About the role

Research has shown that there is significant potential for new and existing wealth holders to use their resources to fund climate action, and demand for trusted advisors to accelerate both the pace and efficacy of philanthropy. The Impatience Earth team has a track record of delivering quality philanthropy advisory for climate action, and with a growing team we have the capacity to take on new clients.

As the Philanthropy Catalyst Lead, you will be instrumental in building a strong pipeline of clients who would benefit from our climate advisory services. You are someone who is comfortable connecting with and engaging wealth holders, such as high-net worth individuals, family foundations and corporate foundations that have the potential to commit substantial resources (£200k+ year) to climate action. 

These clients may be based in the UK or Europe (as reflects the majority of our client base so far) although you will also work with colleagues engaged in catalysing philanthropy in other regions of the world. 

You will report directly to the Co-CEO, but also work closely with other members of the team and partners such as the Environmental Funders Network (EFN) to grow climate philanthropy. This is not a fundraising role for Impatience Earth: the primary focus will be to further develop and hone our business development strategy; to find, qualify and cultivate prospects; and to support the delivery of advisory services as needed once prospects are converted into clients. 

About Impatience Earth

Impatience Earth is a non-profit climate philanthropy consultancy founded in 2020 with a mission to educate, challenge and inspire wealth holders to take bolder funding decisions to address the climate emergency. 

Since 2020, our engagement with over 40 philanthropic foundations and businesses has supported them to make over £250m of new funding available for climate action, and we have already helped them make grants to over 200 different organisations. A great deal of these clients have come from word of mouth and from within our team’s existing connections, and we are now looking to expand our reach beyond our own network. 

We have ambitious plans to unlock greater funding for intersectional climate justice work, with bespoke advisory for new climate funders continuing to be a core pillar of our 2026-2030 strategic plan. 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

• Further developing our business development strategy. This would include:

  • Reviewing and assessing previous and existing business development activities, and prioritising actions 

  • Identifying key target audiences and referral partners

  • Proposing realistic and stretch targets for our business development activities

  • Developing concise and effective communications for our target audience, for example, by crafting compelling outreach emails

• Researching, qualifying and engaging with prospective clients. This would include: 

  • Using your past experience of engaging wealth holders to suggest new business development or prospect research ideas

  • Reviewing funder databases for leads and relevant information 

  • Initiating a new (simple!) system of tracking client leads from identification to conversion

  • Arranging and joining scoping conversations with potential clients 

  • Identifying events and spaces to engage with prospective clients

• Initiating and managing key relationships. This would include:

  • Stewarding prospective clients who are not yet ready to engage with our services 

  • Re-engaging and managing strong relationships with key referral partners and intermediaries, such as EFN, private banks, wealth advisors, family offices and other philanthropy advisors

  • Representing Impatience Earth externally at meetings and events to meet our business development objectives 

• Working closely with colleagues to integrate business development across programmes. This would include:

  • Working with Impatience Earth colleagues who lead our Strategic Communications, Global South and International Partnerships work to guide and support their activities around business development 

  • General support and advice to strengthen all staff members’ business development knowledge and skills 

• Support client delivery. As and when you convert prospects into clients, we may need you to support client leads with delivery. This might include arranging and facilitating expert meetings and strategy sessions.

What we’re looking for

• At least 3 years previous experience of working in major gift fundraising, trust and foundation fundraising, private wealth advisory, or similar that gives you insight and knowledge into the philanthropic landscape, HNWIs, and the networks and ecosystem in which they operate

• Someone who enjoys engaging with philanthropists in-person and at events, and comfortable having interesting but sometimes challenging conversations 

• A proven track record of converting leads into confirmed high value clients (or funders) at the 6- or 7-figure level and managing successful relationships with them

• Strong research skills, including ability to use datasets and access information to find and qualify prospects

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A self starter who is able to think both creatively and strategically about business development; able to work independently but also as part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team

• Confidence engaging with different types of stakeholders, especially high net worth individuals, and the emotional intelligence and social skills to build genuine, trusted relationships

• A good understanding of the role of philanthropy in the context of social, economic and climate injustices 

• Committed to tackling the climate crisis with a good grasp of its causes and solutions - though our team will provide training if you have not worked in a climate-focused role before

• Commitment to anti-oppression and social justice

• Have developed or contributed to the development of a successful fundraising or business development strategy

About the Role

EDIS is a coalition of organisations working to improve equality, diversity and inclusion within the science and health research sectors. Originally established by The Francis Crick Institute (The Crick), Wellcome Trust (Wellcome) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the British Science Association (BSA) has recently taken over the hosting of the coalition (from February 2026), working in partnership with the Crick, and funded by a seven-year grant from Wellcome.

