Hours: Monday to Friday. Generally no weekends or evenings, though there may be times client support needs or appointments mean these hours will be required.

Must be a driver with own car for use in role as travel is an essential part - we cannot offer interviews to non-drivers. As such, must have business insurance for use of own vehicle during working hours. Mileage will be paid for client and support related travel.

Experience working with challenging behaviour, mental health support, substance misuse or trauma beneficial. Understanding of entrenched behaviours and intensive support needs beneficial alongside tenancy management and benefits awareness.

Awareness of Housing First principles would be desirable

Our company supports individuals aged 16 and over, who have high support needs and a history of entrenched or repeat homelessness, to have a home of their own where they can regain stability, safety, and support. We work in partnership with the council and various housing association to deliver intensive person-centred support and accommodation choices.

Our priority is to find safe, permanent housing that’s suitable for the client. Once housing is found our dedicated team provides intensive one to one support to enable clients to maintain their accommodation and achieve their goals.

JOB PURPOSE

· To be part of a team that supports our clients, by providing intensive wrap around support, keeping them safe and helping them to achieve their goals.

· To provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

· To assess the needs of each client, helping to develop their personalised support plan and safety plan to achieve their goals. These are kept under regular review

· To manage a personal caseload of clients who require intensive support on a one-to-one basis

· Providing assertive outreach for those that are rough sleeping to build a trusting relationship, which will require a flexible approach to engagement techniques.

· To provide practical support when a client moves into a property such as setting up utilities, sourcing furniture, developing their domestic skills and accessing services in the community

· To mediate and negotiate with housing providers to secure accommodation and prevent homelessness when applicable

· To engage with local authorities, health providers and other agencies, creating and maintaining working relationships to maximise the opportunities available to clients

· To liaise with colleges, training agencies, employers to help clients gain access to education, find work or maintain their benefit entitlement 

· To lead on client activities to help them gain practical life skills

· To support clients by providing advice on housing, welfare benefits, rent deposits and household goods via a variety of schemes

· To support clients to understand harm reduction approaches to keep them safe and well

· To carry out housing management duties such as collecting service charges at various locations 

· To support clients in trauma informed and psychologically informed ways 

· To adhere to safeguarding responsibilities, following our safeguarding policy and procedure 

· To help maintain health and safety, ensuring clients, visitors and buildings are safe in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, policy and procedures 

· To provide basic first aid assistance until help arrives (full training is provided) 

· To work confidently and efficiently when lone working

· To maintain accurate records on our client management system and ensure these are stored in line with GDPR 

· To maintain confidentiality

· To represent the organisation in a professional manner

· Any other reasonable duties required in the interest of the organisation 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

· This role will require an Enhanced with Barred List(s) disclosure and barring service check is a requirement for this role. This would be completed on appointment of the role.

· This role will require a full drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle

· This role will require you to work flexibly across several sites and in the community

· This role will require you to work with clients on a one-to-one basis

· This role will require you to lone work

· This role will require you to support people sleeping rough

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA 

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

· Clear verbal and written English 

· Good keyboard skills for data inputting

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word

· Confident and assertive manner

· Ability to self-motivate as you will have some instances of lone working

· Effective team working  

· Ability to respond calmly to crisis

· Deal promptly with and effectively react to challenging situations

· Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues

DESIRABLE CRITERIA 

· Experience of managing a caseload of clients

· Understanding of the complex support needs of people experiencing homelessness or those with complex needs

· Knowledge of Safeguarding practices

· Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies, housing regulations and the benefits system

· Understanding of risk assessment and person-centred, outcomes-based delivery

To provide appropriate emotional and practical support to women in the sex industry and/or those who are being sexually exploited with a specific focus on those who are homeless and experiencing domestic violence and abuse. The women we support require intensive practical and emotional support as well as support navigating health and other social care or criminal justice systems. The women will have poor mental or physical health, experience with homelessness and of the criminal justice system, are often victims of sexual and/or domestic abuse and many are homeless. This post specifically will include a focus on domestic violence, sexual exploitation, sexual violence and housing. Working within a harm reduction ethos prioritising women’s safety and wellbeing, the intensive personalized supported will help women to access other services making appropriate referrals for women who wish to make changes, including exiting/transitioning out of sex work. You will be responsible for ensuring that women with varying needs are supported effectively throughout their pathway of support with Basis and partners, advocating for and with the women you are working with including where necessary challenging stigma and judgement women face.

