Hospital Carer Navigator – Airedale General Hospital
30hrs per week permanent position ( Monday to Friday)
Occasional weekend work may be required

As a Carer Navigator you will identify and address the needs of unpaid carers whilst the person they care for is in hospital. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting carers through listening, advising, and advocating for them in the hospital setting, liaising closely with health and social care staff in the hospital. You will be working alongside hospital and social care staff to improve patient flow and support a timely and positive experience of hospital discharge.
Additionally, you’ll engage in outreach work to promote our services.
This role offers a unique opportunity to positively impact carers’ lives while collaborating with local partners and working within a dedicated team. Your efforts will contribute to building a supportive community and fostering awareness about the crucial role of carers in society.
You will be based at Airedale General Hospital, with some working from our Shipley office. It is a requirement of the role to work Monday-Friday. There may be some occasional weekend working.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Developing and leading business planning processes and activities
- Leading our annual and multi-year business planning processes, ensuring strong alignment to our 2030 strategy and strategic pillars.
- Designing and managing planning tools, timelines, and guidance to support joined-up planning across The Charity’s departments.
- Aligning strategic planning with budget and resource planning in partnership with the Director of Finance and IT and the Director of People and Culture.
- Working closely with the Director of Finance and IT, and the wider leadership team, to drive alignment between strategy, delivery, and performance.
- Championing a collaborative and inclusive approach to planning, building understanding and engagement across the Charity.
- Representing planning and performance leadership at key forums, including SLT and Extended Leadership Team meetings, and at Board subcommittees where required.
Performance monitoring and reporting
- Designing, implementing and embedding our performance monitoring and reporting frameworks, including dashboards, KPIs and narrative reporting for SLT and Board.
- Identifying and escalating performance trends and/or risks, highlighting these in order to partner with teams on continuous improvement
- Driving the use of data and insight in organisational planning and decision-making processes, including embedding processes to support equity and inclusion e.g. EDI impact assessments.
- Building capacity and planning capability across The Charity to support sustainable processes and ways of working, and to support continuous improvement.
- Working closely with leaders to ensure planning, change and performance are aligned, and with particular emphasis on Finance, Strategy and External Affairs, and People and Culture.
Programme and project planning
- Developing and communicating frameworks to support how programmes and projects are monitored and measured, in alignment with our strategy impact framework led by the Strategy & External Affairs team.
- Support programme planning and monitoring capability across The Charity through coaching and advisory support to teams and leaders and through procuring and/or sharing supporting tools and guidance for this purpose
Leading governance, risk management and business continuity
- Strategic oversight of governance, including overseeing Board and subcommittee reporting, documentation, regulatory and legal compliance.
- Overseeing the Charity’s corporate risk register, embedding risk awareness and mitigation planning across The Charity.
- Leading the development of our Business Continuity Planning (BCP) approach, including associated guidance, communication and learning.
- Acting as a trusted partner to SLT and Heads of Teams on performance, risk, and governance.

The panel executive is a main point of contact for disabled panellists and carries out a range of essential administrative tasks to ensure research projects run smoothly on the Lived Experience Research Panel.
The role
The Lived Experience Research Panel (LERP) is a platform for the voices of disabled people and parents or carers of disabled children to be heard. This role informs panellists about current research projects. It tells them what the projects entail. It invites those who fit the brief to take part. They also process day to day queries panellists might have.
About you
To be successful in this role we are are looking for someone who has:
· GCSE level English Language and Maths, or an acceptable equivalent qualification,
· Some direct experience of being involved in market research or insight,
· Good knowledge of Mircosoft suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint,
· Experience of working in a team environment under pressure,
· Experience of managing projects to timelines.
The following would be an advantage to have.
· Degree level qualification, with a focus on research methodology.
· Some lived experience of disability.
· Experience of working with research panels.