The new Head of EDIS will provide strategic leadership for the EDIS programme, positioning EDIS as a trusted, influential voice and source of sector support on equity, diversity and inclusion across science and health research.

EDIS is a long-term programme with national reach. The Head of EDIS will be responsible for shaping and implementing the EDIS strategy in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring activities are valued by members and aligned with the coalition’s values and objectives and contributing to the long-term sustainability and evolution of the programme beyond the grant period. The role holder will lead a dedicated team, cultivate a culture of inclusivity, and champion the impact of EDIS across and beyond the coalition, ultimately supporting the advancement of equitable practices and opportunities in science and health.

Key responsibilities

Develop and deliver the EDIS strategy

• Review and update the EDIS strategy, working with key stakeholders, including developing an implementation plan, KPIs and a theory of change.
• Lead on engagement with EDIS members and prospective members, the EDIS Advisory Group, and senior external stakeholders including funders, policy makers and national bodies to shape and deliver the EDIS strategy.
• Oversee delivery of the EDIS strategy, reporting on progress and collecting, using and sharing evidence, evaluation and learning to shape priorities, activities and outputs.

Recruit, lead, support and champion the EDIS team

• Recruit the ‘core’ EDIS team, with direct line management responsibilities for the EDIS Programme Manager and EDIS Community Manager.
• Develop a strong, collaborative team culture for EDIS, reflecting the values of the BSA and of EDIS, and inspiring the team to develop and contribute to the programme and strategy.
• Champion the work of EDIS across the BSA and more widely.

Develop and deliver EDIS activities

• Network and build strong relationships with EDIS members and prospective members.
• Support and work with the EDIS team to deliver the ‘embedding EDI’ workstream of the EDIS Strategy, and to provide overall co-ordination on the delivery of the other workstreams (Inclusive Research and Inclusive Leadership), including the development of shared definitions, principles, frameworks and practical guidance for the sector.
• Provide strategic oversight of EDIS activities, working closely with the BSA Grants (Community Engagement) team and our partners at the Crick.
• Act as a senior advocate and spokesperson for EDIS, working closely with the Policy & Public Affairs team to influence policy and practice and to position EDIS as a credible, evidence-led voice on EDI.

Support the EDIS membership

• Consult and collaborate with the EDIS members, and prospective members, to ensure that their views are listened and responded to.
• Steward current and prospective EDIS members, ensuring there is a vibrant, engaged community and membership offer. This may require regular travel, particularly to London.
• Lead on the sharing of insights and updates to EDIS members on key developments and updates.
• Work closely with Head of Fundraising and Membership to grow the EDIS membership, and to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of EDIS.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of developing and delivering EDI strategies and Experience in leading a significant project, programme or discrete area, setting strategy, and influencing stakeholders towards its aims and objectives.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Trusts and Grants Fundraiser to support the work of the Breck Foundation on a freelance basis.

This role is offered for approximately two days per week, providing flexibility alongside the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the development of our fundraising function.

About You

Role purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the National Programme Team with the implementation of operational plans that deliver successful national skills competitions. Summary of terms and conditions

The latest research suggests that 2.7 million children are at risk of hunger, meaning one in five children don’t have enough to eat. When a child is too hungry to learn, they struggle to concentrate, absorb information, and manage their emotions, causing them to fall behind in their studies. 

Magic Breakfast provides a nutritious breakfast to over 350,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target children most in need without barrier or stigma.

In response to a challenging funding landscape, and to seize on the opportunities ahead, we have recently brought together our Philanthropy and Trusts teams into a unified Major Giving function, enabling us to build deep, values-driven relationships with high-value supporters.  

The Major Giving Lead – Individual Donors will play a pivotal role in this new function, leading all relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and ensuring exceptional donor care and engagement. Reporting to the Head of Major Giving, this role is a senior, strategic position crucial to driving the organisation’s fundraising growth and deliver against our mission. 

JOB PURPOSE   

The Major Giving Lead – Individual Donors is a senior, strategic role within Magic Breakfast’s unified Major Giving function, acting as the organisation’s expert on philanthropy. This role will lead and manage relationships with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), ensuring exceptional donor care, long-term engagement, and the growth of transformational gifts.  

Working closely with the Head of Major Giving, the Major Giving Lead will help develop and embed a cohesive Major Giving strategy, fostering strong synergies across the Major Giving team. In partnership with the other Major Giving Lead (Trust & Foundations) this role will create unified stewardship programmes, prospect development strategies, and engagement opportunities, ensuring a seamless and compelling experience for donors across all major giving streams. It will also work closely with the Business Development Manager (Scotland) to ensure effective ways of working across devolved nations and to unlock opportunities for HNWI in Scotland.  

