About the role

The role of Team Leader is essential to the day-to-day management of the East London

Families Service and, in particular, the delivery of front-line services, local contracts and projects. You will lead and supervise the staff and volunteer team that delivers specialist advocacy, empowerment, advice and systems change within their local community and contribute to the Community Services Directorate priorities and deliver our goal of challenging discriminatory practices. Ultimately, you will do all you can to ensure we provide an excellent quality service that meets the needs of those who need our help and that everyone has access to a safe and affordable home.

About you

You will need experience of working with vulnerable families with multiple complex needs and in a multi-disciplinary context with partners, community groups and other agencies. Also you will need  experience of staff and service management, casework support, safeguarding and supervision, along with excellent communication skills to line manage others and promote effective working relationships, with external agencies, people with lived experience and internally across Shelter. You must be proficient in the use of a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems and Microsoft applications.

Our London hub specialises in providing housing advice and emergency homelessness work, intensive support to families, people experiencing domestic abuse and people experiencing multiple disadvantage along with practical DIY assistance.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed or be working towards qualification as a payroll specialist. You should understand the core principles of payroll, including calculating gross and net pay, and be familiar with relevant payroll legislation, such as PAYE and NI contributions. You should be detail-oriented and be able to apply your knowledge of payroll software. The ability to explain payroll matters clearly and be able to resolve queries relating to the payroll as they arise will be key to your success.

Your contribution to the team
You will support all financial aspects of budgeting, reporting, compliance and financial management of grants managed by ARTICLE 19, including all finance-related work with grant-receiving partners. The role is a key part of improving our programme delivery by supporting grant budget holders.

What you can expect in a typical day

• To support production of financial reports in compliance with donor and internal ARTICLE 19 requirements for a portfolio of projects managed by ARTICLE 19.
• To generate and review transactional reports and follow through as necessary with corrections and adjustments.
• To receive, process and account for expenditure by grant partners, including reviewing supporting documentation.
• To produce reforecasts where required by the donor, with input from grant budget holders.
• To work in conjunction with the fundraising and relevant project team during proposal development. Provide support on budgeting, ensuring budget is in alignment with the proposal, is realistic and provides ARTICLE 19 with favourable terms. Provide guidance on finance donor compliance that will inform the proposal and budget development.
• Ensure that proposals comply with ARTICLE 19’s internal policies, in particular full cost recovery principles and policies.
• To support compliance of grants with ARTICLE 19 financial policies where appropriate, e.g. anti-bribery and corruption, both internally and compliance by our partners, raising any concerns with the Grant Finance Manager.
• To monitor grant cash flow and ensure payment requests are made and processed in the finance system in timely manner to the donor.
• To review grant cash requests from Regional Offices.
• To business partner International Office teams who are majority grant funded. This includes producing monthly management accounts; supporting budget holders to prepare annual budget and coordinate responses to the budget holder.
• To consider how improvements can be made to procedures for processing transactions, reporting and any other issues which would contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of ARTICLE 19’s finance function.
• Support the finance team in any audit process, including internal, statutory and donor audits.

What you will bring to the role

Knowledge and Skills
• Qualified accountant with a CCAB recognised qualification (if UK based), or HBO or HBO + work and thinking level with a degree in Accounting (Registered Accountant, RA (Financial), Management, Business Administration, Controlling (if based in The Netherlands) or working towards qualification, or qualified through relevant work experience.
• Understanding of accounting for restricted income and expenditure in line with international nonprofit financial reporting standards and donor requirements.
• Understanding of double entry and how to make corrections and adjustments in accounting systems.
• Excellent Excel skills, including vlookups, sumifs and ability to self-learn in this area.
• Ability to work quickly, methodically with close attention to detail.
• Experience in partner due diligence and partner finance management, including reviewing financial capacity, assessing financial risk, and supporting partners to strengthen financial systems and compliance.
• Good inter-personal skills including experience of working cross-culturally, across different time zones and with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and in high pressure situations whilst maintaining a calm and positive attitude.
• Ability to negotiate but understanding where the ‘red lines’ are and to gain compliance with them through dialogue.
• Awareness of digital security issues and ability to communicate through secure means of communications.
• Fluency in written and spoken English, and Dutch (if based in The Netherlands). 

Experience
• Experience in restricted grant reporting, ideally in an international development
context.
• Experience of business partnering in a complex environment.
• Experience in producing grant budgets in compliance with donor requirements, and that
recover overhead and central costs.
• Experience of working with overseas partners and offices, understanding different
cultural and regulatory environments.
• Understanding of compliance, external and internal audit process and internal controls.

The symptoms of bipolar can emerge at any age and the condition is increasingly affecting young people, who are more likely to screen positive than older generations. It also has a profound impact on the families and friends of those affected and the need for a dedicated national bipolar charity has never been greater.

