• Book in contractors and maintain all required documentation in conjunction with other key stake holders (property manager/agent).
• Be the escalation point for maintenance issues, liaising with the property management company to make sure that issues are dealt with in a satisfactory manner.
• Work with H&S consultants and property managers to ensure all relevant training is planned for and carried out and Risk assessments are being completed and used.
• Work with HR to ensure that all relevant training is planned for and carried out.
• Maintain records for all mandatory tests in conjunction with our property agents.
• Liaise with the Events and Venue Manager to ensure building management is always in place, keyholding, security etc.
• Ensure smooth operations of front of house – including reception and security rotas and arranging additional cover as needed for events.

Projects

• Manage ad hoc projects on behalf of the operations team; such as refurbishments, implementation of printer management.

General

• Building good working relationships across the organisation
• Representing Toynbee Hall to external audiences
• Developing an open and ‘critical friend’ dialogue within our programmatic work
• Undertaking any other appropriate responsibilities that may arise such as top up of franking machines, and general administrative orders as needed.
• Hold regular catch ups with team members, and ensure they are meeting their yearly appraisals.

Salary: £25,000 – £27,500 pro rata

1. Full time:

   • 29 days per year annual leave - maximum of 5 days to be taken in school term time

2. Part-time (0.8)

   • 2 positions available: 1 position in London and 1 position in Manchester (potential for Manchester position to be full time)

   • 30 hours a week Tuesday - Friday with a mixed working pattern: School term time: approximately 2 days 9:00-17:30 and 2 days 11:00-19:30, and School holidays: 9:00-17:30

   • 23 days per year annual leave - maximum of 4 days to be taken in school term time

ICT & Facilities Assistant (Part-Time)
Fulham-based, with travel to sites across London
Monday to Friday, 9am–2pm (25 hours per week)

We’re supporting a small, well-established charity that provides housing and support to vulnerable people. They’re looking for an ICT & Facilities Assistant to join their friendly team and help keep their digital systems running smoothly – and their staff supported and connected.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, values meaningful work, and is comfortable being the go-to person for day-to-day IT support.

What you’ll be doing:

• Acting as first-line support for all things IT – from SharePoint and Teams to mobile phones, AV kit and the organisation’s in-house CRM.

• Logging and escalating more complex tech issues to the external ICT contractor or your line manager as needed.

• Setting up user accounts, permissions and access rights, with a focus on security and good cyber hygiene.

• Helping with onboarding new staff, setting up laptops and workstations, and delivering basic Office 365 training.

• Keeping IT documentation up to date – including inventories, guides and user manuals.

• Supporting with basic facilities tasks, including office moves and covering the Fulham site reception on occasion.

What we’re looking for:

• A qualification in IT (e.g. diploma or degree) and strong working knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Teams and SharePoint.

• Experience supporting hardware (laptops, phones, tablets) and networking infrastructure.

• A good grasp of cyber security best practices.

• Someone proactive, organised and approachable – a natural helper who’s happy juggling different tasks.

• An understanding of, or interest in, the challenges faced by ex-Service men and women.

This is an office-based role working 9am–2pm, Monday to Friday. You'll be based in Fulham, with occasional travel to other sites across London.
