MSDP is a charity with a long history, with roots traced back to 1864, making them one of the oldest d/Deaf charities in the country. Communities are central to MSDP’s services and as a result, the charity are an important part of the d/Deaf and hard of hearing community in Merseyside. MSDP are devoted to helping Deaf, Deaf-Blind and Hard of Hearing people achieve a full, active and influencing role in mainstream society.

The Head of Services is a senior role that plays a vital part in shaping and delivering MSDP’s mission. You will help lead the day-to-day delivery of services, ensuring they are effective, inclusive, and high-quality. Working alongside Service Managers, you’ll coordinate projects and contracts to meet the needs of the people and communities MSDP serves. You’ll help ensure services are delivered with integrity, impact, and compassion.

Key responsibilities

• Operational Leadership and Service Delivery: Oversee the effective day-to-day running of services, ensuring compliance, quality outcomes, confidentiality, and accurate record-keeping.
• People and Performance Management: Supervise and support Service Managers and teams, set performance standards, promote staff development, and ensure safe and effective recruitment practices.
• Project, Contract and Financial Oversight: Lead project delivery and contract management, monitor risks, support tender submissions, and manage budgets and resources in line with strategic and contractual priorities.
• Data, Reporting and Strategic Insight: Analyse and present key performance data to support service improvement and inform decision-making and prepare high-quality reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Legal, Risk and Safeguarding Compliance: Ensure robust safeguarding practices, manage operational risks, and uphold legal, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements across all service areas.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in managing operational services in health, social care or charity sectors, with strong project management and delivery experience. You will also have a strong track record in staff supervision and team leadership with excellent leadership and team motivation skills. You will understand safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection (DPA, GDPR) with knowledge of service performance frameworks and contract compliance. A strong communicator, you will be able to create reports and presentations and be able to analyse data and derive insights. You will have budget and resource management skills with strong planning, organisational and risk management experience. You will be able to work independently and manage time effectively with a flexible, adaptable and problem-solving attitude. You will be committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion and to the values and mission of the organisation. A willingness to learn British Sign Language (BSL), if not already proficient, is essential.

You may have experience working with or in Deaf or disability services and familiarity with Deaf culture and BSL. The ideal candidate would have experience in tender writing and funding applications, experience of contract management and reporting to commissioners and funders, and knowledge of adult social care commissioning, but these are desirable criteria. A willingness to learn British Sign Language (BSL) if not already proficient is essential.

Being part of the MSDP team is hugely rewarding, and what makes MSDP different is their culture and specialisms. Most of the staff team are Deaf and they have frontline staff who are able to communicate in British Sign Language and Deaf-Blind Manual/Hands on. New staff will benefit from learning about deafness, the inequalities that exist in access to mainstream services and the impact of those barriers on our beneficiaries. Meetings are fully accessible so we welcome people from across the d/Deaf and hearing communities to apply. To perform this role, you’ll need the following experience:

• At least 10 years of experience leading evidence generation in global health. Experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) is preferred, but not required.
• Proven expertise in managing complex modelling projects, including multi-sectoral impact evaluations in low-resource and development settings.
• Recognised thought leadership, with a strong track record of disseminating evidence—ranging from peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations to leading webinars and technical panels.
• Demonstrated ability to engage senior and diverse stakeholders, including facilitating insight-generation sessions and steering model development.
• Experienced team leader, with a background in managing high-performing data, analytics, and insight teams to deliver quality outputs under pressure.
• Strong experience in donor engagement and managing high-value projects, including strategic planning, budgeting, reporting, and delivering results.
• A track record of working effectively across cultures and geographies, providing technical support and research guidance in complex international contexts.

Formal education/qualification

• Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Demography, Health Economics, or a related field.

We are excited to be recruiting a part-time role for an Operations Manager in our dynamic voluntary sector adolescent mental health service.

Open Door is a young people’s mental health charity that has been based in Haringey, North London for 49 years. It aims to improve mental health and life-chances of young people. We provide an ‘Open Door’ to free, high quality psychological therapy to 12–24-year-olds delivered by experienced and highly trained clinicians. We also support parents and carers, struggling with the issues their children face. We aim for access to be simple and over half of those we support, self-refer. Many young people who come to us have significant mental health difficulties and have faced barriers to services. Open Door delivers evidence informed practice and has been commended for our ambitious approach to outcome driven care.

