About the role

As Senior Caseworker, you will provide first and second-tier specialist advice and casework support on a range of welfare benefits issues. You will manage a caseload of complex cases and will take cases to the First-tier Tribunal. Issues we commonly advise on include PIP, LCWRA and Universal Credit.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a commitment to working with communities who are marginalised and underserved.

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented Operations Officer to play a central role in ensuring the smooth running of Animal Equality UK’s internal operations and supporter services.

This is a varied role covering administration, finance, data management, supporter care, and event coordination. You will be the first point of contact for many of our supporters and stakeholders, providing excellent service while supporting team members across all departments.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Supporter and donor care: Serve as the first point of contact for supporter queries via phone, email, post, and social media. What you will be doing:

Helpdesk and Building Management System (BMS) Usage 

• Use the Helpdesk system to monitor, input, respond and react to jobs logged.

• Utilise the BMS to control and adapt settings of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Identify and act on fault alerts within the system and identify the correct course of remedial action. 

• Be the main point of contact for any plant room issues. Take and record monthly utility readings. 

 Vehicles and Driving Duties 

• Safely drive the company minibus when required. 

• In accordance with the departments pre planned maintenance schedule, co-ordinate the MOTs, servicing, Road Fund License applications and tail lift services for the company vehicles. 

• Keep the pool vehicles and minibus in good condition to ensure roadworthiness. Record mileage, maintain logbook records. Prepare and maintain user guides for all company pool cars.

• Prepare Motability Foundation vehicles for end of lease return in a timely fashion and as to limit any penalties. 

• Receive in from suppliers and provide handover of hire vehicles and pool cars to staff including instructions on safe use and record damage, fuel levels etc. 

 Maintenance and Health and Safety Duties 

• Provide light maintenance as applicable.

• Ensure that all access and egress areas are kept clear and risk free.
• Provide retrieval, storage, and distribution of items to and from our storage locations.

• Ensure that all health and safety paperwork and logbooks are maintained.

• Conduct Health and Safety Walk Rounds for all new starters.

 Audio Visual and Technical Support  

• Be the first point of contact for any Audio-Visual queries, trouble shoot the system and resolve any issues.

• Design, arrange and deliver training for end users on how to use the equipment. 

Security and Disaster Recovery Duties 

• As required program the pass control cards for staff.

• Undertake the new starter and leaver process.

• Utilise the organisations CCTV system as appropriate in accordance with the security policy.

• Act as a key holder in the opening of the building daily.

• On a roster basis, act as a key holder for alarm activation call outs during the working week, out of hours and at weekends including public holidays.

About the role

We're looking for an Occupational Therapist who has experience in Complex Mental Health and Substance Misuse to join our residential service based in Croydon. You will use your skills and knowledge to support residents with mental health challenges, complex needs, and will provide specialist occupational therapy as part of their recovery. This is a great opportunity to shape your own role, alongside a team of Positive Engagement Workers, a Dual Diagnosis Worker, and Clinical Psychologist, whilst working closely with the Group Psychological Lead and other external partnerships. You will receive regular supervisions and have time with an external Occupational Therapist. 

You will:

• Deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills
• Be proactive with planning and delivering meaningful activities; this includes one to one and group sessions
• Work closely with clinical teams to meet people where they are, assess their situation, and write recommendations and signposting accordingly
• Assess their current situation through holistic assessments and put plans in place for them to overcome their personal barriers, to enable them for independent living and stability
• Provide psychologically informed interventions in a person-centred approach, flexibly to the resident needs
• Complete various assessments from function to task related to help empower enhanced community and personal engagement
• Set SMART goals in a collaborative way with residents, taking into account all information present from various team members and partner agencies.  

About you

We’re looking for a passionate, driven and qualified Occupational Therapist, registered with the HCPC who has experience working with people that have multiple complex needs. You’ll be confident applying theory to the practical working environment. We use a trauma informed, non judgmental approach, so it’s important that you can work well with others, fit into the team, and build trusting relationships. You will be able to apply your knowledge of relevant guidance and protocols to the working environment. You will have a background in a similar role, able to provide specialist support to our residents who struggle with their mental health and substance use.

• Ability to provide specialised occupational therapy assessment and treatment for residents/participants.
