We have a newly created opportunity for a Test Team Leader to join our fantastic Technology team at RBL.

Based in our Product Engineering team, the new Test Team Leader will be responsible for defining and leading the quality approach across Agile product squads, ensuring that changes delivered into our technology estate are robust and reliable. It will provide clear leadership to Test Analysts, enabling consistent, high-quality testing practices and supporting the development of a strong, capability-driven test practice within the Technology team.

Reporting to our Head of Product Engineering, this role will work collaboratively with Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers and third parties ensureing that quality is embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle. It will champion continuous improvement, advocate for automation where it adds value and removes repetition and drives a culture in which every team member shares responsibility for delivering high-quality, low-risk change.

The successful applicant will have proven experience experience leading testing activity within Agile or hybrid delivery environments, ideally in a multi-product or multi-team technology organisation, alongside experience managing Test Analysts. They will be a excellent communicator, able to confidently lead and have the ability to influence, translating technical risk into clear business language.

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

The Role

What we're looking for

We are seeking an experienced applications professional with strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach. You will have experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support for enterprise systems, ideally including Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Customer Engagement) and the Power Platform. You will be confident troubleshooting incidents, carrying out root cause analysis, supporting integrations, and maintaining system performance and data integrity.

You will be comfortable configuring and enhancing applications to meet evolving business needs, supporting upgrades and releases, and contributing to continuous improvement. Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation and external suppliers. You will also have an understanding of information security, GDPR, and governance requirements, along with experience supporting project delivery, testing, and go-live activities.

You will have a varied role that combines operational support with improvement and project work, allowing you to make a visible impact on how the organisation operates. You will develop technical expertise, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and contribute to systems that support an important professional body and its members.

Data Analyst

About the role:

An established scientific membership organisation is seeking a Data Analyst to join a small, specialist data insights team working at the heart of evidence, insight and impact.
This role plays a key part in understanding the health of a scientific discipline and supporting strategic decision making through high quality data analysis, reporting and visualisation. You will work closely with technical colleagues and internal stakeholders to turn complex and sometimes messy data into clear, compelling insight that informs programmes, projects and policy activity.

This is a fixed term opportunity until 31 December 2026, ideally starting as soon as possible.

What you will be doing

• Working with internal and external datasets to extract, clean, analyse and interpret data
• Using Python for data extraction, cleaning and analysis, and Power BI to create clear, impactful dashboards and visualisations

• Producing reports and evidence to agreed timescales for expert and non expert audiences

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrable experience working with data and data structures
• Experience converting incomplete or unstructured information into usable datasets
• Experience presenting findings clearly to both technical and non technical audiences
• Experience measuring progress against project targets or success criteria
• Experience using data analysis and visualisation tools, including Python for analysis and Power BI for dashboarding, or equivalent tools

Experience of cloud based data storage or workflow automation tools is desirable.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Data Engineer to join our TED team and play an important role in building and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports the NIoT and TED.

The National Institute of Teaching (NIoT) has an unswerving commitment to high-quality, evidence-informed teacher education, and is on a mission to improve teacher and leader development across the education system.

A key part of that mission is our Teacher Education Dataset (TED), an ambitious data and research initiative focused on building better evidence about teacher development and what makes teaching impactful. By bringing together education, research and digital infrastructure, TED will support new insight into how teachers develop, improve and thrive across their careers.

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Data Engineer to join our TED team and play an important role in building and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports the NIoT and TED. Working at the intersection of data engineering, data and research, the postholder will help develop secure, reliable and scalable systems that enable robust analysis and contribute to high-quality, evidence-informed improvement across the sector.

Corporate responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Azure SQL databases and research-facing schemas across raw, transformed and curated data layers.

• Write efficient, secure and well-structured T-SQL to support ingestion, validation, transformation and optimisation.

• Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of a Common Data Model across multiple education data providers.

• Integrate and harmonise data from school MIS and EdTech platforms, including Bromcom, Arbor and Wonde.

• Build and maintain robust validation, logging, auditing and reconciliation processes to improve data quality and trust.

• Support secure data handling, including pseudonymisation, access control and compliance with data-sharing agreements and security requirements.

• Work closely with analysts, researchers, architects and partners to deliver scalable, analytics-ready data solutions.

• Contribute to agile planning, technical design, documentation and operational handover.

Essential criteria

• Proven experience in data engineering, including building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.

• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL Server.

• Strong T-SQL skills, including schema design, stored procedures and query optimisation.

• Experience implementing validation, monitoring, logging and reconciliation controls within data pipelines.

• Strong understanding of secure data architecture and the handling of sensitive personal data.

• Experience with Azure DevOps, version control and CI/CD practices.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively and work successfully in a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable criteria

• Experience with education datasets, school MIS systems or EdTech platforms.

• Experience with common data models, longitudinal datasets or research-oriented data infrastructure.

• Experience with Power BI, Fabric or related analytics technologies.

• Experience in a public sector, education or high-governance data environment.

• Interest in applying data engineering to improve education and teacher development.