The role

CGL’s Business Development Team is a large national team. This role will sit within a smaller specialist services sub-team, who have responsibility for retaining existing specialist contracts and winning new business opportunities.

This new fixed-term role will be responsible for leading all business development activities related to the upcoming national Commissioned Rehabilitative Services (CRS) opportunity.

You will work collaboratively with operational and central support colleagues to: develop service delivery models; form national, local, and regional partnerships; lead budgeting; and manage the writing of multiple concurrent tenders.

You will have the opportunity to visit and engage with our staff and service users across the country to learn about our services and specific local needs and challenges.

Ultimately you will play a key role in the design, development and delivery of our services and will help us to deliver on our organisational mission, strategy and values.

About you

You’ll be an experienced manager and leader, with a proven track record in securing and retaining contracts and leading and managing complex tenders in the criminal justice field or services closely aligned to criminal justice. 

You’ll be a confined and highly competent communicator and have proven experiencing of developing national and local partnerships.

You’ll be an excellent writer, with experience of writing tenders, bids and proposals for national procurement processes.

You will have excellent IT skills, be highly numerate and be able to analyse and work with complex data and financial information.

The Finance & Governance team handle all matters concerning Diocesan and Cathedral finance including the administration and collection of parish share, paying invoices and expenses, budgeting, annual statutory, management accounts, clergy stipends, staff salaries, advice to parishes on parochial finance matters. 

This role covers the full range of work in an accounting system dealing with input to and output from all ledgers with specific responsibility for the administration of parish shares and fees including the issuing of regular statements to parishes. The purpose is to ensure that the accounting system has accurate and timely financial data which is available to those who require it either for decision-making or for external reports and accounts.

The National Archives are a non-ministerial department, and the official archive and publisher for the UK Government, and for England and Wales. We are the guardians of over 1,000 years of iconic national documents.

Operating within the Management Accounting team, the postholder will act as a Senior Management Accountant for the business area for which they are made responsible. Working directly with budget holders, Heads of Department and Directors, they will manage all aspects of their management accounting and financial planning services providing incisive, value-add financial support and analysis which facilitates effective decision making.

The role:

• Be responsible for the provision of timely, accurate, relevant management information to all levels of management within assigned Directorates, regularly reviewing this information with the senior management teams. This will include provision of monthly reports, critical review of results, value-add analysis, explanation of variances and early identification of potential issues / opportunities.
• Be responsible for providing analysis that informs and supports effective decision making.
• Apply various tools such as investment appraisal techniques to better inform decision making.
• Support the business in gathering evidence to assess the costs, benefits and risks of a wide range of delivery options when making commercial decisions, and provide advice which helps secure value-for-money.
• Build strong and positive relationships with budget holders and senior managers (notably Heads of Departments), providing the necessary assistance and professional advice to assist them with the financial aspects of their duties.
• Proactively provide improvements to procedures, applying sound judgement based on knowledge and experience.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a fully qualified Accountant.
• Have strong analytical skills, able to identify and interpret trends and improve financial forecasting.
• Have the ability to understand the strategic business goals of an organisation, able to ‘look beyond the numbers’ and understand the wider business context.
• Be a team player, with exceptional interpersonal skills, able to work with a diverse and broad range of stakeholders across the organisation. Demonstrable ability to influence.
• Have good written and oral communication skills, able to communicate clearly, concisely, accurately and in ways that promote understanding but challenge when needed.
• Have strong finance system skills including advanced Excel skills.

This position will be based officially at the head office in Kew and will require the postholder to work from the office three days a week.

• Optimise and create supporter journeys to increase propensity to give and drive loyalty and consideration among legacy and individual giving prospects
• Responsible for aligning legacy acquisition and retention marketing to the individual giving programme, to maximise uptake and engagement. In conjunction with their manager, work together to develop new ideas and best practices to improve the number of legacy pledges and the income from In Memory fundraising to increase annual gift amounts
• Achieve income targets that support the delivery of fundraising goals aimed at delivering in excess of £3m+ per annum
• Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and evaluate multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, and social media, to maximize giving. Keep track of results and flag under or over performance in a timely manner
