Age UK is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join the Finance & Corporate Services division on a maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic hybrid opportunity where you can play a key role in our financial control environment, whilst supporting work that makes a real difference to older people across the UK.

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will work alongside another SFA, supporting the Head of Financial Control and CFO to deliver accurate financial reporting and maintain strong controls across the Group and subsidiaries.

We are ideally seeking a candidate that is available for an immediate start in this hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities

Statutory Accounts & Reporting
* Prepare statutory accounts for key subsidiaries and contribute to Group accounts.
* Lead on Group SOFA and cashflow.
* Act as a main point of contact for external auditors.

Controls & Month-End
* Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly and address variances proactively.
* Manage intercompany balances, pension accounting, investments, and consolidation.

Tax (VAT & CT)
* Ensure VAT returns align with the Group's partial exemption method.
* Support VAT queries and liaise with HMRC.
* Prepare corporation tax computations and work with external advisers.

Additional Contributions
* Provide data for investment committees and reserves reporting.
* Support implementation of new accounting standards (SORP/FRS 102).
* Contribute to new finance system implementation.

About MAAC

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) funds and delivers a pre-hospital emergency helicopter-led service across the Midlands region (serving six counties). The Opportunity

As MAAC prepares for the planned departure of its current postholder, the organisation is seeking an exceptional Director of Finance to join the Executive Team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the Finance Director is a key member of the Charity’s Leadership Team, providing strategic financial direction across the Group (the parent charity and its trading subsidiary). This role ensures the organisation remains financially resilient, well‑governed, and strongly positioned to deliver its mission for the long term – through working collaboratively with the Chief Executive, Leadership Team and Board members.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Play a key role as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), contributing to organisational strategy and fostering strong cross‑department collaboration.  Work collaboratively with the Chief Executive and SLT to develop and maintain the three-year strategic plan, ensuring financial projections, assumptions, and scenario planning are based on accurate data and sound forecasting.
• Provide strategic financial leadership that supports long‑term sustainability, future growth, and the delivery of critical services.
• Build strong, transparent, and trusting relationships with Board members by delivering clear, relevant financial reporting and assurance (supporting Board members to carry out their governance responsibilities effectively).  Manage the Audit and Risk Committee’s activities in conjunction with the Committee Chair
• Lead a high‑quality financial management function for the Charity and its subsidiary, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, governance requirements and accounting standards.

About You

You will be a professionally qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with substantial senior‑level experience and the credibility to operate confidently at Board level. Most importantly, you will embody strong values, show high emotional intelligence, and be genuinely motivated to contribute to MAAC’s mission. Charity sector experience is essential -  with a thorough understanding of what it takes to promote financial best practice, control spend and assist with income generation in sizable Not-for-Profit environments. About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Leading and supporting a newly formed but high performing team, you’ll oversee new business development, high value corporate partnerships and outstanding stewardship of our supporters. CoppaFeel! has experienced a period of exceptional financial growth, increasing income from £1.6m to £7m in 5 years, driven in large part by the success of our partnership with Asda. The Fundraising Director will provide bold, strategic leadership to shape the next phase of CoppaFeel!’s growth, evolving our fundraising model, reducing reliance on any single income stream and ensuring long term sustainability. This role is about setting vision, unlocking opportunity and embedding fundraising as a strategic, organisation wide function. While oversight of day to day fundraising performance remains important, this role is fundamentally future focused building resilience and driving innovation.

This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in our offices based in London Bridge. This role sits within our Senior Management Team and reports into the CEO.

