Job description

Technical Project Assistant (Ref:  SUS2865)

£18,150 per annum

37.5 hours per week (part time hours negotiable)

two-month contract based in Edinburgh

This support role will assist the Scotland systems development and support team in improving the existing Project Portal mapping functionality, aiding the assessment of alternatives to the existing JavaScript based mapping API utilised, and adding additional layer functionality to the mapping on the systems web interface.

Either newly graduated or with a good standard of education, you will have experience of managing, interrogating and utilising databases and some experience of programming web interfaces using JavaScript. Familiarity with GIS related database fields types and GIS mapping objects will be beneficial. With strong administration, organisation, prioritisation and communications skills, you will be familiar with development packages (ideally MS Visual Studio), have a high level of IT literacy and an understanding of programme languages and best practice techniques.  You will also be committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.