Bipolar UK is the only national charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by bipolar, and we offer peer support at the core of our work. Our aim is to provide a nationwide Peer Support Service for people affected by bipolar and increase the reach of our delivery. Since 2019, we have been building a cross-cutting thematic programme using our investor accountability, corporate engagement and public policy toolkit to build a movement to harness the power of the investment system to address commercial determinants of health.

In 2022, we launched Long-Term Investors in People’s Health (LIPH), a cross-cutting programme of work leveraging our toolkit of investor accountability, corporate engagement and policy advocacy. It is one of ShareAction’s largest programmes. Since the launch of LIPH, we have run high-profile campaigns to get large food manufacturers and retailers to improve their health disclosures and sell healthier products via our Healthy Markets Initiative (HMI); recently set up a Clean Air Initiative (CAI); mobilised investors to engage with corporates, the UK government, and standard-setting bodies on issues such as clean air and sick leave policies; and partnered with academics to grow the evidence base on the financial materiality of health. We have ambitious plans to take this work forward and are looking for a new Head of the team to help us do so.

As Head of Health, you will:

• Oversee and contribute to the successful implementation of ShareAction’s strategy to tackle poor health via its LIPH programme, a cross-cutting programme of work leveraging our toolkit of investor accountability, corporate engagement and policy advocacy.
• Lead and motivate a team of 10 staff members and directly line manage at least three of them.
• Ensure adequate risk management and monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes are in place.
• Together with the Fundraising team and Co-Director of Corporate Engagement, be responsible for securing funding for the LIPH programme, including writing funding bids, supporting with relationship management, supporting the coordination of our Funders’ Governance Group, and helping produce update reports.
• Plan, manage and report on budget for the LIPH programme, delegating workstream and campaign budgets where there are appropriate leads.
• Develop and nurture strategic relationships with senior external stakeholders, including funders, journalists, investors, and civil society organisations.
• Act as one of ShareAction’s subject matter experts on commercial determinants of health, keeping your knowledge up to date with developments across academia, civil society, and public policy.
• Act as a media spokesperson for the team and represent it in internal and external forums.
• Work with peers at the “Head of” level to play a leadership role across ShareAction.

About the role:

You are able to work a hybrid with 3 days working from the office in Southampton and 2 days working from home.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Make calls to offer support to victims of crime, delivering immediate support.
• Develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime who accept ongoing support, which will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users
• Work alongside and oversee the casework management of a small number of volunteer supporters
• Liaise and actively engage with other local providers to share information on the VS service offer and options for victims and survivors
• Use a bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to monitoring information including the collection of outcomes
• Working as part of a team with staff and the volunteer team to provide a seamless service to clients

You will need:

Position Overview: 

At CPI we believe people are at the heart of our success. We are seeking a Grants Officer (Associate)   based in Europe to join our CPI Europe (CPIE) team. Your role is  critical  in ensuring the smooth delivery of the AI Opportunity Fund. The Trust has achieved a great deal over the last 5 years, securing funding from public sources, trusts, and foundations. This newly created role will build on this success and attract substantial support from individuals and corporate sources. It involves working with internal and external stakeholders to raise funds for core funding, projects, and capital campaigns. We are looking for a Community Fundraising Lead to join the Supporter Led fundraising team at Scope.

You will be responsible for strategically developing and delivering Scope’s Community Fundraising income stream. You will lead your team in the development and growth of our community fundraising, including the development of do it yourself (DIY) fundraising products to support community fundraising efforts.

You will be responsible for setting and reporting on clear objectives and key performance indicator (KPI) milestones to deliver the community fundraising strategy. Your team will be responsible for ensuring that fundraisers and volunteers have an excellent experience with Scope, optimising the income they raise through community events and ensuring their long term support of the charity.

The role

As the Community Fundraising Lead, you will set the vision and strategy for community fundraising at Scope:

· Develop a Community Fundraising strategy for Scope and lead your team in its implementation.

· Review the performance, opportunities, and risks of existing community fundraising activity. Take action to leverage opportunities that maximise income, engagement, and brand exposure, and minimise risk.

· Drive an audience led approach to innovation, establishing a community fundraising programme that inspires and engages local communities working closely with Services and Retail colleagues.

· Ensure the Community Fundraising programme aligns with Scope’s charitable goals and vision, working collaboratively with stakeholders across departments.

· Lead your team to develop do it yourself (DIY) fundraising products and ideas to support community fundraising efforts.

About you

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced fundraising leader, with experience in developing and building successful community fundraising programmes.

· Proven track record in fundraising, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.

· Experience in building and growing community fundraising income

· In-depth understanding of fundraising strategies, techniques, and best practices.

· Experience in developing and managing complex budgets including financial modelling and reforecasts.

· Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience in managing and motivating a team.

· Ability to analyse data and trends to inform fundraising decisions.

· Experience in building relationships with and multiple stakeholders.

· Knowledge of fundraising and marketing compliance

· Keeps up to date with sector and community fundraising trends and embeds these within their work.

· Experience in managing external agencies and working with internal creative teams.

· Experience in managing and coordinating fundraisers and volunteers

· Experience of Innovation within community fundraising.