Duties and responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership

• Work as part of the CoppaFeel! SMT shaping the organisational strategy, culture and cross departmental ways of working
• Set and lead an ambitious, multi year fundraising vision aligned to CoppaFeel!’s organisational strategy and impact goals
• Develop and support the Fundraising Team in the delivery of the fundraising strategy to ensure long term sustainability and maximum impact
• Provide strong, clear and consistent leadership through a period of growth, transformation and increasing complexity
• Champion innovation, testing and learning across all fundraising streams to unlock new opportunities and audiences
• Work collaboratively across all departments to ensure that fundraising is integrated across the organisation and aligned with our organisational delivery

Governance

• Work closely with the SMT to develop strategic recommendations for the Board of Trustees and support effective governance
• Development of the 3 year budget, including regular reforecasting and longer term projections to inform investment and growth decisions
• Analyse and monitor the ROI of across all income streams, using insight to drive decision making! 
• Take on fundraising related governance responsibilities, including attendance at Finance Committee meetings and contributing to the annual report.
• Provide confident, strategic leadership on financial risk, opportunity and sustainability

Fundraising

• Drive the delivery of CoppaFeel!'s growth strategy, including achieving fundraising targets across multiple fundraising streams
• Develop new strategies and adapt existing ones in response to external trends, audience insight and organisational priorities
• Support the Asda partnership at a strategic level, ensuring income is stewarded effectively and impact is clearly reported
• Oversee and empower the Department Heads in the implementation and optimitisation of the fundraising strategy
• Lead the diversification of income, reducing reliance on any single partner or activity and building a resilient, balanced fundraising portfolio Identify and develop fundraising opportunities that are accessible, inclusive and engaging for 18–24-year-olds and priority audiences

Sector representation

• Act as a visible ambassador for CoppaFeel! within the fundraising sector
• Build CoppaFeel!’s fundraising credibility through conference speaking, thought leadership, award entries and sector engagement

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has been creating life-changing partnerships between hearing dogs and deaf recipients since 1982. The Faith and Public Life Department is responsible for the national-level engagement of the Church of England with public policy, ethics and political life, relations with other churches and faith communities and theological support for the Church's concerns. The team is formally responsible to the Archbishops' Council (i.e. to the national Church as an institution) and also gives direct support to the ministries of the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, and to those of the 26 bishops who sit in the House of Lords.

It is a broad remit, which reflects the breadth of the Church's mission and relationships across the whole country; and the way the Department operates needs to reflect the breadth of the Church also. The Department manages a number of projects which enhance the Church of England's ability to drive social change - current projects include: a Social Impact Investment programme, the support of disabled people in the church; and helping support dioceses and parishes to develop land for housing. The sub-teams who lead on the above work are supported by a dedicated administration and support team.

As the Director, your role will be to ensure that the team's work serves the Church's mission, and to give strategic leadership to a diverse team of highly skilled and experienced staff, liaising closely with the Church's governance structures (e.g. the Archbishops' Council and relevant committees, the Archbishops and other bishops) and other departments of the National Church Institutions. The Department has come together from different backgrounds over the last four years, you will continue the work of building the team carrying on the work of the late Dr Richard Sudworth, who sadly died in December 2025.

You will not be expected to be an expert in every aspect of the Department's work but will bring depth and wisdom to back up the expertise of your staff team. A good grounding in public and/or political theology and understanding of civil society would be a helpful background to supporting the most fast-moving areas of the team's work. You will have scope to take the lead in aspects of the work within FPL's remit, especially where you bring specific experience and expertise.

You will be a full member of the Archbishops' Council's Senior Management Group (SMG) and the Archbishop of Canterbury's Senior Advisory Group. You will report to the Secretary General and will line manage the lead staff of the various FPL sub teams.

You will play a part in reflecting upon and shaping wider policy across the Church, introducing learning and perspectives from the FPL team and ensuring that the FPL team has an appropriate understanding of the wider Church context of its work.

The FPL team is based in Lambeth Palace, but team members may be required to work at times at Church House, Westminster and other locations. The Director could be based at Lambeth Palace, or at Bishopthorpe Palace near York. You will be required to attend meetings in various parts of the country, such as the General Synod (in London and York), the House and College of Bishops and the Archbishops' Council which meet at a variety of locations, and to be visible in dioceses from time to time. The Director will need to work mostly alongside the team and those it supports, though a degree of home working and remote working is possible. The emphasis is on flexibility and working collaboratively with others.
