Purpose of the role:
We are seeking a Peer Support Worker who has personal lived experience of mental health challenges. This individual will act as a role model for service users, utilizing their own recovery journey to instil hope and resilience. By sharing their life experiences and the lessons learned throughout their recovery, they will motivate others.
The Peer Support Worker will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team within the Unit, assisting in-patients in developing essential skills and coping mechanisms, while promoting overall wellness through strength based and non-directive conversations. They will provide both practical and emotional support, facilitate access to community resources to help individuals maintain their independence while ensuring their wellbeing.
Additionally, this role includes supporting service users after discharge in the community for up to 12 weeks, aiding them in fostering independence within their local community, connecting with various agencies, enhancing life skills, providing guidance related to employment or educational opportunities and improving their ability to manage challenges effectively to prevent re-admission.
This position requires building connections with service users through shared experiences of mental health challenges, making lived experience a crucial requirement for applicants.

You will join the wider Peer Support In-Reach Service alongside 7 other peers who will work in various Rehab wards across South London but primarily work in a well-supported In-Patient Unit with the MDT at Westways Rehab Unit, Alexandra House, First Floor, Bethlem Royal Hospital, Monks Orchard Road, Beckenham, BR3 3BX.
The ward is for people, aged 18-65, who have severe mental illness. We provide 24-hour rehabilitation, treatment and care for people who live in the London Borough of Croydon.
Our service is for people who would benefit from six months to two years rehabilitation. We help people to maintain their health and move towards greater independence in the community.

Fundraising from Trusts and Foundations
Leading on applications to trusts and foundations with input from the Charity Director and delivery teams as needed, incl:

We are recruiting for two additional Trusts & Foundations Advisors to be key contributors to the development of Sightsavers trusts and foundations programme. As Assistant Donation Hub Manager, your primary purpose is to support the efficient and effective operation of our Donations Hub, ensuring that all incoming stock is sorted, processed, and distributed in line with the needs of our retail and ecommerce operations.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager to manage a complex and varied stock flow coming from multiple sources - including in-store donations, house clearances, home collections, corporate and community events, and direct drop-offs from the public. A key part of your role will be to ensure these donations are processed efficiently, assessed for maximum value, and appropriately segmented to drive income across our 14 shops and online platforms.
This is a highly practical and physical role that requires strong organisational skills and a deep understanding of operational logistics. You’ll be responsible for ensuring timely fulfilment of shop orders, maintaining high standards of stock quality by both sorting incoming donations from shops, allocating corporate donations and supporting the movement and dispatch of goods in a way that maximises efficiency and minimises waste.
You’ll lead day-to-day activities in the hub, supervising volunteers and working collaboratively with drivers to deliver an excellent internal service to shop teams. About the opportunity
As an Impact Analyst, you will work within a team across multiple social impact projects. An example of one of the programmes you will become a key part of delivering is the Single Homelessness Prevention Service (SHPS) which is a programme that prevents the next generation of rough sleepers.
The programme supports people to sustain an existing tenancy by negotiating with landlords/ family members, or providing coaching to empower people to do so. Where needed, we help them to find and secure a new home, typically in the private rented sector. SHPS services also seek to prevent the mental trauma associated with homelessness by preventing the escalation of the homelessness journey to crisis point.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include.
· Overseeing all data related aspects of the programme including data collection, extraction, cleaning, analysis, reporting, and presentation.
· Manage all Power BI reporting tables and system with support from central teams.
· Gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to measure the impact of service innovations for the programmes you are working across. Produce regular reports and insights that aid decision making to continuously improve programme design.
· Taking initiative to propose and implement relevant analyses to the project to maximise positive impact for participants with the programmes you are supporting.
· Building relationships and working at times directly with Delivery Partners (VCSE organisations who are delivering the frontline services for the programme) to ensure they are able to use the data systems accurately and effectively,
· Identifying opportunities for process automation and improving utilisation of management data by colleagues across the programme.