This is a high-impact, leadership-focused role for a proactive, strategic, and relationship-driven individual, capable of influencing key stakeholders, shaping organisational approaches to major giving, and driving the growth of Magic Breakfast’s mission to end child morning hunger across the UK.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:    

Leadership and team collaboration  

• Act as the senior lead and subject matter expert for HNWI relationships across the organisation.  

• Work closely with the Head of Major Giving and Major Giving Lead – Trust & Foundations to develop and embed a cohesive Major Giving strategy, fostering strong synergies between Major Individual Donors and Trusts, with a clear link to synergies in other teams.   

• Support the Head of Major Giving and Trust & other Major Giving Lead in mentoring and guiding other members of the Major Giving Team.  

• Provide leadership, insights and expertise across the wider organisation to support the delivery of our new organisational goals, including through contributions to the sub-goal working groups and other enabling strategies.   

• Collaborate within the fundraising, and across other, departments to deliver cross-organisational initiatives, events and campaigns, championing opportunities to unlock HNWI giving.    

• Scan the external environment for trends, insights, ideas and best practice that could benefit the Major Giving team and Magic Breakfast’s work, making recommendations for improvements and leading on opportunities as they arise.  

• Work in close partnership with the Business Development Manager (Scotland) to ensure joined-up approaches to HNWI opportunities in Scotland, sharing expertise, aligning stewardship, and enabling effective cross-team working.  

• Flex to provide support across the Major Giving team where necessary, responding and supporting shared team-wide objectives and any trust and foundations work if required. 

Income generation, donor stewardship and prospect development   

• With support from the Head of Major Giving, deliver the 25/26 individual giving income target of c£800k by personally managing a portfolio of new and existing major donors and family foundations, with a focus on securing, renewing and uplifting gifts above £50k+ .   

• In partnership with other teams and departments, develop, test and roll out new data-driven approaches to target and reach new HNWI and other major giving audiences.  

• Work with our Prospect Researcher Manager to identify and execute opportunities to grow our prospect pool, including from across other teams, and to facilitate personal introductions and meetings with yourself or other Magic Breakfast employees/ volunteers – providing relevant briefings where appropriate.  

• Support and collaborate with the Business Development Manager (Scotland) where shared funder relationships or new opportunities arise.  

• Develop and implement tailored cultivation and solicitation strategies for new and existing HNWIs, leveraging and building relationships within and across Magic Breakfast networks’ to support our fundraising objectives.  

• Support, and where required lead, on the delivery of cross-organisational projects including any major giving campaigns, collaborating closely with colleagues across the organisation, including Brand & Marketing, and other relevant teams, to project manage effectively and ensure activity is informed by insights and organisational expertise, and delivers against its KPIs with a strong return on investment.  

• Maintain a strong knowledge of the organisation strategy, business plan and opportunities for innovation and ‘value-add’, to identify and build accurate and inspiring giving propositions, wish lists and a persuasive case for support  

• Ensure exceptional relationship management and donor reporting, with high-quality donor care and stewardship techniques that speak to the motivations and interests of our donors, exploring ways to build our donor community – such as through giving circles.  

• Work with colleagues across the Major Giving and other income generation teams to design and deliver a calendar of bespoke engagement opportunities, events and experiences for donors and prospects, ensuring high-quality execution and timely reviews.  

• Champion innovation in donor journeys, engagement campaigns, and communications to maximize supporter impact and retention, ensuring everyone is aligned behind clear, measurable goals and delivers with purpose and consistency.

• Work with the Head of Individual Giving and Engagement to establish a clear mid-level giving programme and to ensure opportunities and leads are recognised and developed where possible and that there is a high-level of stewardship.

Financial Processes, Reporting, and Due Diligence  

• Support the Head of Major Giving to conduct effective annual planning and budgeting, setting, measuring and reporting against agreed KPIs and utilising data and insights to inform decisions and future planning.   

• Support the Head of Major Giving to prepare phased budgets and reforecasts, identifying and recognising opportunities and risks to income in line with activity plans and progress.  

• Ensure all HNWI income and activity is reconciled and recorded on Magic Breakfast database systems (Salesforce) with relevant supporting documents, including gift aid and gift instruments in place.  

• Work with finance and performance and relevant business leads to manage programme budgets and restrictions.  

• As requested, provide regular reports and updates to the Head of Major Giving, Director of Fundraising & Development and other stakeholders as required.    

General   

• Maintain strong communication and alignment with the Business Development Manager (Scotland), ensuring funder and donor activity is coordinated and opportunities are maximised across nations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION   

Knowledge and Experience    

• Experience generating income and developing a sustainable pipeline of revenue from high-net-worth individuals.

Is this the right position for you?

