The role will involve developing and nurturing relationships with those who own, manage, design or have an interest in green infrastructure by proactively facilitating our networks and supporter activities to engender more effective and collaborative working, knowledge sharing, and connection.

This is a great role for someone who is excited by working with senior stakeholders across London who play an active role in maintaining and enhancing London’s green spaces.

The successful candidate will be a confident ambassador for the charity, and capable of building long term partnerships. The post holder will need to use their initiative, creativity and proven partnership building skills to enable the charity to expand and maximise the impact of its existing networks, support internal and external development, and plan and coordinate supporter-focused activities.

As part of a small charity, the successful candidate will need to be a team player, ready and willing to respond and adapt to opportunities and challenges, working closely with the rest of the Parks for London team and trustees.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver and enhance our network and engagement programme to support green space owners and managers
• Support and coordinate the administration and delivery of a range of virtual and in-person network meetings and events
• Identify and develop relationships with potential new supporters 
• Support the identification, and engagement of new audiences who could benefit from our work
• Identify and develop relationships with potential collaborators with whom we can work in partnership with, to maximise our capacity and expand our reach
• Support the sustainability of the charity by driving and maximising existing income streams as well as identifying and delivering new opportunities for income generation
• Represent Parks for London at events and wider engagement opportunities, and promote the interests of the charity, our services, and our supporters
• Keep abreast of local, regional, national and international funding opportunities to identify opportunities for both the charity and those in our networks
• Contribute to the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of Parks for London and our services
• Play an active role in strategic reviews, business planning, and contribute to the wider thinking and planning of the charity

About the role:

We are seeking a Head of Operations to work with the CEO and senior leadership team to manage a broad scope of operational functions, including workplace governance, people management, digital support, data and risk management. The Head of Operations will be a collaborative and hands-on professional with project and people management skills, a track record of operational change management, and the ability to inspire colleagues in new ways of working that ensure the efficient day-to-day running of the Foundation - driving system, quality and process improvements.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Working with the CEO to deliver effective day-to-day operations for the organisation, managing the Operational Excellence Workstream and our approach to Quality.
• Oversee HR, culture and people function, including recruitment, retention, performance evaluation, employee learning & development, working with our external HR advisors when required.
• Promote a culture of equity, inclusion and collaboration, nurturing a positive and supportive environment for all.
• Embed cross-team working, building key relationships and highlighting synergies across our working practices to deliver efficiencies and improvements.

• Lead on the management and implementation of safeguarding - ensuring appropriate policies, training and guidance are regularly reviewed.
• Support the CEO in maintaining strong governance and adherence to best practices in charity governance and reporting, including keeping the risk register up to date and progressing actions.
• Produce management reports for the CEO and Trustees as required, supporting the Annual Report & Accounts production and Board of Trustees administration.
• Oversee cyber security and coordinate IT support services, including the Foundation’s IT and digital platforms – maintaining licenses, agreements and contracts.

Essential knowledge, skills & experience include:

• Previous experience in a Senior Operations management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit setting
• Strong leadership qualities to lead operations and fulfil an executive function
• Reliable with a high level of discretion and integrity – able to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
• Excellent IT and digital skills including Microsoft Office 365. Skilled in using workplace systems including Teams and SharePoint
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Experience of managing compliance and risk, including safeguarding and GDPR – able to identify and respond to organisational risks
• Exceptional people management and coaching skills with experience of managing HR and L&D functions

Who we are
Rainforest Trust is a leading global organisation sponsoring the creation and expansion of protected and conserved areas, playing a central role in combating biodiversity loss and fighting climate change. Rainforest Trust UK (RTUK) is set up as a separate charity to tax-efficiently raise funds from donors here in the UK for Rainforest Trust’s conservation projects. Key Responsibilities (see attached job description for full list)
- Deal promptly with donations received on a daily basis, following our processes to ensure supporters are appropriately thanked.
- Respond to day-to-day enquiries from Rainforest Trust UK supporters via phone, email and post.
- Support the Fundraising Manager in sending communications to the donor base, utilising content from Rainforest Trust Global, checking for accuracy and ensuring all communications adhere to Rainforest Trust’s brand guidelines.
- Lead on the daily management of Rainforest Trust UK’s social media channels, including scheduling posts and responding to comments/messages.
- Be the main point of contact for fundraisers, schools and other community groups raising funds for Rainforest Trust UK.

Working Arrangements and Travel Requirements - You will be predominantly home-based (so you will need an excellent internet connection) and expected to commute to London two days per month to work in-person, alongside the team.

Job Purpose

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator position sits within the Research, Evidence and Learning team and will make a key contribution to the quality of our programmes. The post holder will keep abreast of state-of-the-art M&E approaches to ensure the use of technically appropriate monitoring and evaluation models and information systems. The post holder will support the design of new programmes as well as provide technical advice and input to the monitoring, evaluation and learning of existing programmes. The Coordinator will also play a crucial role in ensuring that our external communications and policy work (at all levels) are informed by and accurately represent our evidence base.

Design, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead the development of proposals from a MEL perspective, including contributing to and leading on theories of change, and the development of MEL frameworks. Design, lead and manage participatory processes to establish country programme MEL systems. Lead development of organisational tools and processes – e.g. developing reporting templates for project reports where not supplied by the donor Lead the development of quality programme standards and tools for their implementation. Advise on and support the building of an evidence base of impact. Support development of theories of change for development of strategic goals for Health Alliances. Support the development of indicators and monitoring of Alliance activity. Support the design and implementation of evaluations. Building MEL Capacity Provide hand-on technical assistance to teams in the monitoring, evaluation and review of existing projects. Support staff with development/use of MEL tools and processes. Provide input and assistance to MEL activities, including data collection and analysis, and evaluation design. Foster learning within programmes, through sharing lessons learnt, evaluation results as well as playing a key role in strengthening organisational learning. Ensure that monitoring visits are meaningful and capture data sought and feed into management decisions.

Funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and managed by the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET), the Global Health Workforce Programme (GHWP) aims to develop the health workforce (HWF) in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria and Somaliland supporting them to build stronger, more resilient health systems for post-pandemic recovery and to make progress towards UHC.

Grants for UK-LMIC and cross-LMIC health partnerships will be awarded to respond to national HWF priorities identified through a scoping assessment carried out by THET with DHSC, FCDO, national Governments and stakeholders (such as local World Health Organisation offices). These grants will run until December 2025.   

With a strong focus on building local ownership and sustainability, these partnerships will contribute to the following programmatic outcomes:

1. Partnerships contributing towards improved health workforce leadership capacity aligned with health workforce strategies, that will support reduction in gender inequalities.

2. Partnerships aligning with and contributing towards retention and wellbeing strategies.

3. Improved number and quality of training opportunities for health workers.

4. Co-developed and documented learning on health workforce interventions shared with key national and international stakeholders.

THET will award 28-36 strategic grants of £100,000 – £350,000 that feed into the country scoping priorities and outputs outlined above. The grants will broadly be split across the six countries; however, the exact split is dependent on the number and quality of applications received and broader priorities.   

20-28 smaller grants of up to £50,000 will also be available for projects that tackle specific areas such as innovation, rural health facilities, diaspora engagement, leadership opportunities for women and protected groups, and the climate crisis.   

Grants will be available to UK-LMIC health partnerships and LMIC-LMIC health partnerships. There are no institutional eligibility criteria as long as ODA rules are followed, so grants can be awarded to healthcare providers, royal colleges, universities, professional associations, NGOs, alliances, diaspora networks etc, but not to Ministry of Health departments.

This document serves as a Terms of Reference for the type of work the THET Administrative Support should expect to carry out as part of this.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Oversee consultants’ invoicing and payments process and staff expense claims

· Prompt consultants to send invoices at the end of the month

· Review receipts and time claimed against contract and allowable expenses, file documents and send to Programme Manager for approval

· Monitor consultants’ time and expenses in trackers

· Review expense claims from THET staff related to GHWP, file documents and send to Programme Manager for approval

· Follow up with Finance team regarding payments

2. Oversee the National Oversight Mechanism invoicing and payments process

· Prompt in-country Admin Assistants to send invoices to NOM upon completion of activities, and follow up if necessary

· Admin Assistants will check receipts and time claimed against honoraria agreements and allowable expenses and send to Programme Manager for approval, cc’ing Admin Support

· Monitor payments in tracker

· Follow up with Finance team regarding payments

3. Provide support to recruitment/contracting process

· Support with developing/adapting recruitment documents (application log, creating folders in Sharepoint)

· Support with drafting contracts based on information provided by Programme Manager/Coordinator

4. Provide support to reporting process

· Support with development of templates and updating basic information in the report

· Proofread and format reports before finalisation and submission by the Programme Manager

5. Support the Programmes Manager and Programmes Coordinator

· Provide ad hoc administrative and logistical support to the team as required

· Support with filing documents in Sharepoint

· Support with drafting briefings

· Support with setting up meetings and comprehensive note-taking

• An appropriate social work qualification

Grandmentors

Grandmentors is a national volunteering programme where older volunteers (aged 50+) use their lifetime of skills and experience to support and mentor vulnerable young adults leaving the care system. These young adults often need a guiding hand and role model to support them to find work, continue their education or begin training – ultimately giving them the skills and self-belief to lead successful and independent lives.

Volunteers meet with a young adult regularly to boost their confidence and work towards goals, which are unique to each person.

Role Purpose

We are recruiting two part-time Project Coordinators to effectively deliver all aspects of our Grandmentors project in Wiltshire, ensuring it achieves its aims, objectives, outcomes, and targets. The postholders will work alongside teams within Wiltshire Council and with local volunteers to ensure that we improve the lives of care experienced young people (aged 16-25) through the unique power of inter-generational mentoring.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Effectively manage the service to ensure it meets agreed targets and millstones.
• Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and local authority staff.
• Ensure volunteers are recruited, appropriately trained, and supported in their role; this will involve processing volunteer expenses, DBS checks and maintaining databases.
• Ensure regular communication between project staff and volunteers is maintained and that regular supervision for volunteers is provided.
• Work with your line manager to ensure project expenditure is in line with the budget.

Location

Health Professional Engagement Officer Role

We are looking for an experienced project officer who is a self-starter and thrives on challenges. You will work closely with the small PRDA admin team, a number of the trustees and a wide range of external stakeholders. You will have a passion for improving the lives of people affected by cancer, and will be keen to learn about the personal impact of PRD and how it can be treated. You will have energy, enthusiasm and creativity to go the extra mile to make your mark in this brand new role. You will have a proven track record of accurate administration, managing successful projects and working with health professionals, and be good at organising events and problem-solving. Previous experience of working in a health charity would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and support a Community of Practice for professionals and researchers who work on PRD, including organising face-to-face and online events.
• Support the work to develop and promote resources that enable better diagnosis, treatment and care of people with PRD (key resource is the PRD Best Practice Pathway).
• Support trustees to connect with professional organisations.
• Gather and disseminate information about services for people with PRD.

You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.