BACKGROUND
For over thirty years, Asylum Aid has been providing legal representation to some of the most vulnerable people seeking asylum in the UK. Our welfare advice team provide generalist advice on welfare benefits, housing, asylum support and related issues to Westminster residents with refugee and migrant backgrounds who do not have English as a first language and who would otherwise be unable to access vital advice which enables them to avoid destitution, homelessness and food poverty. We deliver this advice as part of the Westminster Advice Services Partnership through a drop in and outreach at local community venues, and supported by local volunteers many of whom speak community languages.
The post of Appeals Support Advisor is a new post established with the benefit of a grant from Westminster City Council. The post holder will support clients with appeals and reconsideration requests in relation to welfare benefits and housing. This will allow us to provide a more comprehensive service for our clients, many of whom struggle to lodge appeals and reconsideration requests, and to gather evidence in support of their appeals without advice, due to language barriers. The post holder will deliver advice in community languages, including with the assistance of interpreters, to local residents as part of our partnership work. Most of our clients are refugees, people seeking asylum and others with a refugee or migrant background. The Appeals Support Advisor will work with clients referred from Asylum Aid’s Information and Advice Service (including our weekly drop in) and from other partners in the local community. They will also provide training and supervision to the Generalist Advisor and our volunteers. External supervision will be arranged for the post holder.
The ideal candidate will be resident in or near to the City of Westminster and fluent in one or more community languages. In particular, fluency in one or more of the following is highly desirable: Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani/ other Kurdish dialects, Somali, Amharic, Tigrinya.
As this is a new post delivering a specialist appeals and casework service from within our generalist advice team, it offers an exciting opportunity to set up and establish systems for the delivery of this service during the six month fixed term contract, including ensuring that case management processes are established which meet the requirements of our Lexcel quality mark and that clear referral procedures are established with the drop in service and our partners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The post-holder will:
· Be part of a generalist advice service, with special emphasis on language support, as part of the Westminster Advice Services Partnership (WASP), a collaboration of advice agencies Asylum Aid, Westminster Citizens Advice, Age UK Westminster, and Deaf PLUS Westminster Advice Service.
· Provide specialist appeals casework and support to clients who do not speak English as a first language and need to challenge decisions, request mandatory reconsiderations, internal housing reviews, lodge appeals in relation to welfare benefits and housing.
· Provide ongoing casework support up to the Tribunal stage, including helping clients to gather evidence in support of their mandatory reconsiderations and appeals and preparing for hearings (but not including representation at hearings)
· Where capacity allows, help to deliver generalist face to face and telephone advice and information, in a community language and English, to migrants and asylum seekers on issues related to welfare benefits, housing and asylum support in accordance with Asylum Aid’s contract within the WASP partnership, and taking responsibility for the quality of advice given.
· Provide training and supervision to the Generalist Advisor and to volunteers, supporting the development of their advice skills and ensuring the quality of advice delivered throughout the advice service.
· Maintain a high standard of electronic case records (using AdvicePro) for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, monitoring and evaluation of the service, and to help identify issues to be raised through policy advocacy.
· Ensure that all casework is conducted in accordance with the Lexcel quality standard, including by establishing case management procedures for the delivery of specialist advice which meet the Lexcel standard, and participate as required in annual Lexcel quality mark audits
· Attend external and in-house training organised by Asylum Aid and regular supervision sessions to develop and maintain the skills and knowledge required to help deliver a quality advice service, and to keep up to date with changes in welfare benefits, housing and asylum support law
· Cascade information, changes, and developments in social welfare law, including learning from external training, to other staff and volunteers who assist with the delivery of the welfare advice service
· Work effectively with partners to provide a seamless service for clients, making and receiving referrals and maintain up to date information about other service providers for the purposes of referrals and signposting.
· Be responsible for achieving relevant targets for quality and quantity set by the WASP coordinator
· Provide case studies and other information from the work of the advice service to support policy advocacy and strategic legal work in support of Asylum Aid’s vision of fair and dignified treatment of people seeking asylum, refugees and other vulnerable migrants
· Carry out any other tasks within the scope of the post to ensure the effective delivery and development of the service.
The post holder will need to be able to travel to and within Westminster to deliver advice at outreach locations as well as at a drop-in in or around the Church Street Estate. Travel expenses will be paid to attend locations away from Asylum Aid’s office(s) and the main location of our drop-in service (currently the Church Street library).
Other duties:
• Respect for client confidentiality at all times in line with Asylum Aid’s confidentiality agreements and consent forms.
• To attend staff meetings as required.
• To undertake other duties which are generally compatible with the functions of the post.
• To comply with the organisation’s policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, health and safety, diversity, equity & inclusion, confidentiality and security, as set out in the Office Manual as well the policies of other relevant partner organisations.
Person Specification
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
· At least 12 months’ experience of supporting benefits appeals through to Tribunal stage and Housing Reviews
· At least 5 years’ experience of working face to face with clients to deliver generalist advice in different areas of law including welfare benefits and housing
· Knowledge on a range of issues on which advice may be sought including health and social care, housing and welfare benefits, including a thorough and up to date understanding of social security and welfare benefits legislation and policy
· Experience of managing a case load
· Knowledge or ability to understand and use relevant legislation
· Have completed Advice UK’s Learning to Advise training or hold the Citizens Advice Generalist Adviser certificate or an equivalent qualification

