Job description

Property Manager x 1 (Full time, Maternity Cover – 6 Months Fixed Term Contract), Twickenham

About Us

We are SPEAR, a small dynamic and unique charity dedicated to helping homeless people in South and West London find secure accommodation and work towards a positive future.

For over 30 years, we’ve worked tirelessly to support homeless people to recover from their personal issues and break down the barriers that they face. We recognise that homelessness is much more than just a housing issue, so we provide a range of accommodation and support services to help people reach their full potential. One of the ways we achieve this is through a constant focus on improvement - thinking creatively about ways to deliver great value for our commissioned services. We are a small charity with a big ambition, putting our customers at the heart of what we do.

We’re now looking for a Property Manager to join us on a full-time basis. Please note that this role is a Maternity Cover for 6 months fixed term contract.

The Benefits

- Salary of £45,000 per annum

- 26 days’ holiday pro rata (increasing with service)

- Access to a free Employee Assistance Programme

- A range of benefits including cycle to work scheme and staff wellbeing sessions

This is a superb opportunity for an individual with drive, focus and a desire to work with our outstanding charity to help us to combat homelessness. You’ll discover a passionate, supportive environment where the entire team are working toward the same goals and are dedicated to making positive change and producing great results.

The Role

Joining us at an exciting time of change you’ll have plenty of opportunity to test and develop your expertise. In this role you will manage SPEAR’s rented and owned property portfolio, support its development and ensure it is maintained through robust planning and budget management. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining housing management and facilities management policies and procedures, (including property related Health & Safety and fire safety procedures, tenancy sign up, warnings and evictions) – in line with emerging legislation and best practice.

About You:

Most likely from a public sector or charity background - you’ll have broad range Property Management experience: possibly in the homelessness sector. You will have excellent team-building, decision making, project management and networking skills. You will have experience of working to processes and systems to achieve continuous improvement across your service remit. The ability to build positive and rewarding relationships and influence is essential to this role.

What We Offer:

If you’re as productive as you are ambitious and collaborative as you are enterprising, this is your chance to take real ownership of your work, and work within a highly impactful community-based service delivering rewarding life changes to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. This is a unique place where it all happens. And where it could all happen for you. As a progressive and innovative organisation, we welcome applications from candidates keen to work in an agile environment with flexible conditions.

For further and more detailed information on the role and person specification, please review the Job Description.

SPEAR are an equal opportunities employer, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment. Equal opportunities are the only acceptable way to conduct business and we believe that the more inclusive our environments are, the better our work will be.

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone, regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. We are facing diverse problems, so need diverse people to tackle them.

So, if you’re seeking your next challenge as a Property Manager at Spear, please apply via the button shown. This vacancy is being advertised by Webrecruit. The services advertised by Webrecruit are those of an Employment Agency.
