We are looking for an exceptional Communications and Campaigns Officer to develop, support and deliver communications and campaigns work at Universities Wales.
Universities Wales represents the interests of universities in Wales and is a National Council of Universities UK. Working with the Head of External Affairs and Policy, this role will work to increase the reach and impact of Universities Wales’ work, helping deliver Universities Wales’ mission to support a university education system which transforms lives through the work Welsh universities do with the people and places of Wales and the wider world.

This post requires an individual looking for a challenging role, who is ready to take on this exciting and varied opportunity within Elrha’s busy and ambitious Research for Health in Humanitarian Crises (R2HC) team. You will need to have experience of managing grant relationships, ideally in a humanitarian or research setting. Inspired by Elrha’s mission and values, you will:
- Manage relationships within the R2HC portfolio of research grants, analyse and review narrative and financial reports, and communicate sensitively to provide feedback to our grantees
- Contribute to the delivery of R2HC’s support package for grantees, enabling them to manage project risks and identify routes to achieve impact
- Support the delivery of R2HC’s calls for proposals, managing relationships with our independent Funding Committee and expert reviewers to ensure applications are rigorously and fairly reviewed
- Synthesise research outputs to make findings accessible to multiple audiences, and support the development of external communications regarding the R2HC programme
- Collect data and conduct analysis to help demonstrate and articulate the impact of the R2HC programme on humanitarian outcomes.

They are the national membership body for voluntary organisations in Wales. Their purpose is to enable voluntary organisations to make a bigger difference together.

About you:

- Experience of collaborating with a range of external organisations and internal colleagues to strengthen policy positions
- Excellent communication skills, including adapting to voluntary organisations, government, public bodies, politicians and internal colleagues to maximise impact
- Management of people, projects and budgets, including demonstrating impact
- An understanding of the voluntary sector as well as legislative, policy and social context in Wales
Although not essential Welsh language skills would be an asset to this post, as would relevant professional qualifications.