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

We are looking for a Technology Empowerment Coordinator to help drive its success.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity to coordinate cutting-edge and innovative technology support for people with a sensory impairment across Surrey. You’ll lead the delivery of community and remote tech training, grow and develop our technology volunteers, and collaborate with sector partners to learn and share, and to position our charity at the forefront of technology empowerment for people with a sensory impairment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of assistive technology support with the Access Technology Trainer and AI Trailblazer and Volunteer Co-ordinator.
- Liaise with community-based services and identify individual needs for tailored tech support.
- Support, grow and develop our Tech Buddy volunteers to maximise our impact.
- Support our Access Technology Trainer and AI Trailblazer with accessible training content to run confidence-building digital learning sessions, in person and online.
- Support partnership working with local community groups and national sector organisations.
- Monitor outcomes, gather case studies, and support reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Help embed inclusive tech practices across the organisation, and to develop the technology training capability of our staff team.
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about technology and digital inclusion, with the skills to coordinate and develop a service.
You’ll need:
- Experience coordinating or delivering services—ideally involving technology and disabled people.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and AI applications for people who are disabled.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to liaise effectively with volunteers, staff and sector partners.
- Excellent communication skills, with a range of audiences, including through written report writing.
- Experience and confidence using Microsoft 365, databases ideally including Microsoft Access, and Customer Relationship Management systems.
- A collaborative, person-centred approach.
- Ability to travel across Surrey and to work independently when required.
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Lived or professional experience of sensory disability.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme & Operations Support

Support the coordination of OSH’s residentials, events, and programmes, ensuring logistics run smoothly.

London Weighting
Temporary cover (6-8 weeks may be up to 12 weeks) must be able to start 2nd June 2025 (plus 6% contributory pension. 35 hours per week).

The Care Navigator will support those with long term conditions to access timely care and community support services. Working closely with Camden GP practices and Integrated Care Teams is required as is accurate record keeping using IT systems. Through timely intervention and care co-ordination, unnecessary hospital admissions, GP appointments and residential placements will be reduced.
The successful candidate will come from an information/advice, social care or health background, must be computer literate, and have excellent people and communication skills, and able to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of person centred planning is required. It is important that a candidate promotes a culture that values, protects and uses information for the success of the organisation and benefit of its clients/patients.
For this role it is essential that you to have the ability to travel across Camden as the role involves visiting clients in their own homes. This is a full time role with no job share opportunity and works out of GP practices in Camden. AUC offers a contributory pension, and season ticket or bicycle loan facility.
