Salary: £42,000
Contract: 36 hours per week, fixed term (12 months initially, with potential to extend subject to funding)
Location: Home-based, with travel for meetings, collaboration, and partnership work. You’ll be expected to spend time in person with colleagues and partners across locations including London, Sutton Coldfield and Hull.

About the Role

Too many young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) face a sharp drop in support as they transition into adulthood. This role sits within an ambitious new programme, Ending the Cliff Edge, designed to change that.

As Partnerships and Best Practice Lead, you will play a central role in building a national, cross-sector alliance of young people, families, practitioners, organisations and service providers. Together, this alliance will drive meaningful reform and create better pathways into adulthood for disabled young people.

This is an opportunity to help shape a new initiative from the ground up—spreading best practice, testing innovative approaches, and building strong evidence of what works.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a broad collaborative partnership of cross‑sector organisations, providers, and experts to achieve collective ambition of driving improvement in transitions support.
• Refine, capture and share best‑practice models for supporting disabled young people into adulthood, ensuring they are evidence‑informed and accessible.
• Support partner organisations to design, adapt and deliver pilots that test innovative approaches and generate strong evidence of impact.
• Expand Kids’ national reach by growing the number of young people supported through improved transitions pathways, and increasing the number of businesses and providers engaged.
• Act as the central link between Kids’ direct delivery and wider national partners, ensuring learning is shared widely and consistently.
• Represent Kids externally as a champion for high‑quality transitions support, contributing to sector learning, collaboration and thought leadership.

About You

You are a confident relationship builder with experience of working across sectors and bringing people together around a shared goal. You’re comfortable working in a developing programme environment, able to take initiative, manage ambiguity, and turn ideas into action.

You are motivated by improving outcomes for disabled young people and have a strong understanding of the barriers they face.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience of partnership development and cross-sector collaboration
• Experience identifying and sharing best practice, and translating learning into practical resources
• Ability to coordinate and support pilot projects, including stakeholder engagement and evaluation
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across a wide range of stakeholders
• Strong understanding of challenges faced by disabled young people transitioning to adulthood
• Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences
• Experience supporting funder relationships and understanding funding environments

Duties and key responsibilities

Database Administration (Raiser’s Edge NXT)

• Manage, maintain and optimise constituent and gift data on Raiser’s Edge NXT to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support the Database Officer with processing incoming donations from online giving platforms including JustGiving and Fundraise Up to ensure accurate integration and reconciliation.
• Support the Database Officer with monthly reconciliations between Raiser’s Edge NXT and the income spreadsheet.
• Work with the Database Manager to develop and manage Omatic Cloud automated processes for importing constituent and gift data from external fundraising platforms.
• Support the Database Manager in designing and monitoring database KPIs.
• Lead data cleansing and housekeeping projects including data retention, consent and Gift Aid reviews identifying areas for improvement and implementation of best practice in collaboration with the Database Manager and Database Officer.
• Support fundraising stewardship through event management, automated workflows and mailing list coordination.
• Process and record Gift Aid declarations in accordance with HMRC guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, GDPR compliance and robust data controls.
• Administer user access and database security settings in line with internal policies and GDPR.

Data Reporting and Insights

• Build sophisticated donor segmentation, pipelines and automated journeys to improve donor retention and engagement.
• Deliver tailored reports, interactive dashboards and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Staff Training and Support

• Provide tailored team training, knowledge-sharing sessions, and guidance materials to help colleagues make the best use of Raiser’s Edge NXT.
• Manage data-related enquiries and provide timely support.

Cross Function Collaboration

• Work closely with the Database Officer to align on day-to-day data processing and support.
• Partner with the Finance Team on reconciliation and reporting.
• Collaborate with Fundraising, Communications, and Support Services teams to provide strategic database insights and technical guidance.

Other

Tactical Execution:

· Automation: Develop and implement automated email workflows to nurture leads, welcome new supporters and customers, re-engage lapsed donors, and drive conversions.

· Continuous Improvement: Explore opportunities to upgrade Dotdigital to enable more reactive marketing based on web traffic. 

· Knowledge Sharing: Share insights and best practices across ARUK, upskilling staff on effective email communication. 

· Supporter Focus: Continuously monitor and analyse supporter data to understand preferences, identify churn risks, and optimise the email experience for higher engagement and growth.

The Direct Marketing Lead is a newly formed role focused on planning, delivering and optimising integrated, data-driven campaigns across offline and digital channels to grow income from individual supporters—acquiring new donors, increasing the value of existing ones, and maximising return on investment.

You will take ownership of end-to-end direct response activity, using insight, segmentation and testing to improve performance, while managing budgets, suppliers and internal relationships to deliver effective campaigns that also build strong, long-term supporter relationships.

Role Summary:

• Plan and deliver direct marketing campaigns across a mix of channels, with a focus on bringing in income and growing the supporter base.
• Take campaigns from idea through to delivery, including shaping the messaging and making sure everything goes out on time and within budget.
• Keep a close eye on performance, using results and insight to tweak and improve what we do next time.
• Build and develop supporter journeys that help bring people in, keep them engaged and encourage longer-term support.
• Work closely with teams across the organisation, as well as external suppliers, to get campaigns out the door and keep things running smoothly.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Experience & Knowledge

• Proven track record of delivering integrated direct marketing campaigns, with particular strength in postal activity and full lifecycle ownership.
• Evidence of creating and evolving user journeys that drive stronger retention and deeper engagement.
• Confidence in data, including delivery of using CRM systems or databases to make data-led decision, select data, execute campaigns, generate reports, and extract actionable insights.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with external partners, including agencies, fulfilment providers, and other suppliers.
• Solid experience managing campaign budgets, tracking income and optimising return on investment.

