• Delivering support to people who are experiencing homelessness and are rough sleeping in the borough of Tower Hamlets.

Small grants for essential items and cash payments for food in emergencies. Securing and distributing gifts in kind, e.g. winter coats, laptops and data. 

• Allotment of Refuge - a welcoming community of food growers that supports improved health, wellbeing and integration of members, whilst protecting the local environment. 

• Immigration Project in partnership with Southwark Law Centre, providing free legal advice and representation to support people to regularise their immigration status. 

We also use our frontline experience, together with our clients, to engage in Policy and influencing work to improve the services and policies that impact our client group. This includes advising the GLA on 3 asylum related working groups, and as a member of the London Housing Panel.

Main duties

Fundraising CRM Project Leadership

• Lead the end-to-end project to replace the current CRM system, including an audit of existing data, research into CRM options, supplier selection and full onboarding and implementation.
• Manage and maintain the current Salesforce system during the review period, ensuring it remains functional, accurate, and fit for purpose while supporting the transition process.

The Operations Manager is a key role within the team, ensuring the effective and efficient management of the SLG’s three sites: the Main Gallery, the Fire Station and Art Block. This includes managing the maintenance and upkeep of the SLG’s Grade II listed buildings and artist-designed gardens, as well as leading the Front of House team to ensure that the SLG provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors and a high quality of visitor experience. 

The Operations Manager works closely with the Deputy Director and manages a team comprising two Operations Supervisors, the Gallery Technician and contracted and casual Front of House staff and Cleaners. ​​​​​​The Youth Violence Intervention Practitioner role is to be part of the youth work team within Redthread with a primary focus on youth violence interventions in a health care setting. In this role you will be part of the Youth Violence Intervention Programme team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. You will support young people aged, 11-25 years old, who present to hospital following an incident of violence of for whom them there are concerns around exploitation or extra-familial farm. You will work with the young person in the hospital as well as supporting them post discharge to ensure they have the support in place that they need and want. Other tasks include: 

• Hold a caseload and work with young people in a range of settings, including in A&E and on the wards, in the community, in face-to-face and group contexts, and promote their personal, educational, health and social development through all interactions.
• Assist with the on-going development of the service model to ensure that clients gain the maximum benefit from Redthread’s interventions.
• Ensure information resources such as client forms, databases and contact files are kept fully up-to-date and secure, in line with GDPR, the Data Protection Act and our Confidentiality Policy and Consent Policy. Maintain high quality recording of interventions with young people on our database, Threads, in line with Redthread’s best-practice requirements. (Training will be provided.)
• Collect and record evidence of project outcomes and young people’s achievements, to ensure the completion of monitoring forms and project progress reports as required.

As we approach our 80th anniversary we have ambitious plans to scale up our activities and are looking for an experienced Fundraising Officer with strong storytelling skills and a passion for making a difference.

This is a permanent part-time role, two days a week. The successful candidate will join a thriving organisation as part of a small Programme team under the leadership of the Programme Director.

We are seeking to appoint a strong team player who can also work independently, who is well-organised, with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. They must be able to demonstrate success in fund-raising, and have strong knowledge of the fund-raising landscape in the UK, and preferably internationally. A background of funding raising for education or youth sector organisations would also be desirable.

Alignment with our ethos of addressing social challenges through constructive dialogue is essential.

It is expected that this role can be primarily carried out from home, but attendance one day a month in the offices in Windsor Great Park would be required.

Job description

Objective: To generate income that supports Cumberland Lodge’s mission by identifying, researching, and securing funding from trusts, foundations, and grant-giving bodies. The Programme Fundraising Officer will craft compelling proposals, develop new income opportunities, and align funder interests with Cumberland Lodge’s goals to enable impactful work with young people and the creation of more just and inclusive societies.

Salary: £14,000 (£35,000 FTE)

Main Duties:

Funding Development

Research and identify funding opportunities aligned with Cumberland Lodge programmes.

· Write compelling, youth and/or education focused funding applications and proposals.

· Track and manage applications, deadlines, budgets and outcomes.

Relationship Management

· Build and maintain strong relationships with funders.

· Provide timely updates, reports, and impact stories.

· Represent Cumberland Lodge at meetings, events, and networking opportunities.

 Strategy & Performance

· Contribute to Cumberland Lodge fundraising strategy and income targets.

· Collaborate with the Programme Director to monitor fundraising performance.

· Produce data-driven reports on donor engagement and fund-raising effectiveness for the

Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees.

Compliance & Data

· Maintain accurate, GDPR-compliant donor records.

· Stay informed on fundraising legislation and best practices.

Internal Collaboration

· Work with programme and communications teams to gather data and case studies when required for reporting to Senior Management Team, Trustees, and to develop the annual Impact Report.

· Support the Leadership Team with strategic funding advice.

General

· Participate in relevant training and development identified in conjunction with Line

Manager.

· To attend and participate in weekly team meetings.

· Promote in a positive way the work of Cumberland Lodge.