We’re looking for a Head of Communications & Marketing to advance greater public understanding of humanism by reaching new and growing audiences. The role also comes with strategic responsibility for improving brand awareness and driving sales for key products and brands, including Humanist Ceremonies (non-religious weddings, funerals, and naming ceremonies), the award-winning New Humanist magazine (est. 1885), podcasts, books, and a nationwide programme of prestige events and festivals.

This is a senior role with real scope. You will lead our communications team across print, digital, events, and marketing, and make sure what we put out is clear, compelling, consistent, and rooted in our purpose. As well as marketing, this role has responsibility for content, including for our website and social media channels, making sure these are updated with high-quality, accessible, engaging, and well-optimised educational and brand-building materials pitched at a range of target audiences.

This role is about leadership as much as delivery. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a clear organisational communications grid, and for working closely with colleagues across the organisation, particularly the Head of Press & Campaign Communications and the Head of Fundraising, to make sure our messaging, brand, and tone are joined up and effective.

You will be at your best when working to ambitious but achievable KPIs and making strategic decisions on the basis of evidence, including open and clickthrough rates, A/B testing, site behaviour and visit numbers, sales conversions, surveys, and feedback.

If you don't have experience at this level already you will need to be able to showcase to us – both at interview, and in your application – that you have significant experience of decision-making for communications or marketing in a complex organisation. You’ll also need to convince us of your ability to balance leading on strategy with hands-on problem-solving. You’ll be comfortable setting priorities, making judgement calls, and giving clear direction to your direct reports, while also collaborating well across departments and supporting less experienced staff to do their best work. We’re looking for someone who can think long-term, but who also cares about the details and the day-to-day reality of getting communications right.

Chief Impact Officer (International Human Rights/Modern Slavery Charity)

The Opportunity

This executive role will shape and scale programme strategy, champion innovation, and ensure delivery remains survivor-centred, rights-based and grounded in evidence. Working closely with the CEO and senior colleagues, you will strengthen impact, influence systemic change, build a learning culture through MEAL-driven insight, and support sustainable programmatic funding across an international portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Lead global programme strategy and innovation, aligning delivery to the organisation’s long-term framework and theory of change.

Oversee development and quality of programmes across the Global North and Global South, including partnership and new product development.

Strengthen MEAL capacity, data consistency and digitisation, using insights to drive quality, learning and continuous improvement.

Provide executive oversight of operational procedures, safeguarding, due diligence, governance and programmatic risk management.

Lead the global Policy and Research agenda; build relationships and represent the organisation in relevant forums and platforms.

Oversee global learning and training functions, developing prevention/awareness and internal/external training products.

Accountability for programme budgets and funding needs; support grants, reporting and donor engagement alongside fundraising colleagues.

Embed survivor-empowering approaches across programmes, policy, learning and external engagement.

The Candidate

Significant senior leadership experience within an international organisation, with a strong track record of scaling impact.

Strong experience of international programme leadership, including remote/multi-cultural teams and complex operating environments.

Expertise in MEAL and using data, research and learning agendas to improve programme quality and strategic decision-making.

Proven ability to influence policy and advocacy, including oversight/commissioning of research and engagement with senior stakeholders.

Strong financial and operational acumen, including budget oversight and managing grants from a programmatic perspective (compliance and reporting).

Confident communicator at Board and external senior stakeholder level; strong written and verbal skills, including public speaking.

Experience leading through risk and crisis management, with a diplomatic and collaborative approach.

Highly desirable: sector experience in modern slavery/human trafficking or closely aligned human rights fields.

The Legal Counsel role will be joining a Legal team consisting of one senior lawyer and one paralegal, who are responsible for the management of all legal, regulatory and compliance matters relating to the Fondation’s operations across over 60 countries worldwide.

We are looking for an energetic lawyer to join our dynamic team, where you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and meaningful work as part of an innovative and ambitious growing organisation.

The Legal Counsel’s principal role will be to support the Managing Counsel with compliance and governance matters as well as the legal support for grant making activities globally. The role will lead (with the support of the paralegal) on the drafting and negotiation all grant agreements and commercial contracts for each of the regions.

This is a role that blends social justice purpose with corporate foundation rigour—supporting the Fondation teams delivering its mission in compliance with all relevant laws and best practice.

What you will bring

· A minimum of 2 years’ experience drafting and reviewing contracts. Experience working in a not-for-profit environment on grant management contracts and administration is preferable but not essential.

· Proven project management, time management, and organisation skills, with an ability to manage competing priorities across global teams.

· Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all aspects of contract management, documentation, and communication.

· An ability to quickly identify areas for improvement and make impactful changes, employing a test and learn approach

· A collaborative approach, adept at engaging stakeholders across all levels, quickly facilitating buy in and support

· Deep integrity, respect for confidentiality and discretion.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Working knowledge of French or other languages, welcome and useful but not required.