This is a highly outward-facing role at the heart of the Foundation’s influencing work. The successful candidate will provide high-quality policy insight, research, and strategic support, helping the Foundation stay informed about the policy landscape affecting its priority areas, particularly young people, migration, education, arts and social justice. The role will also play an important part in strengthening partnerships, shaping advocacy activity, and supporting cross-foundation collaboration.

• Undertake horizon scanning and provide policy insight, analysis and briefings for senior leaders and trustees

The Role 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Policy and Public Affairs Manager to join our Research, Policy and Impact team. 

Supporting the Head of Cancer Insight, you will deliver, and keep under review the policy and public affairs strategy, including influencing at a local, regional, and national level, with the aim of helping the charity achieve its strategy and bringing benefit to the people of Yorkshire. You will have responsibility for the development of evidence-based policy reports and recommendations that can be used to influence a variety of audiences and project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns and events. As Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will also act as a source of expertise across the organisation and externally on key policy areas and the wider policy environment.

Specifically, you will: 

Influencing 

• Support the further development, refinement and delivery of the charity’s policy and public affairsstrategy and impact evaluation process, to support the wider delivert of the charity’s strategic aims. 

• Oversee the development of insightful written materials and reports to aid influencing. 

• Lead the charity’s response to regional and national consultations relevant to cancer in Yorkshire, making a robust and evidence-based case for the charity’s position.

• Oversee the continued growth of the charity’s political monitoring work and ensure the effective pursuit of every opportunity offered. 

• Engage with regional and national decision makers to influence policy-making for the benefit of people in Yorkshire and beyond. 

• Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across Yorkshire and beyond (such as DHSC, NHSE, Integrated Care Boards, Cancer Alliances, national policy groups, and other charities, to influence change based on policy recommendations.

• Evaluate the impact of policy and public affairs activity, with delivery of clear examples of external influencing.

Policy development 

• Ensure the continued development of the policy production and dissemination process, including the policy development pathway, internal/external dissemination and impact evaluation. 

• Lead the research, production and dissemination of high quality, evidence-based cancer-related policies and the strategic development of key policy recommendations. 

• Oversee regular updates of existing policies and position statements, ensuring they are in line with the latest evidence. 

• Ensure external insight is built into policies and policy development, such as gaining views from the Patient and Public Involvement Community, the inclusion of external patient and public contributors and endorsements from clinical and academic experts. 

• Oversee work with relevant internal teams to create key messages for a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring these are in line with the latest evidence and are used correctly, and provide expert commentary on media stories. 

• Act as a source of expertise on the charity’s cancer-related policies and position statements, both internally and externally. Undertake media interviews as required to communicate key messages with the public.

Campaigns and Events 

• Project manage the development, delivery and evaluation of public affairs campaigns, in collaboration with the Brand and Relationships team where relevant, manage relationships with third parties to support campaign delivery where required. 

• Lead the outreach and delivery of influencing events, including visits to charity-funded projects and party conference activity. 

• Further develop and deliver a strategy for growing and maintaining a handraiser supporter base, to enhance campaigns activity. 

 
About You 

To be considered for this role, you will need: 

• To have a degree, preferably in a relevant subject area, for example public policy, public health, scientific, medical etc. 

• To have significantl experience of writing influencing materials such as briefings, letters, blogs, campaign materials.

• To have substantial experience supporting the implementation of high impact public affairs strategies that are designed to influence.

• To have experience of evaluating campaigns and assessing the impact of policy and public affairs activities. 

• To have excellent public affairs experience including understanding of local, regional and national government, the current health policy landscape as well as knowledge of UK parliamentary processes along with a proven track-record of engaging politically to make change happen.

• To have substantial experience of developing evidence-based policies for a health focused organisation.

• To have substantial experience of communicating health policy positions to a variety of audiences including for influencing purposes.

• To have a good understanding of the health care system in England. 

• To be a strategic thinker with strong analytical, judgement and decision-making skills.

• To be able to sift out the essential elements from a mass of complex information, integrate and synthesise ideas, and present information to others in an accessible way.

• To have a pro-active and creative approach to policy work with an ability to identify and use external opportunities and a desire to succeed.

• To have excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills with the ability to interpret complex information and communicate this to a range of audiences so it is clear and accessible.

About the roles 

These are new roles focused on bringing lived experience into everyday inpatient care.This is a pilot project, hence the one-year contract term. 

You will work alongside ward teams to support recovery focused and therapeutic activity. The role is about being present on the ward, building relationships, and contributing to a positive and engaging environment for patients. 

You will use your lived experience appropriately to support hope, participation and recovery, while working within clear professional boundaries.

Hours and contracts

We are recruiting a small team of Lived Experience Recovery Workers to work across inpatient settings in West Sussex. 

Contracts will be offered flexibly, likely across 4 to 5 roles, with a mix of full time and part time hours. 

All roles will be place based, working within a single inpatient setting. There is no requirement to travel between sites. 

We welcome applications from people looking to work between 3 and 5 days per week. 

Final hours and working patterns will be agreed based on service needs and the strengths of the successful applicants. Our aim is to build a balanced team that provides consistent ward based presence across all sites.

• Supporting structured recovery and wellbeing activities on the ward

• Working alongside Occupational Therapists and ward staff to co deliver sessions

• Building rapport through consistent, everyday interactions

• Contributing to a visible and reliable presence within daily ward life

• Supporting and sharing patient feedback and insight to support service improvement

• Working as part of the multidisciplinary team