Person specification

You will be able to demonstrate the following criteria:

Essential Criteria:

· A track record of securing five-figure grants or more from trusts, foundations and other donors;

· Knowledge of the fundraising landscape in the UK;

· Excellent communications skills, verbal and written, for a range of audiences, including creative storytelling and project framing;

· Ability to analyse and synthesise research and data into compelling reports and funding applications;

· Ability to develop full cost recovery budgets and carry out all compliant financial reporting;

· Ability to carry out all grant management reporting accurately and in a timely manner, with knowledge of GDPR-compliant data management;

· Ability to work independently, being proactive, organised and results-driven, while maintaining an ethos of collaboration and teamwork;

· Excellent time-keeping and ability to meet deadlines;

· Experience using a range of IT packages and platforms.

Desirable Criteria:

· Experience working with young people, youth organisations or in the education sector;

· Knowledge of the fundraising landscape internationally;

· Experience using social media for marketing and communication.

Further information

Hours: 14 hours per week (through an annualised hours working pattern).

Location: Remote working although the successful candidate will be expected to work from Cumberland Lodge a minimum of one day per month.  Applicants should be aware that Cumberland Lodge is not easily accessible by public transport, so alternative forms of transport (bicycle, car) are helpful.

Annual leave: 33 days including Bank Holidays which will be pro-rata. The charity is closed over the Christmas period which will be deducted from the leave allocation.

Pension: Standard Life contributory pension (up to 10% contributions to support 5% personal contributions, with the option to increase personal contributions over and above 5%).

The Team

Part of the Philanthropy Team, comprised of individuals focused on major giving, prospect research and trusts and foundations. In addition, the role will work closely with the corporate partnerships team and community and events team.

Overall Purpose of the Role
 

The Senior Prospect Research Manager will lead the Prospect Research function at the Foundation, with support and direction from the Head of Philanthropy.  
 

You will be accountable for the ongoing development and delivery of the Prospect Research strategy, BE involved in and oversight of other policies and processes related to our pipeline growth and development, involving due diligence, gift acceptance protocols, database management and business planning.  
 

The Prospect Research function will be made up of this role and one Prospect Research Manager, who will report into you. Together, you will ensure that quality prospects are identified, researched and allocated to portfolios in collaboration with the high value fundraising teams. You will lead on our approach to prospect analytics, using data to evaluate fundraiser and programme performance, spot trends and opportunities and improve the efficiency of the team’s activity.

Our fundraising department has recently entered a period of ambitious growth and will shortly be launching a significant capital campaign for our children’s hospital.

This is an incredibly exciting time to join as our Senior Prospect Research Manager, and the right candidate would have significant scope and autonomy to shape this role and our future Prospect Research strategy.

Working Environment:

• Work in a hybrid hot desk environment, generally working 2 days a week in the London office and three from home.  
• Be responsible for the input and maintenance of databases and files relevant to the post requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the ongoing development and delivery of the prospect research strategy to generate prospects for identified priorities and to strengthen gaps in the prospect pipeline.  
• Implement the prospect research strategy, alongside the Prospect Research Manager, ensuring that prospect identification targets are met, and team members invest regular time in working with key stakeholders to develop prospects.  
• Line manages one Prospect Research Manager, as part of leadership of the Prospect Research Function, ensuring collective objectives are met 
• Lead on the prospect research and development strategy for a significant capital campaign, which will involve increasing the volume and capacity of our pipeline. This role will drive forward this campaign prospecting strategy, alongside high value fundraisers, the Head of Philanthropy and the Director of Fundraising. Prospecting approaches will include desk research, network mapping of Trustees and other senior stakeholders, and engaging Campaign Board connections.  
• Work alongside our Legal team to implement and oversee our Due Diligence policies and processes.  
• Oversee the regular data mining of Raiser’s Edge to identify opportunities from amongst our warmest constituents.  
• Work closely with fundraising leads to develop the prospect pipeline, in particular building our networks of advocates and influencers. This will include attending meetings with clinicians and other key stakeholders. Qualify and allocate prospects identified by the team.  
• Proactively engage with market intelligence which supports the identification of prospects and philanthropic trends, and highlights opportunities for future fundraising growth. This would include regular assessment of insight on transformational donations made worldwide, high net worth individuals and philanthropic trends.  
• Undertake strategy research which supports decision making relating to fundraising. This may include competitor analysis and feasibility work.
• Advocate best practice in the recording and processing of prospect data on Raiser’s Edge, ensuring data is accurate, relevant and processed as per the team’s Data Protection Policy and in line with The Data Protection Act 1998/ the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This will include working with the data team to identify data challenges and appropriate solutions for improving prospect data quality and cleanliness.  
• Work with the Head of Philanthropy to shape annual plans which best support Fundraisings priorities.  
• Provide the highest quality research activity which adds the most value to fundraising. This might include identifying training needs and formulating training sessions for the team.  
• Regularly network with sector peers to share best practice and generate insight on the latest developments in prospect research.  
• Using data analytics techniques, implement processes and procedures which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of prospect research and prospect identification activity. 
• Support the Director of Fundraising and Head of Philanthropy in embedding a performance culture – including tracking identification, prospect movement, conversion rates and cleansing the pipeline on an ongoing basis.  
• Take a lead role in using data visualisation techniques to bring new insight to major gifts and prospect pipeline data which informs fundraising strategy. 

Experience 

• Highly experienced Prospect Research professional, ideally having led delivery of prospect research strategies  
• Experience of driving high value pipeline growth, contributing to increased income generation  
• Experience of prospect/ data analytics.  
• Experience of effective internet and electronic research with the ability to analyse and objectively assess the relevance of information to fundraising activity  
• Experience of line management