The Role
As Global Head of Finance, you will lead a small, dedicated international team, overseeing strategic financial planning, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance across UK and US entities.
You’ll play a key role on the Fund’s management team, ensuring financial integrity, promoting sustainable growth, and partnering across functions to embed strong financial practices organisation-wide.
This is both a strategic and hands-on role, offering the opportunity to guide long-term financial direction while staying closely connected to day-to-day operations and people.
Duties include, but aren’t limited to:
- Financial planning, reporting and strategy: managing annual budget cycle, produce monthly, quarterly and annual finance reports.
- Compliance, Audit and Risk Management: Oversee annual audits for both US and UK entities, support compliance checks and procurement systems meet organisational and donor requirements.
- Investment, Treasury and External Relations: Monitor and management investment and cash accounts across both the US and UK – optimising returns. Managing external banking, investment and lease negotiations, managing annual vendor negotiations and renewals globally.
- Systems optimisation and process improvement.
- Team leadership: Lead and support the finance team, reviewing outputs, resolving issues to support high performance. Oversee financial training to all budget holders to maintain financial literacy and accountability across the organisation.
Essential experience
The successful candidate will possess blends of technical financial expertise with operational leadership with a continuous commitment to purpose-driven work. You will have:
- Professional financial qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on the launch of a new RG proposition and ensure that the onboarding and onward journey is fit for purpose.
- Look for opportunities to thank our donors and communicate impact at key moments.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure we grow our Regular Giving file, through acquisition as well as retention.
- Manage a variety of individual giving fundraising campaigns, from agency briefing, through to launch, meeting six figure campaign targets.

- Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations.
- Work with the Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.
- Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews.
- Manage donor research and mystery shopping as required, using insights to inform creative decisions.
- Manage campaign fulfilment. Monitor responses to identify issues and opportunities.

The Senior Fundraiser for Trusts and Foundations will be our lead fundraiser, drawing in support and expertise from across the team. We are a highly impactful organisation that is often looked to for our insight in the sector. Fundraising

Line-manage our Fundraising Officer and work together to generate income to meet CARAS’s budgetary targets through trusts and foundations, individual giving, community fundraising and other means at our disposal.

Develop and deliver a fundraising strategy which synchronises with the CARAS Strategic Plan.

Research and maintain a real-time pipeline of fundraising opportunities and oversee delivery. Lead or allocate all income generation opportunities in good time so that appropriate co-design and decision-making processes are behind applications.

Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in CARAS’s database.

Ensure compliance with best practice in fundraising including use of data and confidentiality.

Venn Group are delighted to be partnered with a large international Charity to support with the recruitment of a Financial Accountant. The role will be supporting with producing statutory accounts for certain large entities, as well as being a key point of contact during external audit.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Assist in the preparation of audited financial statements for two major subsidiaries
- Complete the consolidation of subsidiary entities into the relevant group financial statements
- Prepare statutory accounts for smaller entities for review by senior finance colleagues
- Submit statutory returns, including those for tax and national statistics authorities, and support fundraising and grant teams with financial data derived from statutory accounts
- Collaborate with senior finance leadership to support strategic initiatives aimed at streamlining financial processes, reducing errors, and improving data-driven decision-making
- Lead a project to automate and integrate statutory account preparation using linked Excel and Word documents, ensuring real-time updates and maintaining template functionality
- Reconcile a range of control accounts on a monthly basis and resolve outstanding items in coordination with cross-functional finance teams
- Act as a key contact for external auditors, attend senior-level audit meetings, process adjustments, and implement recommended improvements
- Partner with management accounting and regional teams to align reporting processes and agree on accounting treatments for key balances such as debtors and accruals
- Develop insight into property reporting and funding, and its alignment with statutory reporting—particularly regarding reserves and contingent liabilities
- Support the preparation of key board and audit committee papers, including going concern assessments in collaboration with senior finance leadership
- Ensure compliance with year-end procedures and produce balance sheet reconciliations and supporting notes for audit purposes
- Serve as a principal liaison for external audits relating to both major trusts, providing assistance and documentation as required
Ideal candidate profile:
- Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Experience in planning and preparing statutory accounts and disclosure notes
- Good understanding of Charity SORP and FRS 102
- Advanced IT skills to enable complex manipulation and interpretation of financial data
- A deep understanding of accounting concepts with proven experience of dealing with external auditors
