About the role:

At the Motability Foundation, we fund, support, research and innovate so that all disabled people can make the journeys they choose.  

We’re building a Transport Solutions Team that can work flexibly across all the tools in our delivery kit – from grants and innovation pilots to research, partnerships, and commercial interventions. This includes a growing portfolio of projects tackling key challenges like inclusive EV charging, complex community transport funding opportunities, and large-scale research such as the National Centre for Accessible Transport.  

We are now recruiting several Grant Managers to join this team and help us deliver our vision. This role works within a dedicated team to assess grant applications from charities and organisations applying to the Motability Foundation for grant-funding to support their work in the disability transport sector. 

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, purpose-led team driving change in the transport system for disabled people and to work on some of the most interesting and impactful projects in the sector. 

What you will be doing:

• Manage grant delivery, including assessment, due diligence, contracting, monitoring, and closure, across our funding rounds.  
• Engage with all levels of applicant and grantee organisations to understand their work, assess their proposals, and provide support and challenge to strengthen delivery and outcomes. 
• Undertake financial, reputational, governance, and operational due diligence in line with our policies and risk appetite. 
• Produce high quality assessments of applications for review by our grant panels, including award recommendations.
• Work with applicant organisations to develop and agree contractual grant agreements. 
• Manage and monitor multi-year grant awards to ensure objectives and KPIs are achieved within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Ensuring all of our data records are kept up-to-date including reconciling payment schedules to grant records. 
• Work closely with colleagues across the TST to provide insight from delivery into programme development, and to learn from others’ work across research, innovation and partnerships. 
• Staying abreast of key issues facing the disability and transport sectors, to understand how these shape and influence applications to Motability’s grant programmes. 
• Support delivery of non-traditional funding mechanisms such as challenge prizes, research calls, or commercial commissioning approaches, contributing to assessment and management. 

Your experience:

• Experienced in assessing, managing, monitoring and evaluating grant applications or similar roles related to charitable grant making. 
• Understanding of not-for-profit structures, including charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations. 
• Experience in writing a variety of styles including academic, reports, and impact.
• Demonstrable ability to prioritise when faced with a continuous flow of applications and variable work load.
• Experience of effectively engaging at all levels within applicant organisations leading discussions where necessary. 
• Good with numbers, and the ability to understand and interpret budgets and accounts.
• Able to engage with grant applicants and build an ongoing positive rapport. 
• Strong IT skills including experience working with the MS Office suite. 
• Experience within the disability sector and/or direct or indirect experience of the mobility challenges faced by disabled people would be advantageous, but not essential.

Join Dementia UK as a Challenge Events Manager where you will take the lead in delivering our DIY challenge events portfolio to grow our income in this area.

As part of the Mass Participation team, this is an exciting opportunity where we will look for you to develop the overall strategy for our DIY challenge events programmes. This covers all supporters who are taking on a sporting event through their own place. Overall purpose

The Data and Insights Manager will be a vital part of Breaking Barriers’ Data and Innovation Team, which has overall responsibility for Breaking Barriers’ data infrastructure and data analysis (relating to clients, programmes, fundraising, corporate partners and communications). They will oversee the gathering, processing, analysis and presentation of Breaking Barriers’ data, in order to ensure we are as evidence-based and effective an organisation as possible. The Data and Insights Manager will also take ownership of various projects to improve the organisation’s CRM (Salesforce) and its integration with other applications. In addition, they will support the Head of Data and Innovation with the management of the Data and Innovation Team’s working relationships with other teams and with coordinating the Data and Innovation team’s work.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in CRM management, ideally having worked as a Salesforce Administrator. They should possess a high level of data literacy, with knowledge of data analytics and visualisation. They should excel as a project manager and a communicator with a willingness to work collaboratively across teams. There is considerable scope for personal development in this role, with opportunities to shape the organisation’s future systems with a key emphasis on self-driven learning and development. Funding Policy and Practice Manager – Two permanent roles

The National Lottery Community Fund is seeking to build the capacity and capability of its Funding Policy and Practice team with several new Funding Policy and Practice Manager roles.

The Funding Policy and Practice Manager role is housed in the Funding Policy and Practice team within the Funding Strategy, Innovation and UK Directorate. The team is responsible for ensuring our Fund-wide funding policy and internal practice delivers our It Starts with Community strategy, enabling funding that makes the greatest possible difference to communities, whilst recognising the wider regulatory and strategic considerations associated with the distribution of public money.

Working with the Head of Funding Policy and Practice, you will play a key role in developing our Fund-wide funding policy and practice which supports five distinct funding portfolios: Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and the UK portfolio that spans the four countries.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our funding policies, which set the direction on who we fund and what we fund are fit for purpose. You will also support developing our funding mechanisms, the how we fund, and deliver some aspects of regulatory compliance such as our Funding Controls Framework. The practice aspect of the role will see you developing guidance and supporting funding teams to turn policy considerations into practical realities for our funding colleagues, customers and the wider civil society sector.

You will help to ensure that our funding policy and practice is “for everyone”: we’re looking for someone who recognises that our commitment to equity and fairness in our grant making flows through all we do.

You will have an eye for identifying internal and external insight that has the potential to inform our policy and practice direction. You will connect with internal colleagues and hold some external relationships, collaborating to formulate well-considered policies that are aligned with our strategic ambitions. You will work with teams across the Fund to ensure these policies are established and effective in practice. From time to time you may develop broader policy and practice positions that affect the whole of The Fund.

The right person for this role flourishes in complexity and relishes the challenges of finding the best path through overlapping and often competing agendas. The role

We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about education, social impact and wants to join Apps for Good’s mission in helping provide more young people with the tech and

innovation skills that will prepare them for the future of work.

In this new role, you will build strong relationships with teachers and Senior Leadership teams, in order to support them to embed our courses in their schools and across their Multi-Academy Trusts. You will work closely with the Senior Education Manager and existing Education Community Manager to build and implement recruitment and retention strategies, as well as being the first point of contact for educators.

If you have worked in education, or have experience supporting and building long-term relationships with schools and school leaders then we want to hear from you.

Our opportunity is part-time, which will suit someone looking to channel their energy and experience into purposeful work, alongside other commitments or interests.

Key responsibilities include: 

• Be the first point of contact for educators, providing a timely response to incoming enquiries.

• Manage and build quality relationships with our community of educators, with a focus on retention and engagement.

• Support our educators with course delivery, access to materials and resources, ensuring they are making the most of the course materials and feel confident to deliver our programmes.

• Help develop our ongoing strategy for building a community of educators across the UK.

• Represent Apps for Good to recruit educators via channel partners and events

• Support the wider Education team to gather, analyse, manage and report data

• Assist in the collection of data from educators to inform impact analysis and course development.

• Work with the wider team to deliver Industry Engagement opportunities to students participating in one of our courses

• Collaborate with the marketing team on key events including our annual Showcase and Career Series.

• Collaborate with the Senior Fundraising and Partnerships Manager to develop and deliver opportunities to connect funding partners with schools across the UK

Great candidates will have the following:

• Enthusiasm for Apps for Good’s mission

• At least two years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Working in a charity or organisation, building relationships with schools and education providers

  • Education community/Programme management within the education/charity sector

  • Teaching, leadership or operations within a school

• Confidence networking and engaging with stakeholders and education partners at all levels 

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across the team

• Willingness to undertake school visits across the UK.