Job Title: Night Recovery Worker

Location: Romford -  Unfortunately there is no step free access available at this service. 

Salary: £28,800 

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota between Monday to Sunday 20:00 - 09.30. You may be required to work outside these hours as per service requirements such as bank holidays and evenings. 

About the Role

We're looking for a Night Support Worker to join our night team in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our male residents and participants into the community. In this role, you will provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to enable successful resettlement. You will also collaborate with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes.

Our Complex Needs Accommodation provides supported accommodation, bespoke person-centred care and support as well as intensive housing management services in the community for adults with specific accommodation and well-being support needs. You will ensure the smooth running of the night service by conducting welfare checks, supporting residents, and handling any issues that arise. The role includes completing administrative tasks and providing thorough handovers with day staff and managers to maintain consistent service.

Some key responsibilities include: 

• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and participants at all times
• Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities
• Building trusting professional relationships with residents, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations which could be through tailored one to one sessions, group sessions, in and out of service activities, and general wellbeing check ins
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for night colleagues for a seamless service

Job Title: Night Engagement Worker 

Location: This role is based in Redbridge. The service is a short walk from Gants Hill Underground Station. The area is also served by multiple bus routes, including 114, 121, 128, 150, and 272, offering direct local and regional connections for staff commuting to the service. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £28,800

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday 20:30 - 08:30. You may also be required to work outside these hours as per service and resident requirements, which includes weekends and bank holidays which form part of your rota

About the Role

We’re looking for a Night Engagement Worker to join the team in Redbridge. You will support within the Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation to support in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our residents and participants back into the community. The service delivers support for people in the criminal justice system who are deemed high risk, and likely to meet criteria for personality disorder. Penrose OPD HASS service offers specialist accommodation to people with high risk/high needs and require intensive support to overcome barriers to resettlement and progress towards independent living in the community.

You will assist with those who have recently been released from prison, secure health settings, or are transitioning from Approved Premises. Your role will involve supporting all aspects of key engagement activities, aiding their rehabilitation, reablement, and reintegration into society by providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions, that will enable successful resettlements and work with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Support residents who may be facing challenges with substance misuse, helping them take positive steps forward.
• Creating one to one person centred support plans to support residents in achieving their goals.
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times during the shift, including regular check ins and carrying our protocols.
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities during the evening which may include movie nights and games nights.
• Lone working is part of the role, but you’ll always have a supportive team around.
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service.

About You

We're looking for someone who shares our passion for supporting people who may be deemed as having a personality disorder and have been referred to us by the criminal justice service. Our residents are at the forefront of our service delivery, so building trusting and professional relationships is key. You’ll be adaptable, proactive, and confident using your initiative to resolve challenges, and keep the night service running smoothly. Teamwork is essential and having previous knowledge of the needs our residents may have. Each support plan is tailored to the individual, so you'll help deliver care that truly meets their needs.

• Understanding of Personality Disorder and the Criminal Justice System
• Experience in working with people of different backgrounds which may be complex.
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Comfortable working with people who have different types of histories of behaviours which have led to in-prison sentencing.
• Awareness of external opportunities which are available such as with education, employment and benefits
• Organised and proactive in managing tasks like welfare checks, safeguarding, and accurate record keeping
• Confidence in identifying when someone may be struggling with their mental or physical health, substance use, or other challenges, and knowing how to respond
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience
• Cultural awareness, Self-awareness, and ability to identify personal growth areas and take feedback
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
• Ability to motivate and empower others to reach personal goals and overcome barriers to independence
